Kris and Rita made a majestic duo. If they'd also known how to remain a solid couple the world would probably never have been deprived of a constant flow of their timeless country classics.
Rita tried hard and was deeply in love with Kris. But he was a serious alcoholic and cheated on her all the time. There is only so much a person can take.
Cold Winter: Are you saying that Kris is the one to blame for the divorce? There is always to side of a story and Rita was not a saint. We will never know what realy happent between them, onley Kris And Rita knows.Yes i know that Kris was drinking alot and that he cheated on her, but that dident mean he dident love her. She took Casey with her and left when Kris was working on a movie, the onley thing Kris found when he came home was a letter. All i'm saying is,we cant blame Kris for everything because we dont know everything that happent betveen them.
I had never heard this song until today. Oh all things, I was watching an old rerun of the Flip Wilson show and saw Leana Horne singing it. I KNEW it had to a Kristofferson song. It sounds a little like Loving Her Was Easier. What s beautiful song!
Even though musically Rita and Kris were amazing, Lisa, his wife, has changed his life, probably saved it and put up with a lot over many years. And he and Rita are still friends.
Lyrics: You came smiling softly Shyly moving, easy as a dreamer, into my world Then before I realized the danger I found myself staring into your eyes Somewhere in their colors I saw promises of things I'd never seen before It's all over I've got to have you Holding onto, talking, saying nothing Knowing in a moment I could lose you Then without a warning I remember That you trembled at the touch of my hand Knowing when you came to me that No one else would ever feel the same in my arms It's all over I've got to have you Waking in the morning to the Tenderness of holding you asleep in my arms Dreaming while your hair was blowing Softer than a whisper on my cheek I don't know the feeling, so I don't know if it's love But it's enough, it's enough It's all over I've got to have you I just can't help it, no I've got to have you
they carried a third spiritual voice when they sang together,,,ok they were NOT the carpenters,,,but had kris behaved himself they would have outsold anyone vying for fame and the lights,,sometimes I wonder does it all matter ??
I think Rita had a tough time getting over Kris after the breakup. He moved on but I think Rita regretted walking out on him for just one lapse on his part. Who's to bless and who's to blame.
Rita in her own words was “heart broken” over multiple affairs Kris had. It was terribly difficult to leave him because she still loved him and said she would until the day she died. The drinking and recovery was difficult but she couldn’t live with the almost constant infidelity on Kris’s part. So sad😢
No, she said she gave him many chances, and finally left. She was lonely for too long while he was on the road, and she herself said there were other women.
What a beautiful love song ! So much talent ! I feel sorry for today’s generation who missed out on the “real” music of the 70s and 80s !
These two were just plain magical. Amazing chemistry.
Kris and I were piolets together in Germany enjoyed him always
And you can't even spell pilots?
I always love them and this is one of their best
Best moments in my life were spent listening to This
R.I.P. Kris. You will never be forgotten! :(

@@coldwinter5710 : thank you, I was going to say the same. kayem's comment is way out of line.
@@51488142 : If you've ever lived with an alcoholic, you would know that "Yes, there's "two sides" to their story: theirs and the bottle."
Amazing lyrics, they were electric together.
Beautiful performance. Beautiful composition.

AWESOME KRIS -
Lyrics:
You came smiling softly
Shyly moving, easy as a dreamer, into my world
Then before I realized the danger
I found myself staring into your eyes
Somewhere in their colors
I saw promises of things I'd never seen before
It's all over
I've got to have you
Holding onto, talking, saying nothing
Knowing in a moment I could lose you
Then without a warning I remember
That you trembled at the touch of my hand
Knowing when you came to me that
No one else would ever feel the same in my arms
It's all over
I've got to have you
Waking in the morning to the
Tenderness of holding you asleep in my arms
Dreaming while your hair was blowing
Softer than a whisper on my cheek
I don't know the feeling, so I don't know if it's love
But it's enough, it's enough
It's all over
I've got to have you
I just can't help it, no
I've got to have you
Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid is an unforgettable Kris/ Rita masterpiece.
If anyone can write a song it can only be KK the King of music
I just love his music it makes me relax
I love So Much Even now, it's been so long ago and your touch is still inside Me.
Damn. Stick it out and be happy.
fabulous melody, great song. an interesting comparison with Carly's version...like 'em both.
Kris wrote it!!

Extra!
Oh be careful baby you might be lovely enough to get me from a day. Oh God damn Jack Daniels
Why does the counter say 6.52 when the song only goes for 3 mins?

@@kathleennelson3465 I think she was the right woman for him at the wrong time. No offence to his current wife.

Kristofferson wrote this one too, apparently while he was dating Carly Simon.
Nice duet, but I prefer the Wendy Matthews version...she did a great cover of this song
Just heard that today omg it’s amazing!
