I honestly do appreciate that some builds can have an unfair advantage in RPGs depending on the situation. Like when you talked about that boss fight using a Melee Character vs a Spell Caster. As weird as it may seem to use Skyrim as an example, it works. While you can be very deadly as a Melee Character in Skyrim, you can be absolutely broken as a Mage. And we see in TES Lore that very experienced mages are some of the most deadly people in existence. Heck my Sorcerer in ESO is more deadly than my Dual Wielding Nightblade and my Nightblade hits harder lol. Now I'm tempted to go back in Skyrim and be an OP Mage.
Keep in mind that you may not have the same 3D audio experience as Matty, because everyone perceives audio a bit differently. Right now there are 5 modes, but the mode that would be ideal for you will probably have to be implemented (and they'll expand on 3D audio on the PS5 in the future). Matty sure trying his best to downplay the controller. I've been gaming all my life, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the controller absolutely is a game changer for me. Why would they need to develop it? It's a remake and most of the original code is the same, the enemy AI and even the Jank is exactly as miyazaki intended
The original Demon's Souls was developed as a first-party title for SCE (Sony of Japan) by FromSoftware. Sony owns it - it was made for them and produced by them. They initially decided to license it to Atlus and Bandai Namco for Western distribution - a move they later regretted. When BluePoint wanted to do the remake, Miyazaki gave his blessing and Sony once again oversaw the project. Is this just an attempt to capitalize off the initial game? It is exactly that, but it's not "just" that. There has been talk for a while about remaking this to take advantage of both the newer hardware and the popularity of the Souls-like subgenre. BluePoint came at this from a perspective of reverence for the original, and Sony gave them every opportunity to make it as good as they could. Stop being so jaded about this.
@@johncrafton8319 exactly, a lot of people forget that Sony was hand in hand with from soft for the original Demons Souls....you could give them partial credit for helping to popularise the Souls genre
Lol, this team was put together to completely remake a game that they werent the makers of, and ps5 and its tech is brand new, i think its hilarious that that takes away from any hype of the dualsense; not realistick bluepoint games wouldve had time to implement all the features of the controller into every crevice of the game man.
Ooof! Matty.. I love your content and have subscribed for years, but the people have spoken. The numbers on these Demon Souls videos not too good. Then again I’m sure you expected it since Bethesda type RPG fans probably don’t crossover much.
Knock it off. Plenty of us like Skyrim (actual RPGs) while also liking the SoulsBorne games (which aren't RPGs). I figure there's more than enough crossover.
Y’all help me out, what chair is Matt using??? I want one like that specifically and except replace the red with white. (I could be wrong, but from what I’ve seen it’s the classic series? But none are available on DXRacer website)
Bloodborne 2 was the next gen game we needed and never got. Or Elden Ring. Seriously though Demon Souls is a great game beautifully remastered but not the game that was “needed”.
I dont see how this game is a "must have". It is just a fresh coat of paint.... be it a next-gen coat of paint. Its the same AI, similar bugs and glitches as the original. Its more of a Remaster than a Remake. Remakes usually have fundamental changes and Remasters are just updated graphics which is what this game is. Yea new animations and structures.. blah blah blah. So you guys need to calm down and saying this game is a must have because it's just not. Its the same as the original just much prettier. Kudos to Bluepoint for making it true to the original and looking so good. But its not a must have game as its just the same game as it was 10 years ago.
Couldn't agree more, I played the original back on ps3 and it's really a missed opportunity that there wasn't any substantial new content implemented as well as the janky ai and combat being left intact. Bluepoint played this remaster not remake imo extremely safe the combat looks very dated compared to newer souls entries and bloodborne is still far superior overall Furthermore what i would have loved to see happen would have been the 6th archstone added for quality new content and the combat speed being faster and the enemy ai being updated...as it stands outside of looking gorgeous i believe this game will provide very little replay value for veterans that have already played it on ps3
The only problem with Demons Souls is it's so easy once you've beaten it. Thats the only reason why I didn't buy the remake. I found Demon's Souls super easy compared to the other FromSoft games which are also now easy.
