I appreciated all the "below 50 %" abilities. With high elves, if they receive a couple volleys before clashing in melee, they have spend half of their buff before even entering melee. This however, because it triggers later, will make kislev extra tough when it matters. Positively impressed on the kossovite dervishes, ca rarely gives low tier cav a solid charge bonus. This should really help them to make short work of most ranged units.
Yeah I think he underrated the Dervishes’ offensive power, with that solid charge bonus it ranks as pretty decent light cavalry damage wise compared to other races… however with no shield and a pathetic 15 armor they are weaker defensively than their counterparts, quite fragile indeed.
@@briancline7349 not to much more squishy then the elf ones. The elf light cav is probably a bit stronger, but it's really good compared to tomb kings/brettonia.

Well, I did champaign with him, and got to Belakor, but my army of armored kossars, strelsi and horse archers can't do much, and I can't auto-resolve, for some reason.
It's interesting on how almost all infantry units can deal some damage at range, and how almost all ranged units can handle themselves in melee. I like that. It's a "I'm not trapped here with you, you are trapped here with me" situation
Usually that's bad tho. Jack of all trades master of none, if you can keep your ranged units protected they'll be much better if they're ranged only compared to having some decent melee but never use it.
I think the gun sleights will be really strong. Im gonna make an early OP call. They're what war wagons should've been. Faster and with more damage/charge and more people shooting from them with tons of ammo.
Yeah, you could fit double the amount of people riding on those things and give them larger rifles (hence more damage per shot) because they can use the sides of the wagon as support for the weapons, and give halberds for the two frontal units to use when charging. But I think just the ranged buff could be enough since they could work as 360-degree firing arc version of the Outriders. Double the amount of horses too to make them faster to do that job better.
The LIGHT WAR SLED did recieve a nerf in patch 1.1. Their armor is now only 50. But, can be upgraded through lord buffs to around 60. Just thought i`d mention that.
A big lack of light/medium artillery for them. Would like to see some horse drawn guns (more mobile but smaller damage then the empires). They should have them since there are no flyers for them already (that is ok lorewise), but to also miss out on the arty?
Yeah, figure similar to how high elfs had no anti armor options at launch the artillery is lacking to push a lord pack that'll come rather early in the dlc lists. I guess on campaign you can hire empire arty with alliances but still, Kislev I thought used to have some arty options. The kislev reborn mod grand cannon feels great for example, massive thing by no means good to make up an artillery line to rival emp or dwf but amazing at reaching out and making itself felt.
I love your work. It is always very informative. If I may make a small suggestion. When showing mountable lords and heroes. It would be amazing to get a shot of said lords/heroes on said mounts. I know it is a bit more extra work and you do so much already. But just a suggestion.

Ngl Kostaltyn looks a lot like Rasputin. May just be me but he really does. I like how they’re sorta based off of the Russian empire, it’s cool how the names are sorta play ons to the real world counterparts (Kossars -> Cossacks).
I see one problem with the snow kitty. A fully juiced Skarbrand (in campaign) can one shot it with its 3-3.5k weapon strength. I know the ai will have a problem getting that high of a weapon strength, but that poor cat just has such little health...
I like this roster a lot, looks very flexible and every unit seems to have a pretty clear role. You can adjust in every direction by choosing the units carefully. I like it much more than Cathay, which I fear could be very one-dimensional
I don't like how Cathay has to stand still. That's like a bonus that isn't a bonus, it's more like a sacrifice. Yin Yang can actually boost performance, but standing still could lower performance. I think that's why they're so weak in MP so far.
@@will.roman-ros but since Cathay has superior ranged units to almost anyone, they can force the enemy to engage them on their terms. You just need a couple fire rain rockets, sky junks, or cannons.
@@lukeberghaus272 you may be right, but gameplay I've watched, I rarely see Cathay win or use those units to good effect. Bc if they field even half their army as missiles, the infantry are too squishy to defend. Less than half missiles and Cathay doesn't seem to have the killing power to win, unless they have 2 sentinels, which appears their best build. So the best builds utilize their single entities (LL, heroes, and sentinels) and flying cav, not their infantry, missiles, or sky junks. Against Nurgle, sure, missiles are prob best builds. I simply haven't seen Cathay missiles "melt" anything. I assume the lower reload - without harmony, means they get less volleys before the enemy gets tied in. And bc harmony means the infantry have to be close, a monster stopped 35 m away, is so close to just initiate a charge on those missiles, and Cath arty further back, needs like a cheap melee unit to get its harmony, where I assume the already longer reload for arty would suffer immensely without harmony. So in all this, my greater point is that harmony attracts one to pick a less effective army (eg: you didn't want a cheap melee unit, or didn't want a sky junk, but did so for the buffs), and after that suboptimal outcome, on the battlefield you now have to position the suboptimal army - sub optimally. Or, you sacrifice the buffs - meant to balance the faction, for your ideal army comp and positioning. So you pretty much never get an optimal outcome. Cathay appears to lose a lot for all these reasons.
@@will.roman-ros I’m actually surprised the sky junk isn’t meta vs Khorne or Slaanesh, and the cannon against Ogres and Nurgle. What I've noticed, little grim is great against nurgle and the enthusiasm sniping down lords. Combined with a storm mage makes it a icbm. Either that or the plaguebearers were heal tanking it.
Since imperial wagons similar to those sleds are considered a waste of gold I'm afraid it will be the same with these two, despite nice-sounding armor piercing.
You know after about a year with the game, I use the armoured kossars as a free company militia type of unit. The penalty for leadership being shot in the back with the ranged damage leadership penalty is quite good. Once they are out of ammo you charge them in for the decent melee damage. Edit: Also despite the ice bear being called crap by the comunity, they do make a good Distraction Carnifex.

I don't know why, but it is amusing to me that something that has to be pulled by two polar war-bears is described as "Little". Cant wait for a DLC that adds BIG Grom.
I hope there's one in the middle just called Grom.
I kinda wish Zerk would talk about health amounts a bit more. Two thousand health doesn't seem like a whole lot for a single entity war beast, especially with wounds.
Skarbrand riding a cultist. My man you just gave R34 artists something to do.
R34 and artists are barely interested in Warhammer anyway from the few amount of art there is out there, you can thank GW for that.
Could easily see Kislev being this wave after wave attack formations.
(Kinda like dwarf warrior spam)
Where every wave would have a ranged attack and simply kill the enemy with attrition with a new wave of cheep kossars just shooting everything before they reach melee.
Tzar Guard and Armored Kossars literally having the same model is... interesting.
I could have sworn that Tzar Guard were supposed to have full-sleeved, Druzhnik type armor, instead of the Kossar look
looking foward to part 2 whens it out?
You're a king thanks for this
King or Tsar?
Getting some serious "His Dark Materials" vibes from Kislev
so was there the part 2?
volkmar watches this video every day up until he makes his invasion into kislev
YES YES YES FINALLY
Will there be more who's the best videos soon for warhammer 3?
The one we've been waiting for 🐻❄️🥶😎
Now I want a Warhammer Fantasy 8th Edition army of Kislev. I want to build and paint bear cavalry!
