IS STARLINK WORTH IT?

  • After a long battle of having AT&T, Xfinity, and another third-party internet service come to the property to see if we can get a decent internet connection. AT&T said no, Xfinity said no, so we went with a third party provider that lasted us 5 days of internet per month for around $100 every month. Finally, we were sick of the internet lagging and basically not being able to do anything internet related we dropped the third-party and ordered Starlink. It came today and took me maybe 25 minutes to set up.
In this video you will see me setting up Starlink in real time and boy was it fast. I am so pleased with how it is working so far I can't keep the grin off my face.
So the question is.... Is Starlink worth it?
    100% yes.
If you're in an area that gets no service whatsoever, Starlink has your back!

Yep it’s worth it. Had dsl with 20mbps. That dsl started dropping in mid use for about 5 minutes about 8 times at evenings. Had tech to come fix it. They didn’t fix it and just took 300 on a service call that was on their end. Luckily they refunded it. Starlink was installed yesterday. Had to put it on a 25 ft pole to clear obstructions. This morning in light rain I was getting 350 Mbps speed. But of course it doesn’t stay there it might drop to 80 at night but it works and it’s better than the dsl we had. Btw on Fortnite I was seeing 15 to 30 ping.

Constant short outages in clear weather for a year now, has never gone down in an actual storm lol.

SpaceX recently said that they will provide free Starlink service for the rest of the year to people in areas impacted by the recent hurricanes. Its crazy to me that its so expensive to pretty much be at the bottom of the bucket for performance. Its literally just only better than other satellites and lte. Even 4g would probably better if setup correctly. Once 5g is everywhere in the USA, what would be the point of owning a starlink device with those latency jitter issues. The only reason I complain is because its way overpriced for the speed. If you can get 5g, please set it up properly with an antenna and call it good.

My main issue is how expensive starlink is.. $120usd or more is worth gig speeds which is there plan its just so far away. 5g towers will be everywhere soon. So that'll probably be the next best option for a while. When it does arrive.
