Simplex Fire Alarm Test #66 (New Install)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 авг 2019
- Test of a newly installed 4100ES system in a renovated addition to a large office building. Some devices on the adjoining buildings 4002 system can be heard in this clip as both panels trip each other. As for the faulty display on the 4100ES it has since been replaced with a new interface.

Strobes flashing in the dark is the thing I "fear" the second most of happening to me at work, the first is an alarm first sounding in my ear when I'm standing right next to one.
I used to be afraid to use a public bathroom with a fire alarm in it
Holy crap! I thought I was the only one that felt this way! Glad to know I’m not the only one
Corey Barnes me 2
Same dude both of you same!
@@cor3ybarnes my old school had horn strobes in the bathroom and I remember I saw the fire department and I'm like NOPE and I got back just in time and the alarm went off if I didn't see them I probably would have cried because I was terrified of that and I still kind of am
Yep, the back-to-school season is often when fire alarm installs, upgrades, testing and inspections are done, even not at schools like that!
wileyk209zback yeah in my school they do fire drills when school starts
Heena Patel and is that ever homework practice a fire drill at home?
@@HeenaPatel253, yeah, here in Brockton MA, the public schools generally have a fire drill on the third day of school.
Matthew Gregory no in school
wileyk209zback same to us in Natick Public Schools
My old elementary school that I went to just got these less than a month ago and they're posted everywhere and added more than what they used to have. The old part used to have System Sensor Mass 24ms and the newer part had the Simplex Retrofit plates that had some mechanical horn, can't remember the model off the top of my head. My friend works in the building and she said that there's one posted in her office by her desk and she says she hates them.
I love the Simplex brand of fire alarms! But my favorite is the L-Series blue strobe
Other than my school fire drill, I've never seen the ceilings in action on RUclips!!
I was thinking the same thing
Smaller buildings in elementary had the 9128s with a different fire style lettering.
Saw them in action 3 times
I like the ceiling mount truealerts that are in the video that you made those are nice and loud that was a great fire alarm test I enjoyed watching it
Must be creepy doing these at night
Nah. Just harder to stay awake especially when working all day.
SAFETECH harder to stay awake?? You’d think these things blaring would keep you up O.o
I have a simplex at my school and lond
Loved the video
Yay! Another Great Video!
Thanks for viewing!
Great video!
Good thing the alarm is working
Always a good thing I suppose!
I’m currently getting a Gentex Commander 3 Horn/strobe.
Nice!
Nice video safetech
Thanks for viewing!
Let’s see the 4002 side as well!!!!!!
I finally found a video with the new truealerts.
Yeah at the beginning I heard one also they definitely are 9838s there’s probably a lot of them cause the building so huge
Great video I love your channel !!!!
I do have to ask though what do you think the was rarest system you have came across?
Thanks for viewing. Ive serviced a vast variety throughout the years cant name one in particular. Each facilities unique in its own way.
Nice
Is this at Nielsen? The interior design looks similar to the interior design of Nielsen. I only ask because my mom works there.
Will there be a video on the old 4002 system at some point
Gotta love the Simplex T-BAR 0:02
The best of all time
Y’all notice after 1:28 how they went outta sync?
Did they just keep the old Simplex smokes from the old system? I noticed a older Simplex smoke at 1:15 and at other points in the video.
Yes most of them are still there.
Shouldn’t a large office building like this have a voice evac?
They still make them today. Much used in universities and hospitals.
Hey Safetech! I have a question if you don’t call monitoring then put a panel such as a 4100ES Into walktest then set off an alarm will monitoring dispatch fa crews
Depends on the panel and how its configured. Typically no but walk test often generates a trouble signal and they will sometimes respond to that. Always a good idea to cal monitoring before any work is performed on the FACP. Otherwise your asking for trouble.
I almost kinda wonder If I'd prefer these alarms where I work over the current Wheelock ZNS devices. Those are on high volume when they sound but then I feel like any alarm type would be that way!
These particular models are less loud than Conventional TrueAlerts
We had a fire drill of TrueAlertS yesterday
FlukyLeaf I had one today durian 6th period today with Wheelock MT'S and Truealerts.Code 3
Cool
I would HATE to be the person at the cubicle directly under one of those alarms.
Just working, minding my business then....
RRRRRR RRRRRR RRRRRRR!🤣
What was old system and do i hear a mechanical horn near panel some were
If those alarms were literally set off at night for me, I would have plenty of nightmares
People who dislike are people that don’t read the title.
Andy Genschoreck there is one dislike
What alarms are on the 4002 system?????
It looks and sounds ominous in the dark
Are those wall A/V horn strobes TrueAlert ES devices or regular addressable TrueAlerts???
They're TrueAlert ES.
@@FireRescue80 Ironically what's on the ceiling definitely is addressable because it souds buggy like the ES's BUT there from the original TrueAlert series and the select not very many that are still being mass produced, model number is 4906-9228.
Where I'm working, thank the lord I bought ear plugs for fire drills and such.
Do they still make Simplex TrueAlerts and 4903’s?
The 4903s are still made but they're made only for retrofitting and/or replacing older alarms. Same goes with the 4904 series. The TrueAlerts however are still in production.
The 4906 TrueAlerts are still being produce this one commercial building installed conventional TrueAlerts with 4100es months ago.
4903 Selectable TrueAlerts are still being made today
Hey, at 1:48, weren’t those doors supposed to close once the fire alarms sound off to act as a barrier?
They were likely bypassed on the panel for the purpose of this test.