The reply below is not correct. The beauty of the PS5 3D audio is that it works with any headphones. In the same way that Dolby Atmos does on Xbox. The really serious trick is that early next year Sony will be updating the 3D audio so that it works on speakers as well :)
You need to go rent a room. LOL When I say "Demon Souls" do you get goose bumps? Good video - razzing because I saw your DS PS5 stream. Like that spider boss (smiles at all the arachnophobes - makes spider fingers).

This is an action RPG. you travel to any world in any order after the prolouge. And not to mention the character building systems. The choices in this game are with game play and character, instead of story
@@123cornflakeman No matter where you go your still fighting monsters! Is there a magic only option or can fights ever be resolved without hacking & slashing? Skyrim style games are RPGs not this. Its a good game but it's not an RPG.
@@glbernini0 everything in skyrim is resolved with hacking and slashing except a few story segments maybe a few times that you can persuade or intimidate a random mob doesnt add anything except saving 2 minutes skyrim also removed attributes that was in the previous games a must for rpg's which lately is being side lined by many games. In what fighting game do you have to have a certain stat to wear armor or use specific weapons or magic?
The term 'RPG' has been bastardized for decades, veeeery few games adhere to the strict term anymore. Demons Souls has stats and you level up, i.e. it's an RPG
@@hibarikyoya854 I disagree that games need attributes or heavy stat management to fit as an rpg better. Attributes are largely just number representations of something that can be accomplished by other means. Technically Skyrim didn't remove Attributes, they were folded into 3 choices per level up that essentially gave similar results as Attributes without needing to pad skill level ups just to get a favored result for each Attribute. Skyrim let you choose Magicka(Intelligence), Health(Endurance), or Stamina/Carry weight(Strength) when you leveled up. The way attributes worked before became annoying and were not intuitive, having to micromanage skill level ups just to get a +5 on a specific attribute was ridiculous and felt like you were gimping your character by not adhering to this design. You were basically forced to use certain skills to level your favored attributes the way you wanted. Thinking back, if you level certain ways, you actually could gimp your character where you are fighting enemies much better than you because of the way the leveling and scaling systems worked, being counterproductive in the end because you practically stayed the same or got weaker while the enemies outpaced you. I would argue that in many ways, Skyrim is better than the previous games. One example would be the perk system, this gives Skyrim MUCH more build variety, flexibility, and customization than the attributes ever accomplished. So while attributes are nice, they aren't "a must for rpgs".
I am aware that Google rates this as a RPG but google is wrong. This is a Action Adventure. Thats like saying God of war was a RPG. No Final fantasy is a RPG. the J in JRPG just means Japan and that was only a thing recently

No, we don't need a 10 year old bad game with better graphics. We need new games.
Watching this while I wait for my PS5 to get delivered so I can play this and miles morales
Dude it's so damn great, your gonna love it!
@@rozwelljones4976 Yeha I think I will, ive played all the other recent from soft ware games
I just realized you dont have a review for sekiro. Did you even play it?
Only reason I envy the ps5. Hope Sony ports this to PC eventually like horizon
So you want him to talk about Bethesda news even when there is no news to talk about?
Knock it off. Plenty of us like Skyrim (actual RPGs) while also liking the SoulsBorne games (which aren't RPGs). I figure there's more than enough crossover.
I beat demon souls by myself back in the day good game
Y’all help me out, what chair is Matt using??? I want one like that specifically and except replace the red with white. (I could be wrong, but from what I’ve seen it’s the classic series? But none are available on DXRacer website)
Bloodborne 2 was the next gen game we needed and never got. Or Elden Ring. Seriously though Demon Souls is a great game beautifully remastered but not the game that was “needed”.
Sucks it's too expensive to buy ps5 right now for me in china, demon's souls sounds punishing and fun
They're honestly some of the hardest combat based games ever made. DeS is a bit more challenging than all the DkS tho imo
Its not a next gen game. It just looks
What make a "next gen game" in your book?
