The cat on cow episode reminded me of when my old cat decided to hunt a moose. We watched her stalk the moose and thought she'd give up, but she wasn't that smart. Instead, she jumped on its back and dug in her teeth and claws. The moose took off into the woods with the cat still hanging on. The cat came back the next day, casually strolling in as if nothing special had happened.
I saw this before watching and it made me worried about ginny being inside the house instead of outside I’m glad they’re okay 😄 and yeah ginny is so cute. She’s a social butterfly 😍

I think this is the kind of video you look back in 20 years and remember the good ol' days when everyone was young and energetic. In 20 years there would be new cats, maybe some grandpuppers of Toby, and all the chestnuts would be mature. It's a long way away but it sounds quite lovely.

I'm from a long line of farmers and it's nice to someone who loves the ups and downs of farm life. I'm unable to live the life but can definitely enjoy experience it through watching your videos daily. It would be nice to see a horse (or two) but I know that you have plenty to deal with. You're blessed to have friends like you have. If you're planning on growing then does that mean a farmhand in the future? God bless you and Allison. Please give Toby dog a big hug for me. Interesting to see how well Ginny gets along with the cattle, they didn't really mind her sitting on top of them I think. For Ginny that must have been a cozy place on such a cold day 😃
That was one of the coolest "day in the Life" that I have seen. Not to say that the previous ones weren't any good. They're all good. Just that this was one of the great ones so far. Just love your productions for a storyteller.

Couple tips: chicken stock is more than just bones. Celery, carrots, onions, garlic, and LOTS of bones. Some wine If you have it. It's supposed to be concentrated flavor, not just chicken water. I used to pick out the bones, onions and garlic, and add the rest to my dog's food, after I strained the solids. #2 when you are cooking something, taste it as you go. That way if you need to add more seasonings, you're going to have plenty of time to make sure it tastes like it's supposed to. Taste that cooked filling before you put it in pastry. Also, you can add a little salt and pepper, and other aeasonings to your pastry after you put the egg wash on it.

I really enjoyed this video! Thank you for making it and sharing it with us. I’m glad you don’t have to worry about a separate day job any more. This couldn’t have happened without bold planning, extremely hard work, perseverance, and dedication to making your dream life real. Respect! Sheets, like clothing, come with a stiffening agent (sizing) to help them lie flat and probably also some kind of preservative and/or anti-bug additive. That is why you always wash new ones before the first use. I didn’t learn about the warm wondefulness of cotton flannel sheets in cold weather until I moved to New England. I totally agree with what you say about what a huge difference they make in keeping cozy. I think more people know about flannel sheets now than then. Note to first time flannel sheet users: a lot of fluffy lint will come off onto the filter the first time they go through the dryer. That’s normal, not a concern.
I use a flannel top sheet, but I like a regular bottom sheet. Yes, flannel makes it much easier to go to bed in the winter. I also use a microwave heated hot pack in my bed, first where the back goes, then lower down, yum. I turn easier with the plain sheet on the bottom. Get good ones if you get flannel sheets. I have some that are old, like 20 + years. Heavy weight, made in Portugal. Sleep well..... :-)
I've got to give you credit Morgan, you put the pillow tag on the inside of the pillowcase. A+ bed making there. Now let's see how you do with hospital corners.👍
I have suggestion about the meat pies: Did you season them? Unsure if you did not or just didn’t show it. Make sure you add salt/pepper to meat and then veggies. Also garlic powder, thyme and cumin. (A thin shaking of garlic and a few pinches of the thyme, maybe just a pinch of cumin. Cumin goes a long way.) The gluten-free pastry seems thin. Double it up so it’s thicker and cut in thirds. Then, add the meat and fold over like individual turnovers (so there’s more pastry per bite). You only need to pinch (w/fork) the open edges, not the folded part. Poke w/fork on top to allow steam to escape but just tiny pokes. So great that you’re trying to make a fav dish for your wife. Looks like you’re living a nice life which is awesome!
Oh my, the shearing pin breaking just brought back childhood memories. We have a craftsman snowblower and it worked great until the shear pin broke. Always at the end of the driveway. My dad always had spare shear pins on hand. Funny as an adult, it has never happened. Probably shouldn’t have said that. 😂 We do not own a craftsman.
