Hi I do enjoy your videos,I can’t get enough videos that have gardens in them. I moved here to a small city where my first born Son and family live. But I live in an apartment and I miss my gardens and canning even though I know I can’t do it anymore. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🥰🤗
Ms Lori , I agree with you on the side dishes they are the Star of the show.. I love pea salad Ms Lori. Thank you so much for sharing..hugs n love you all.
Mr Brown, will you make a video when and how you plant your potatoes? My dad always had a huge potato garden. He used a mule and plow. Now I’m not asking you to do that ! 😄 but I remember as a little girl walking behind him picking up potatoes. Dads gone now and I’m trying to get back to my roots and become self sustainable. I enjoy your videos! Keep them coming and a BIG Thank You !
Making your soft rolls again today. Family has gone through five batches already. They requested them for breakfast over the weekend. I made them and froze them. I will throw and let them rise them a couple hours before we eat. It works out great. Thanks, I think…I have to stay away from them. I do use swerve brown sugar in the filling. God Bless you folks and Happy 4th of July. There is a spiritual wind blowing across the nation as we are seeing answered prayers. Tell Mr. B to keep on during the Lord’s work. Honored to know God’s people, and my family thanks you for teaching me not to be afraid of yeast and flour.
I just learned how delicious pea salad is. I never heard of it til this spring. My hubby loves it.😊😊😊. He would eat every week. I don't eat tomatoes , so it was better tasting. My mom made early spring peas with tiny onions in a cream sauce.
my sister in law made super great pea salad and I never got the recipe before she passes and lo and behold today I watched you and there it was, just in time for me to make for our 4th celebration, and I have all here that I need, thank you so much and you and Mr Brown have a good holiday with your family. God Bless you all.
it is amazing how many different pea salad recipes there are. I grew up with pea salad but my mom's recipe has elbow macaroni, tuna fish, onions, peas, hard boiled egg and mayo. Yours looks good, though.
This is almost exactly like the way my Mom and her sisters made pea salad. The only difference is they never put tomatoes but added about a teaspoon or so of white sugar. The sugar brings out the flavours nicely. Thank you for posting this Miss Lori. Have a great 4th!🇺🇲❤️🥰🙏🇺🇲
My grandma used to make kidney bean salad. It was so simple. 2 cans of kidney beans drained and rinsed well, 2 hard boiled eggs, salt and pepper, Miracle Whip (she used Spin Blend), celery and onion. I loved it so much.
This is a favorite of my family's. Never made it with tomato though. We always had for Easter as a side and then my Granny would "bulk it up" with chopped up leftover ham. I just LOVE your recipes! You and the mister are my most favorite RUclipsrs! ♥️😁
I grew up eating pea salad although never added tomatoes. I no longer care for much cheese so I stopped adding that. There is just something about pea salad that takes me back in time. I love peas on my normal salad as well. Thank you for just being you and sharing your history through food with us.
My husband loves peas, think I will make this for him for the 4th. I didn’t see the link for the pepper grinder, really like that one. Thanks again Ms Laurie i love networking with God’s people. When i watch your videos I feel like I’m almost back home again.
Miss Lori you are the best cook 🍳I have ever seen. I love how you explain everything step by step. I was never taught how to bake or cook I had a very hard childhood. But I read alot so that help me. But know I have you.. love you. Love tara and kendall cox from five islands nova scoita Canada 🇨🇦❤💕
A really good salad is raw broccoli chopped small, small diced cooked ham, shredded cheddar cheese, raisins, and sunflower seeds. Then you mix it all up with mayo or Miracle Whip. I don't know the name of the salad or the measurements. I am an eyeball it cook. When I was little my Mom made pea and cheese salad. Those were the only two ingredients and she mixed it up with Miracle Whip. Years later she started adding chopped tomatoes and diced celery.. I liked that even better! Thank you for bringing back a great childhood memory for me!
I love frozen peas, I have to have them when I eat salads. This salad looks delicious, I will be making it.Those are some nice looking potatoes. Thanks for sharing the video
Another dish I am going to make. I made your Tomato Pie recipe the other day and my husband said to me….” This is a keeper” A simple dish with loads of flavor. I used sour dough bread cubes and added just a little oregano. Lori, I love old dishes and this and that’s…I would love to have a video of you showing us some of your collection of dishes and other stuff. I had lots of beautiful dishes that I gave to my daughter and daughter in law before we moved from the big house. I was very sad to get rid of them but we don’t have the room anymore. At least they are still in the family. I had such fun in my younger years going antiquing and collecting so many beautiful things.
