    When a synth sounds this good in multiple demos- on both a mobile phone speaker- and a full range speaker setup- it is a pretty good sign you’ve stumbled onto something special.
    Future classic…and that is before you get to the minimalist yet innovative interface.

    Excellent demonstration. I own one, too. Now I have 3 korgs, a roland and a few others that I don't use anymore. Selling them is more difficult than replacing them.

    Thanks for an another great demo, personally I find those 4K & more synths too pricey to consider to buy for a hobbyst. They sound good and all, but there are many less expensive synths (digital, hybrid and even analog) that do this too.
    PS. Answearing to your question I would like to see a comparision video with a Waldorf M or maybe a Kodamo Mask 1.

  • @chriswareham
    @chriswareham 7 месяцев назад +2

    Every video I've watched about the NINA makes me want one, but it's outside of my budget. Thankfully, I can get similar sounds to the glorious pads that the NINA excels at from my Waldorf STVC - but the NINA is way more versatile than the STVC could ever be.

    1:16 - 1:19 … I thought you were playing the intro/riff from Don’t Change, by the Australian Band, INXS … If you make a Part 2/ Wavetable comparison video featuring Nina, you know what to do … 😉☺️. The motorised knobs remind me of my Soldano Caswell X99 Preamp … 😎👍🏼. Very cool. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!! ☺️

    OK, now I want a midi controller with this type of knobs!!! 😱It's crazy to see how knobs changes behaviour according to the software settings.

    • @winesynths
      @winesynths  7 месяцев назад +2

      And you won't really dig it before you try it in person! It just feels totally real, like a top quality knob. I did not even realize that the Main Volume knob was a conventional pot until a friend found it out! Almost everyone, even people who do not care about synths and tech, were totally fascinated! They really made something totally outstanding with this technology!

    • @hakonsoreide
      @hakonsoreide 7 месяцев назад +1

      Hmmm... presumably the Nina also outputs MIDI as well as receive? Otherwise it wouldn't be able to synchronise with a DAW or app, I would have thought... 🤔

  • @MadelnMachines
    @MadelnMachines 7 месяцев назад +2

    I've always dreamed of a synth that had motorized pots. I can really make use of mult-timbrality without getting lost and edit and automate my presets so easily. Is it easy to see the the modulation routings when switching presets? Such emotional sounds too - those rich saturated high pitched sounds really get to me. I think i'm going to have to get one! Have you tried MPE with it yet? Can you sort of make it 8 voice multi-timbral if you use the A/B preset morph function - mixing 2 sounds for each voice? A comparison with the groove 3rd wave would be great.

    • @didadere7212
      @didadere7212 7 месяцев назад +1

      No, Nina is not a replacement for PEK/PER. It is overall much better sounding synth (better than any Sequential BTW), but Polyevolver has certain capabilities that make it total keeper. Polyevolver is unique and epithome of Dave Smith genius. Nina is miracle, absolutely underestimated almost unknown instrument.

    • @zap7759
      @zap7759 7 месяцев назад

      @@didadere7212Evolvers sound limp like a Prophet 08 with VS waves and extremely limited polyphony. The synth is exceptional but it's core sound is weaker than even the Pro VS Mini.

  • @jjrusy7438
    @jjrusy7438 7 месяцев назад +2

    Nina and C15 are the 2 synths of my dreams. Nina sounds so good. The take5 has a darker, richer vibe like Nina too. Off topic: Imo, the solina string machine sounds like a pipe organ machine which is special. Edit: The motorized knob recalibration is crazy wild. This might be the one time I agree with the price. I still cannot afford it. Lol.

    • @winesynths
      @winesynths  7 месяцев назад +2

      Nina is a very special synth, and I was positively surprised! Concerning the Solina: it originated as a part of a traditional electronic organ. So no wonder, that sometimes you feel like Johann Sebastian! 😁

      I have the E7 and love it. The creamy warm sound I have never heard before. But its quite limited so I think to get the Nina as my 2nd poly analog. Problem: its hard to find s shop here in Switzerland where i can try the Nina.

    • @Donetur
      @Donetur 2 месяца назад

      @@nicogrubert great to know. I really wish to get a Studio Electronics Code 8, but it is too expensive. I prefer to pay for the OB-X8 which cost even less and it includes a premium keyboard. Maybe one day. For the moment the E7 seems to be one of the best alternatives. I am not sure if I will get the Ob or this one first, but I will get both this year, that’s my goal at least :)

    • @nicogrubert
      @nicogrubert 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Donetur The OB-X8 did not impress me yet, sound-wise as well as the user interface. But I will give it a try in a shop as they are ready for testing in mos shops. The E7 is easy to use but the preset handling is kinda unintuitive and drives my crazy sometimes. But the OSC sound and filter is a dream.

    I will say (and I'll preface this with saying my eyesight is bad) if I ever got one I'd change those keycaps right away, partly because of color preference but mostly for clarity. A white/beige cap would be much better, orange caps on orange lights seems a bit odd to me. Alternatively they could have made the LEDs white or something if they wanted to keep the orange caps.

    • @winesynths
      @winesynths  7 месяцев назад +1