Bluepoint played this remaster not remake imo extremely safe the combat looks very dated compared to newer souls entries and bloodborne is still far superior overall
Furthermore what i would have loved to see happen would have been the 6th archstone added for quality new content and the combat speed being faster and the enemy ai being updated...as it stands outside of looking gorgeous i believe this game will provide very little replay value for veterans that have already played it on ps3
The only problem with Demons Souls is it's so easy once you've beaten it. Thats the only reason why I didn't buy the remake. I found Demon's Souls super easy compared to the other FromSoft games which are also now easy.
RUclipsrs have just become Video Wikki.
✨Every day’s great at your Junes! ✨
Matty, which headphones did you use?
Sucks that this isn't on PC. Would be playing the shit out of it right now.
Gee I sure wish I could play it, oh wait, I can't because I can't buy a fucking PS5
Mark Cerny said they were going to have an app to map your ear for 3D audio. What happened with that?
Will you get the same 3D audio experience from regular PC headphones or do you need the PS5's Pulse 3D headset?
Its gotta be a 3D audio headset to get 3d audio output
The reply below is not correct. The beauty of the PS5 3D audio is that it works with any headphones. In the same way that Dolby Atmos does on Xbox. The really serious trick is that early next year Sony will be updating the 3D audio so that it works on speakers as well :)
@@divinitymode9364 really? Nifty, I just assumed you needed the specific tech
@@divinitymode9364 nice I cannot wait for it to support speakers. My home theater room shall be waiting for me to play these new systems.
Where do you stream?
I would love to play this game, but I'm not paying €575 for it. Especially not after what Sony did with the CoD multiplayer.
06:05 Triggered?
I'll see myself out.
You need to go rent a room. LOL
When I say "Demon Souls" do you get goose bumps?
Good video - razzing because I saw your DS PS5 stream.
Like that spider boss (smiles at all the arachnophobes - makes spider fingers).
I don't think it'll happen but I hope it comes to PC
@PlayerSince90s I dunno. I think like the original and bloodbourne it'll stay exclusive. But I'll keep my hopes up!
Is that a Junes shirt with Nanako?
If there’s no bonfires then how the hell do you save your progress?
I hate when they say that.
There are things that act exactly like bonefires but they are technicly not burning bones so "ThEy ARen'T BonEFiREs."
Yeah there’s stones that demons drop and that’s your porting place, never played dark souls but for what it’s said it’s that these stones are less prevalent in demon souls than bonfires in dark souls
Plunge attack wasn't in DeS. They tried to keep it as faithful as possible
Some places they were faithful where they shouldn't have been, some places they weren't faithful when they should've been. Still can petty easily recommend it
Demon's souls 2 or Dark souls 1 remake 🤔
10,000 percent demons souls 2. Remakes are cool and all but new games are always better

Just level strength to wear heavy armor lol. Photo mode can remove helmets for screenshots
Why does the main character running animation looks like his got some sort of a spinal injury?
Maybe cause they gotta haul around 100 pound armor
There's actually two animations you choose from in the beginning of the game and I'm glad I didn't miss out on picking the one I wanted.
Have you ever tried sprinting in full plate mail lol
Me just sitting here not being able to play it due to the PS5 selling out in like 5 seconds
Have to just pay extra get it off someone! Cheers mate
It would be if it wasn't exclusive so more people could have enjoyed it but whatever it is what it is I'll try it in a few years when I can get a cheap used ps5
They should put the original version on ps4 for people who couldn't get a ps5
It'll never happen due to who owns the IP and distribution rights, its a mess lol
How is this game an RPG? Theres only 1 role you can play in this! You can never choose to go off & do something different. This is a fighting game.
Demons Souls has stats and you level up, i.e. it's an RPG
@@hibarikyoya854
I disagree that games need attributes or heavy stat management to fit as an rpg better.
While this game is awesome like the rest of them, dear god do you feel the lack of bonfires and Estus. It can... be... rough.
I wish the ps5 wasn’t so difficult to get
Dolby atmos with headphones on xbox series x also kick ass
Do games have dolby audio?
I am aware that Google rates this as a RPG but google is wrong. This is a Action Adventure. Thats like saying God of war was a RPG. No Final fantasy is a RPG. the J in JRPG just means Japan and that was only a thing recently

Lupin from Harry Potter.