You mean the tomato casserole, not pie? I used Italian seasoned salad croutons, mozzarella, Parm and cheddar cheese, and made three layers. It was delish! I'm making another one for Sunday.
I thought I was one of the few that loves Pea Salad. I would make a small batch similar to one at a restaurant. Never had it with tomatoes but it sounds great if there's lots of people. My solution would be adding tiny grape tomatoes last and leaving out the egg. I will definitely try your version soon. Hot weather means cold foods in my home. Thanks again for another great recipe!
My mother used to make pea salad when I was a kid who hated what we always called, English Peas. She never put tomatoes in it, and she always put Velveeta cheese cut up in tiny cubes in it. I would pick out the Peas and eat the rest of it. Love that soggy Velveeta!
Miss Lori! Thank you so much for all the canning recipes, the cold salads, breads, oh just everything! I have gone canning crazy! God bless you both and thank you for sharing with all of us! I am always talking about you like you are an old friend! Lorrie
Hey y'all, Looks totally Delicious!!! Yummy. I like easy and vintage so to speak. You all are such a, blessing. Believers in the Good Lord. Without him there would be no "us". Y'all's cooking, recipes, gardening, and just your every day home life blessed me so so much. Thank you for sharing all you do with us. Tell Mr. Brown it's time for him to do some dancing again and tell some good ole stories. You two are truly blessed to have one another. Keep it coming!!. God bless ya'll and keep you safe. Hugs and prayers for all of us. Love y'all. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤗🤗❤️❤️
Mrs. Lori, I LOVE your videos🥰 I always feel calm when I watch you. I have to say, I also Love looking around on your counter and kitchen, you have some of the most 1 of a kind amazing gadgets and kitchen items, like the white and black measuring cup with the handle. So charming...and the metal pepper mill. I love having cold salads in the summer, too hot for heavy meals. I would love to see a video showing some of your gadgets and the story of how you found them. Have a Blessed, safe and healthy 4th of July.
Oh NO Mrs Laurie...now I definitely have to add this to our menu tomorrow! Thank you for always sharing your wonderful recipes and life with us! God Bless Y'all!
Looks delicious! I called my grandma Nanny too! We’re from Tennessee but I don’t think we put tomatoes in it. My mom added added finely chopped cauliflower and ranch dressing rather than mayo. I added chopped cashews, bacon, green onions and cheddar cheese cubes. So now we call it 3rd generation pea salad. Hope you have a lovely holiday.
Sister Lori, I thought this sounded so good, I just had to try it! I had 32 oz. of peas, so I had a bit more than you did, and I wondered if 1/2 cup of mayonnaise would be enough, but it was perfect. I was tickled when I saw you use Duke's mayo. It's my favorite! I added just one thing you didn't: 1/2 tsp. of garlic powder. And our onions up here in Ohio have been super strong lately, even the sweets, so I used a large shallot instead. I just sampled it, and....oh, my goodness! That is soooooo delicious! Your recipe is just a big winner! I can hardly wait to have some tomorrow. I'm making stuffed tomatoes for my mom and aunt, and I'm serving the pea salad as a side. Then we're having pound cake with strawberries and whipped cream with tea later on. My best to you and Brother Paul. God is so good all the time!
I love pea salad! I am glad you showed your pepper grinder! I have been eyeing it on Amazon for awhile. I think I will have to get one!! Have a beautiful weekend and holiday. 🥰❤🙏🇺🇲
i love watching your videos because their your recipes and your life, their not copied from another channel. Your so humble and your voice is so sweet; Appreciate you poating and sharing with us.
My family made pea salad all the time. It's very simple to make, but the ingredients my family used just a little different. I never liked pea salad, but after my mother passed away, my brothers always came to me to fix them pea salad. I always made it to them. My last siblings passed away back in January, now its just me. When I see the pea I remember how I made it for my family. I'm so thankful I had that privilege to make it just like my mother did for my family. It's hard not making for them now. God bless you both and have a great 4th July.