It’s Night time and 18°. That’s nothing compared to -12 I can’t imagine that. We have a windchill of 3° right now and I’m so thankful that our power is still working over here in Texas unlike last year around this time. I feel like I can’t complain when Y’all have -12°
You need a new segment - “Coffee Time With Alfred”. What was the final score for the meat pie? I love watching the Great British Baking Show. Good night, Morgan, Allison, and the whole Gold Shaw Farm family. Thank you for another great episode.
OR they should do a podcast. That would be pretty cool, they're both pretty smart men so it would be cool just to hear them talk about different topics.
Ginny is hilarious! I loved seeing her rodeo and it's so cool how they come to you when you call them in at night. Great spending the "day" with you all
Everyone is so happy now that you're a full time farmer. Toby, the barn cats, all of the birds, the cattle, Allison, and us (the viewers). Would love top pick your brain on being a novice farmer as I'm coming into inheritance of a smaller "hobby" farm.
Ooh! Squeaky snow! Proof it's cold! 😁 Also--about warm compost--when I worked at a stable, during the summer, you could see smoke rising from the muck pile (we used wood shavings) and several times there were small flames! (It was close to 95-100 degrees...) Interesting how that works.
Greetings from Salt Rock, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. I love the snow. An amazing "day in the life" you are blessed. We have a hurricane off the coast, not a direct hit but close enough of weather warning. Rain only. Have a great weekend. Best wishes. Karen
I had to chuckle at my own mind’s travel! You were letting the chickens out, holding their door open with a stick. Nobody came out. As I was looking at the opening, I half way expected to see a chicken come out, giving the stick a swift kick and running back inside real quick! I’ve got a cartoon mind! 🥴
He propped openthe silkiecoopwoth a stick. Nd was surprised to see Bernie, Penelope, and a rooster out (near their coop) later. I gather that they came out when the sun was up to look for food and wayer and get sone ftrsh air and weak sun.
I'm so happy that you have more time for the farm to relax and get other things done you've been wanting to do I'm sure its made things less stressful for you giving you a better quality of life
It's really nice you sometimes show temperatures in Celcius as well. I'm Polish and it's really hard for me to learn and "feel" Fehrenheit scale, despite living in the city where Daniel Fehrenheit was born ;) (city of Gdańsk/Danzig in northern Poland)
Just got home yesterday from the hospital and still laying low recovering from surgery. Yesterday I found your channel and subscribed. I’ve been binge watching since. I seriously love your channel.
I LOVE A DAY IN THE LIFE VIDEOS. THANK YOU MORGAN. Those are some good sheets. I just bought a set of really really nice cotton sheets.. The egg dish there is not relatively healthy, it is very healthy. Eggs including yolks have had a lot of crap thrown at them and many new studies find eggs really good for u.
I'm really glad to see that y'all are doing well, covid took out a lot of relationships these past years I'm glad y'all are strong. Y'all seem like y'all are good for each other, best of wishes to y'all's the future 😄
Hi Morgan, I'm in sunny central Florida so it's interesting watching how you manage farming in your climate. Toby is an awesome LGD and he clearly loves his life. I'm looking forward to the new puppy arriving. Stay warm. 🙂
In cities, roaming cats often seek out broken basement windows and take shelter in the basements. If your basement has a little, openable window, then leaving that open will allow the cats to voluntarily come into and leave the basement. It's additionally beneficial due to how cats don't have such day-night cycles as us and love hunting in the night.
Your nordic sweater reminds me of the 28 I knit one Christmas for my family members. Same colours and design. Loved watching the cat ride your highland cow. So darn cute.
I love watching Ginnys cute little feet pattering along! And that purr of hers! 😍 I'm glad the barn cats have the option of coming in on these sub-zero nights too..All the animals and birds on your farm seem so contented! That reflects so well on you as a farmer & a person..I love your videos and always look forward to the next one! 🙂🙂🙂
I'm gonna assume that you washed the sheets after you made the bed... because it made more sense to film taking them out of the package and putting them on the bed...
