Hello, I’m from Brazil! For those who like information about Dimas' songs: The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). The dead singer (to whom Dimash was a fan) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.

According to the Internet (yeah, don't always trust it), his father told that the specific ethnic riff he is doing in this song is not specifically Kazakh, but his own (faster) interpretation of a Yakutian ethnic vocal tradition (see for instance this beautiful song by Lioudmila Khandi ruclips.net/video/rCfVBRB0fao/видео.html). But this kind of vocal technique should rather be regarded as world ethnic music, because similar technique is used for instance in the Sámi joik in northern Europe. Also yodeling uses the same technique (glottal stop or switching fast between chest and head register). Throat singing is then something totally different.

Italian singers call that method a trillo caprino.

The definitions of trillo caprino I have seen, suggests that it's a kind of a (sometimes described as badly performed) vibrato and consists of a trill on a single note or on two notes a semitone apart. Furthermore, this style of singing isn't common in the Bel Canto tradition. Disclaimer: I only have secondary school level degree in classical singing, so I'm no expert in Italian terminology.

Dimash is the greatest thing since the KING of Pop and i really appreciate the classical singers react to him because he declined an OPERA house oppertunity to persue his dream as as he states "I want to introduce to the world a new gendre in music POPERA (Pop+opera) neo classical". He couldv been the TOP CLASSICAL TENNOR of our time but he chose to go his own path and single handedly paving the way for POPERA refining both his Baritone and Soprano. I'm curious do you think Dimash is leading classical towards a good place by mixing it with pop or do you feel it has to stay Pure only as an Opera classical singer? If yes then do you personaly want to follow his footsteps to also do popera?Or must you be born with perfect pitch like dimash/Male in order to do what he does?is this achievable?or was he born with exceptional ability which others can only dream to attain?
Thank you for your comment! I think what Dimash is doing is really cool as he is creating a new genre! So in my opinion he is not leading classical music towards a bad place as he is not singing arias in a pop style. For me personally I don't mind doing either popera or opera since I love all genres! I would say its hard to be like Dimash as he is just that talented. For example I wouldn't be able to reach the low notes he can. But I would say its not impossible for someone else to do what he does it probably would just take a lot of practice and hard work.

Dimash's real Name is; Dinmukhammed katatuly kudaibergen. He is from kazakhstan a country that is dominantly Muslim and so is Dimash he is a devoted Muslim his grand parents taught him traditional Arabic as well as kazak music which he likes to add traditional sound to his music.

For those who love Dimash, two other must see singers are Zhou Shen and Hua Chenyu from China.
Zhou Shen has a high, feminine voice that often got him bullied in school. If his classmate only could have seen the talent in that voice.
As an introduction into Zhou "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye".
For something different from him, watch his version of "Ring the Doorbell" and "Da La Beng Ba".
His biggest success is the song "Big Fish".
Another singer that is highly rated is Hua Chenyu. One never knows what one will get with a Hua Chenyu song since he mixes genres and composes many of his own songs. He is an epic stage performer spilling his emotions into the audience so they can share in those emotions. He is also a master are redeveloping cover songs into his unique perspective.
I have a recommendation list, but it is not really in any particular order. "Nunchucks", "Child", I am what I am", "Fake Monk", "Friend", and "Dad, I'm Home".
Neither Zhou Shen or Hua Chenyu are the full package that Dimash displays, but they are both unique and special with their skills.

yes the jodol or futtering sound that he made is an Arabic sound in his country of Kazakhstan they are dominantly Muslim and they would make this sound in a song calling everyone to prayer.. listen to some kazak music or some calling to prayer in Islam Kazakhstan is surrounded by russia china and Islamic countries was ruled by the mongols , Islam and was part of the soviet union russia it is very diveresed everyone can speak kazak but the national language is russian.. he likes to use traditional sound sometimes in his music