My aunt Hazel back in Kentucky made her Pea salad just like your recipe and it was so delicious. Sometimes she added diced cubed Ham. Now i’m hungry and going to make some this weekend. My wife doesn’t care for Peas so the salad will be all mine. 😋
I live in Kennebec County, Maine. Maine is known mostly for its tourist industry and, of course, we are famous for our lobsters. Most people don't think of us as major potato producers, but we are! Must be a connection here? Love your channel. Happy 4th to you and Mr. Brown.
I used your recipe for the pea salad. Changed it up just a little to accommodate a low fat diet (heart attack). I omitted the cheese but added a little low fat diced ham, cut back on the mayo and just cause I could, I threw in two small cooked and diced red potatoes. It was delicious. Thank you for the inspiration I will definitely be making it again. With the ham and potatoes all I needed was a piece of corn bread, sadly without the butter but it was a complete meal and so nice to have a healthy, cold salad when the temps here in Austin are pushing into the 100's. Thank you again, love your videos.❤
My late MIL taught me to make pea salad many, many, many years ago. Her version used canned peas, but I used frozen peas, that I steam for a few minutes to get rid of the raw flavor. To the peas we add chopped boiled eggs, cubed cheddar, chopped red onion or sweet onion, chopped red sweet peppers, and mayo. For crunch, I add chopped water chestnuts, since we're not big fans of raw celery. I will try your version...I love tomatoes!
I will be making this recipe soon. It is wonderful to use frozen peas instead of those nasty canned peas. This is definitely a delicious recipe, thank you so much. Those potatoes look fantastic.
When I was growing up my mother didn't make pea salad or anything like that,my dad didn't like it. But when I got older & ate at other ppl houses, they had it & was so good!! Also can make with different vegetables instead of peas, have had salad with pork and beans,& black eye peas as well as green peas. Put whatever you like in it,I usually use green peas, drained, chopped onion, sweet relish, chopped boiled eggs, mayo or miracle whip, shredded cheese. Pork and beans drained is good,or black eye peas!!
Hi Mrs. Lori, my your salad does look yummy. Mom use to make pea salad when I was little, but she didn't put tomatoes in it . I think I like the addition of tomatoes. You and Mr. Brown have a very blessed and awesome week. Stay safe and stay well. Love ya.
This looks and sounds delicious! I've not had a pea salad like this before. Once I had peas, mayo and cheddar cheese cubes once at a friend's house, but this looks infinitely better! Thank you for always treating us like friends and sharing your recipes. We love you both.
Miss Lori I'm not a pea person but I think I would definitely try this recipe. Also we tried growing potatoes once and they never got very big. Yours look fantastic.
It is funny how some recipes you see are quite similar to those made in other families or parts of the country, while others are miles apart. We love pea salad, but mine is very simple and quite different from yours. I only use LaSueur tiny peas in the silver can. I just add pickles (usually bread and butter pickles), small cubes of Velveeta cheese, and Miracle Whip. Occasionally I add green onions, but my family frowns on straying from the original recipe. It is definitely better after it sits in the refrigerator for a few hours, or better yet overnight. This allows the cheese to get softer and a little creamy. I am going to give your recipe a try. It looks and sounds delicious, and it is pretty close to the macaroni salad we love.
My next salad to make! I made bean salad a week ago made pasta salad this week. We eat on them all week so then we just cook what ever meat we want for that night. With it hot now I don’t like to cook much. My green beans should be ready in about a week, hopefully I will get about 40 quarts! Nice video as always!
Your potatoes are beautiful. I see the dry soil. Praying that the Lord would bless your garden with a long slow rain. I would love to see a video on your favorite gadgets, even if you show one at a time.
Hello from your Texas friend! Looks good. I prefer salads like this, one of my favs. Glad everybody is doing well , same here. Take care and stay safe. xoxo
I never heard of a cold pea salad, so i made this and we loved it. I've made many times. A bag of frozen peas is never wasted in our house.
Wonderful!

I agree there is nothing better than the sides that go with the meal, love this salad thank you so much for sharing the recipe.
Will definitely try this salad I do love peas and old recipes god blessing on you all
Sister Lori, I thought this sounded so good, I just had to try it!
Wonderful!
I love a good broccoli salad too. I use apples, raisins, bacon, pecans, sugar, apple cider vinegar and mayo. It's delicious!!!

This salad looks great it would also be good with a little ham thanks for sharing
I just love you and your husband! I’m so happy I found you all! All my best to you from Tacoma, Washington
I look forward to seeing all your kitchen gadgets 💗you and MR.BROWN ARE WONDERFUL 🙏