I love love love your videos! I grew up on a farm. We had cows, chickens, ducks, and horses. Your videos bring back memories and help me reflect and calm down for the day.
Ugh, I love watching your videos. Ducks have become my favorite animal all because of you. And I was so psyched when you got the highland cattle because they're my favorite kind of cows. And I found you before you even got Toby. XD I just love your videos, and seeing you thrive and your farm thriving. It's amazing. I've watched almost all your videos for the last couple years, and just. Thank you~ Thanks for sharing your life with all of us.
What a great day on the farm with the farmer and wife! So interesting to see how you take care of the farm on such COLD days. Congrats on going full-time! Keep filming and sharing your days with us, THANK YOU! :D
I love that you take the time to spend with Allison and do nice things for her and remember things that are important for her and go the extra mile of remembering what she likes to eat and playing board games and watching television together n cuddle a little bit so sweet and letting the cats in n taking good care of the dogs and making sure all the geese are in such a great guy!
been totally addicted to this channel from when you had that mink attack before you got toby. such great wholesome content. its been such a pleasure watching your channel grow, keep up the great work!
Had to laugh at the cat on the cow. If you like things like the meat pie, try looking up how to make a "Runza." It's a German version of a meat pie, there is a restaurant chain by the same named based in Omaha, Nebraska, and there are fans that travel to Omaha once or twice a year, and buy a bunch of frozen ones from the chain to take home and put in their freezers to enjoy later.
Just wanted to say... I love your videos! Glad I found you guys. The funny names you give all your pets and farm animals show how much you love them. I think it's wonderful that you have been able to quit your office job and do something you enjoy. I also commend you on being pretty transparent about your weaknesses and facing them head on and trying to always improve. I live in central MS and love seeing your beautiful state and all it has to offer. So interesting. We all can't and shouldn't try to be like anyone else. What a boring world this would be. I enjoy how you seem to face problems... listen and learn from others. And then come to your own conclusions! Continue to help Allison with those house chores and cooking and she will keep giving you those smiles! We like a man that SHOWS his love and doesn't just say IT!!!
On my grandparents’ farm, the barn cats would always snuggle up on the back of a cow once they went into their stalls for the night. The cows paid no mind to it - they were too busy munching on hay!
This is a wonderful video because you are sharing so much of your personal life and even your home. Loved when you and Allison were so relaxed, watching videos together,,,,, and I love seeing you less stressed.
Go ‘head Morgan! You’ve re-inspired me!! I noticed the leaner you when I was catching up on Shaw Farm vids two days ago. Since then, I started back my morning workout routine AND I went on a little hike today. Thanks Morgan!!
Sometimes I think about doing what you do, but then I remember all of the hard, heavy work you and your wife do and I change my mind 😅. I just really enjoy watching your farm's story. I can't wait for your book still ❤
2 things. 1.I can't tell you how many lost finger stories I heard as a kid regarding plugged frozen snowblowers. Always use a stick. NEVER your hand. 2. Puppy Puppy Puppy Puppy Puppy Puppy Puppy. Can't wait. Love your videos and seeing you so happy!!!
Morgan, you are just the nicest and authentic person. Love all your animals. You’ll do great with this new adventure. Your videos are always worth watching.
Great video. Ginny riding the cow was hilarious. But what I find the most endearing if your laugh every time one of the animals does something funny. It is very clear how much you love but also just enjoy those animals.
I have a tip for bed sheets: turn the sheets wrong-side up. Put your hands in the opening, and grab two corresponding corners of the pillow/blanket. Then with a hand movement, flip the sheet over the pillow/blanket. I takes some practice
That was a great video! Genie the barn cat she is a hoot love that cat. Pablo is a handsome big fella and the farm looks absolutely cold! We're here in Texas and we're starting to get some ice for me... But it's nothing like that! Take care looking forward to the next video
Parcheesi! Best game on the planet! I and my 3 cousins spent hundreds or thousands of hours playing this game when all else failed, and it never ceased to keep us entertained. I am green. I was always green and will always be green--and green will be Victorious! 😃😃😃😃
Lol. Would you wash before use? I was so embarrassed when I didn't wash a new shirt and someone asked and commented, 20+ years ago, if it was new and that it smelt new... so embarrassed and awkward that I've washed 1-2 times before use. I'm so 🤪!

