I think Sjef actually has hit better with that wood bow than with his - he should stop wasting money on useless expensive equipment and start using some "serious" cheap bows .
I would expect him to beat Brady with a wood bow anytime and after that , Hoyt should set themselves on fire with their own hand (!)
Or Hoyt will ask "nicely" this video to be removed FOREVER from public view (!)

The most remarkable thing about this is watching Sjef handle 48lb on the fingers so smoothly and flawlessly. Those arrows must be around 2314, probably uncut. Telegraph poles basically. Their speed at impact with the 10 shows the high draw weight of his bow. But he makes it look effortless, especially through the clicker. So, I would point out his strength as well as skill! 4th in the Olympics man.

This video reminds me of my son. He started shooting archery when he was six. This past summer at Boy Scout camp he did both his archery and rifle shooting merit badges. In archery the kids have to score 150 points (10 yards, 30 arrows). My son was done in 17 shots on a bow that he had only practiced with for about 9 shots. He had not shot a recurve bow before that. He also finished up his rifle qualifications amazingly quickly. I think aiming is something that is best learned early, and that it carries across many different sports. The equipment is secondary to the unconscious.
    Cheers,
    Chris

Nice, very funny! I guess the more expensive setup should be more consistent. Though of course the archer is the main limiting factor, as you show. Great vid - really shows how capable affordable equipment is! I have both those bows, so I'll do some (inconsistent!) comparisons. Sadly, at my level it probably won't make a significant difference, but I do take great pleasure in using my Hoyt. Great shooting, Sjef!

Yep, that is what I am trying to teach my friend as I am trying to get him into archery. I set him up at just 5 yards and he is shooting left about 12 inches, grouping is about 7-8 inches apart and he thinks it is his bow. So I said lets work on your form first, then we will worry about your bow. He keeps on insisting that it is his bow, so I said fine, I will shoot your bow. I did and my grouping was an inch apart and 2 inches down from bullseye. This is a bare bow with no peep site and just using your fingers. Anyways, he went quite for like 20 minutes and then went right back into it is his bow thing. I then said more bluntly that his your form is the main issue here as your bow string is to your right and not on corner of mouth, so any bow is going to shoot left with that form and your not being consistent as sometimes you do have it close to your mouth but then the next shoot you don't. I then said you just need to practice a lot more and also told him that I was shooting just like him when I started. Keep in mind I did make a point before we even started to work on form and taught him basic form techniques like feet placement and anchor points and being consistent. In the end, he walked out still thinking it his bow. I can't help but die a little inside.

One, probably most important piece of equipment is missing - finger tab. Can you shoot same with crappy overfinger tab?

I probably could, but wanted to shoot my fairweather in stead, to take that factor out of the equation!

It looks to me like 20$ bass vs. 2000$ bass challenge. They look different but the sound is identical/depends on player. :D

it doesn't matter about the bow, what matters is the skill of the archer
