  • Intermodal Group's, Intermodal Link Services (ILS). Commenced operation with their new container train service from KENWICK Intermodal Terminal, in Roe Industrial Park.
This video was taken at North Fremantle, along Port Beach Road. And next to the Tydeman Road level crossing.
    Tuesday 6th August 2024.
With the arrival of G 511 on ILS container train from FORRESTFIELD Intermodal Terminal into NQRT. 11:03 hrs.
There were three separate Watco container trains at the Rail Terminal.
GL 110 departing NQRT at 11:44 hrs was the first inaugural return of ILS #3161 trip service back to KENWICK Intemodal Terminal.(Though not sure, if it was a test trial run?)
Next container train was HL 203 with 3WF3. at 13:05 hrs returning direct back to KWINANA Intermodal Terminal.
This train normally will travel to Aurizon's yard in Forrestfield with loading to be collected by Watco Nickel West # 351 trip servce to Hampton. But no loading for that train today.
G 511 is often seen on the thrice daily Forrestfield - NQRT shuttle container trains lately. Whilst normal rostered loco GML 10 is at UGL Bassendean awaiting spare parts.
GL 110 sighted on the new Kenwick Intermodal Terminal - NQRT service, was a surprise. As it was anticipated the recently arrived into Western Australia. Qube Logistics 1101 and 1104 would be on these intermodal trains.
It appears both 1101 & 1104, ( Built by National Railway Equipment Company in Mount Vernon. llinois.USA. 2011 / 2012) are more favoured by Watco on their main line freight trains, 351 / 352 Kwinana to Hampton services.
Note: Aurizon also operate a dedicated container train service, from their Kwinana Yard to NQRT. Running as, #160 / 161. Departing Kwinana approx 7.30 / 8.00pm. And returning back from NQRT about 11.30pm.

Yes, all go at North Quay Terminal! Miss the old days though of narrow gauge container trains running into North Fremantle, and trains running onto the wharf.

Now that is some past railway history, The good old narrow gauge era.

Here in SA, I miss the old Broad Gauge too. At least now we have the chance to put the old inefficiencies of the 3 Gauge Network behind us and build a freight rail system that works, and will reduce road movements. Only 150 years behind, but better late than never. :D

2:17 (A pathetic joke) "That's a nice Co Engine you have there."
    "What Co Engine?"
    "Yes... it is." :)

Nice video, but try not to photograph areas with so much rubbish on the ground... makes the video looks a but ugly. Catch the train at the level crossing down near South mole... much better scene.