@@kristineteall368 YES!
This is currently my fave video from you. Because of how honest it is, how happy you are and the quality of the editing.
Ahh the little cat paws are soo cute, and the little meow..I love your channel!! I wish you the best, take care☺
My mother died a second time watching you put UNWASHED new sheets an pillow cases on your bed. Lordy, she is glaring at you from beyond
Ginny is a Star! I love her purrs and her little feet; she makes me smile. The cattle have settled in well. Great work, Mr and Mrs Shaw! Thanks
You should put the leftover hay and cow manure you scoop up into the greenhouse for the chickens and geese to eat up and scratch at!
Really happy for you man, glad I could be a part of your farm. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Me, too, giggle!!!
He propped openthe silkiecoopwoth a stick. Nd was surprised to see Bernie, Penelope, and a rooster out (near their coop) later. I gather that they came out when the sun was up to look for food and wayer and get sone ftrsh air and weak sun.
These videos can mean a lot. Thanks, Morgan (as well as Alison, Alfred, and your other guests).
Aaaaw, love mom’s painting of the barn!! Sooo cool.
I seriously love your channel.
seeing you work out and noticing the progress, has made me smile! Happy to see you are well!
The cattle backs are nice and warm! Holding onto the furry hides works. It is so nice to see how you allow your animal pals blossom.
I love it when you put a camera collar on Ginny Barn Cat. The Ginny Cam is a great name for it.
Um, you know you have to wash sheets before you use them, right? Linens come with a sizing on them that you need to wash out before making the bed.
I love love love your videos! I grew up on a farm. We had cows, chickens, ducks, and horses. Your videos bring back memories and help me reflect and calm down for the day.
So you are basicly saying you are a stay at home husband.
Love it!!!
Well technically no, he works from home. I think stay at home kinda implies the person does not work remotely.
@@migueljardim8177 he quit that job. Now he just farms
@@leannemori9688 Yea, but farming and being a content creator is his new job.
Good to hear that you're staying safe and warm, love the barn cats.
Toby is probably thinking cold out? I’m warm enough! Of course he’s warm enough! Look at his coat!!! Now that’s a warm coat!!
I always ENJOY your videos, but this one was specially enjoyable. Your little Cowgirl was so cute!😙😄
Thanks for sharing your day with us.
This was an awesome video. A nice slice of life of an unconventional farmer. Plus, any video with Ginny, Pablo and Toby Dog, is a good video.
On my grandparents’ farm, the barn cats would always snuggle up on the back of a cow once they went into their stalls for the night. The cows paid no mind to it - they were too busy munching on hay!
Wow- 30 whole minutes of Goldshaw wonderfulness. What a lovely video- thx so much for sharing ❤
This is a wonderful video because you are sharing so much of your personal life and even your home.
Loved when you and Allison were so relaxed, watching videos together,,,,, and I love seeing you less stressed.
You're an artist and your videos keep getting better all the time. You always bring a huge smile to my face, so thank you. :-)
Hi Allison, its good to see you from time to time!👋
Go ‘head Morgan!
I can't wait for your book still ❤
Ginny is a hoot! I bet , eventually, the cattle will get used to her riding them.
Thank you so much for mentioning Lenny! I'm glad that he's still out and about!
Any time I see Morgan playing VR I want to ask if he's playing Virtual Farm Simulator 😂
Super duper immersion
2 things.
1.I can't tell you how many lost finger stories I heard as a kid regarding plugged frozen snowblowers. Always use a stick. NEVER your hand.
2. Puppy
Puppy
Puppy
Puppy
Puppy
Puppy
Puppy.
Thank you for adding the temperatures in ° C, so we dont have to do the conversion
Ok. It was only in the begining of the Video, but i liked it.
Small thing but as someone from the UK I really appreciate how you put the temp in Celsius on the screen
It's been so cold this week. Today was -20 F, with the windchill -35 F. Definitely had me wishing I worked an indoor job!
I'm so 🤪!
Im 11yrs old really want a farm and cant wait for your book looks so intersting!
already can tell it will be a good video