Awesome video 😊👍👍
What mechanical horn in this video?
sounded like a 9838
They are in the adjoining building. Cant remember the model.
whare i can buy flash drive simplex dongle?
Are those 9833s in the other building or 9838s?
I cant remember 4903-9838 I believe.
is this the same building as 60?
What got you interested into fire alarms?
hold on did you just pulll that in a building
i hope if theres no one in the building but you
He was inspecting the system.
Are these the 4906-9227s and 4906-9228s?
49AV-WRF
Just from my speaker I can only imagine how loud this is in real life
But of course! The Simplex TrueAlert is one of the loudest electronic horn/strobes ever made, alongside the System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance and the Wheelock AS.
What about the loudness of the EST Genesis?
@@ZakWolf the Truealert isn't that loud in my opinion (it's on low volume here so that might be why) but the spectralert advance is a different story
@@BlueThunderboltsiren That might be it. But I know conventional TrueAlert horn/strobes lack any volume settings, and so they are always on high volume! So from my experience, they seem just as loud as SpectrAlert Advances. (Though the new L-series is a tad softer than the Advances.)
@@ZakWolf you're not kidding
I hear mechanical horns in continuous.
Yeah sounds like Wheelock 7002T's
Gary Beltz if it was a wheelock, it would have been skipping
Most likely a 9838, My middle school has them on continuous
Simplex system, pull it out! How many customers have you heard that from? For me it’s in the hundreds.
None. Im dedicated to my customers and they are happy with the service they receive.
My favorite is spetralert classic
0:11 is that additional space at the bottom for another panel or voice panel?
Its a secondary bay used for housing additional hardware/cards. If it was a MN compatible system then yes typically that space would be utilized to house at least 1 amp and audio control functions.
SAFETECH OK, thanks.
How in the world did the camera catch all the strobes? What camera did you use?
He uses his phone
@@MichanaAlerting I meant what type of phone he is recording on
@@SportyTrainGuy no clue
Is the office building renovated?
Yes. It literally states that in the description.
how loud are truealert ES?
They're loud, but not unbearable. My junior high school installed them in 2016 (I got some of the old devices!)
-ECO
cool
Thanks for viewing!
When we at 1st grade of school when the fire alarm goes off it was a false alarm
Hi am a fan a sub and love your video
I heard a mechanical horn doing continuous what was that??
Possibly a Simplex 2901-9838 on some old Simplex strobe or light plate
More videos
new install but no new LED truealerts?
Not here.
Do most true alert speakers use that sound
Newer ones do
Y are all of the alarms so high pitched. Too much volts running in them?
These are the newest versions of the Simplex TrueAlerts. These are the ES models which have a slightly higher pitch than the older ones.
It's how it is at my school
True alerte and wheellock and some sound broken
Just Simplex, nothing else. Yes, they sound broken but those are the nee ES versions that sound really weird.
Symplex is a cool fire alarm system in the world
1:25 mechanical horns why didn't you show them
This is system has a EPS correct?
Yes on the main node.
SAFETECH I knew it! Then a SPS on the bottom? Or a idnet 2+2 card?
I guess the dialer wasn’t connected yet
He'll disable the dialer so that the fd doesn't get called out.
System was on test with monitoring.
SAFETECH yes I know but I gess no dialler was connected yet
Wait I'm confused is the alarm at 0:33 a Truealert ES?
No.
4906-9228
@@FireAlarmTech7. Oh the sound is what got me. It kinda matches up.
The ES horn strobe for the ceiling mount is the same as the speaker
@@cnrailfan8000 ohhh
Hmmm interesting
At 0:20 I heard another mechanical horn on continuous (steady)
Ugh, they’re ES’s! I like the older True alerts better!
Safetech this sounds creepy to do in the night!
Shellington Sea Otter: “(Shy) (Shellington Sea Otter Is Really Scared) Jumping Jellyfish! 🧡!”
Anyone hear that other alarm at 1:27?
Yeah it's a 2901.
Yeah, I heard that too! I was wondering what that was! 😅
Are they loud?
Yes they are they are high pitched horns
@@ToothlessThedragon9 this comment was from 4 years ago lol. Since I left this comment I’ve inspected like 5 systems with these and they were loud. Thanks.
@@alexandersalarms5380 Well I found a Est Genesis horn strobe it's very super loud than every other fire alarms made by Edwards
2:15 when you go through an emergency exit at an airport...
I remember in Middle School someone dared me to pull the fire alarm and shockingly I did.. That was the most dumbest thing I've ever done in my life. I got suspended and got an ass whooping from my dad. I learned a valuable lesson.
Well that wasn’t very smart of you.
Those new TrueAlerts sound awful. Old ones were way better
Brothers
Can you do a talking one in a middle school thanks have it up by tonight the fire drill is tomorrow
1:09 I hear a simplex mechanical horn
Same
The Simplex Truealerts Sound Like System Sensor Spectralert Advances
They're more like EHS- D1s
It says EEEE
It’s loud. It would be more frightening to put your ear on the fire alarm. Especially the fire alarm is very loud. It can hurt your eardrum.
I dont really like the new pitch on these ES devices, makes your ears hurt more than they already did
They are not ES's. They are just addressable.
@@user-ok5lz9zx1g Like the 4906 addressable series?
Hi mate how are u ok mate hove a good day mate form Greg Bouchard hove a good one mate
Bro I hate these alarms
UK fire alarms are so much better
@CSX Fan do you even use fire rated cable haha
No they are not
UK fire alarms sound like a little kids toy
@@davepearce2106 hey at least we have a variety of pull stations that comes in different shapes and forms unlike the callpoints which there barely any variety.
