Check out this week's video and learn if these are need protection or just plain ugly. Let me know in the comments your opinion. Thanks for watching and ride safe. If you haven't yet subscribed, I would be honored if you would consider doing so.
I’ve just installed mine this past weekend and I got mine from the dealership because I wasn’t sure if the aftermarket ones would be made out of strong material. Great video and i always enjoy watching them.
I put some aftermarket ones on and probably watched this video 2-3x before I installed my saddlebag guards. I bought the drag specialties guards which are 1.25in diameter like the engine guard. (OEM was 7/8 in diameter in rear) Mine didn’t come with cut supports which I bought from Etsy. Great video and you just earned me as a subscriber!
Thank Josh for watching and subscribing. I've seen the drag specialty saddlebag guards. Those do look awesome with that thick bar. Thank you for your support and ride safe. 👍✌️👊
Thanks for watching and commenting. I have only used Ebay or Amazon guards on my bikes with no issues. No need to spend more money when you don't need to do so. Ride safe and enjoy. 👍✌️👊
Saddle bag guards are a necessity. I’ve dropped my Limited on loose gravel and I’ve watched highly skilled riders drop bikes after loosing footing at a stop light. With them - the bike rests on the front engine guard, floor board and rear saddle bag guard. No big deal. Without - you’re probably breaking something valuable.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Saddlebag guards are a small investment to save on big Saddlebag repairs or replacement should you drop the bike. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
I am glad to tell you that I never dropped a HD but … I dropped my Triumph twice (so I scratched both saddle bags but they are black and fibreglass so it won’t be too bad to fix it. I may simply use black wrap) I never installed the crash bars because they are USD 750 for the front and 450 for the back. Great video Rick !
Thanks Eddie for watching and commenting. If the bike isn't protected during a drop the damage can be bad and expensive. This is cheap insurance for a slow speed drop. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
I thought these protective rubbers didn't exist .... I think to order them immediately I prefer to ruin the protective rubbers rather than repaint the saddlebag guards and the engine guard… very interesting video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

Done subscribed a couple of days ago, btw also pulled the trigger on the head pipe installing also man I hesitated bike week coming up in Daytona heading home soon for it and work on the bike first... Ride safe 👊
Good video I’m going to get some. I know you said you have used those before and asked for opinions. I surely don’t have a $45,000 CVO but something about putting an eBay special on that bike just doesn’t seem right. I’m not say you have to go HD but a quality aftermarket company just seems like the route I would go. Keep up the great work
Thanks Joe for watching and commenting. I get your point. Frankly I've seen the Harley version on friends bikes and really no difference and I've run these on my other bikes with no issues. Thanks for watching and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Awesome video Rick I was really waiting for this release. I might consider these covers. I have my saddlebags guards on the way as I watch. Will this saddle bag guard protect whole bag during drop? I heard it will not but since you dropped it I thought I will ask. Really dig updated background looks really nice, great job! Seems like we are getting ready for this season.
Thanks Art. As always I appreciate your kind words and support. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming riding season...although I have pretty much been able to ride through the winter. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
@@HDVIBE I am actually surprised as some said this rear part of the bag is unprotected since it is hanging lower than the front section. Good to hear that and thanks for sharing this news
Thanks Kelly for stopping by. I agree.. it's much less expensive to change out saddlebag guards than saddle bags. I appreciate the kind words and support. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
I'm not exactly sure what your question relates to but, the saddlebag guards don't have any impact on the clearances as compared to without the guards. 👍
Thanks for the comment. I have had this version on my other bikes for years with no rust or issues. I'm hopefully these will perform well also. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊👍✌️
Thank you Ernie for subscribing. I purchased the Pro Guards from Ebay. If you go into the description, there is a direct link to the guards that slip over the engine guard and saddlebag guards. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍

My guess is if they are 5 inch stretched bags, you may not find guards that will extend that much. The CVO style stretched bags are about a 4 inch stretch in the back and these saddlebag guards to protect them. I have dropped the bike doing slow speed maneuvers and bags never hit the ground. The guards did their job. 👍👊✌️

Don’t buy the eBay saddlebag guards. They are junk. I wasted my time installing them, then taking them right back off. The bags do not sit on the bar and are about a half inch away from the rubber bushing on the saddlebag. Your saddlebag will most likely break or crack if you have this condition and put anything in it. Very disappointed in this recommendation.
Thanks JT for sharing your experience. Sorry it didn't work out well for you. I have used the ones I noted in the video on now 5 bikes. Fit and finish has been very good. There are certainly a lot of different ebay options however, the link I put in the description to the ones I use have been good. I also provided the link to the HD version in the description if the viewers prefer to go OEM. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
