Beyond chops...He had a total grasp of "Music"...This, Dave, is a gift from GOD or what ever you believe in. I love you and believe in your soul...You're destiny was to play with the great Chick Corea, and during your tenure you killed it. NO ONE played better that you! You have created a legacy never to be forgotten. Thanks.
I love both Mike Pope and John Pattitucci. I don't understand why some feel the need to pit musicians against each other, instead of celebrating the talent of both as you have done. I try to stay in that moment and groove with what's available without beating others down. Thank you for doing that!

The best keyboard player and composer (together with M. Davis, G. Duke, H. Hancock and a few more) has gone - this was the soul of Jazz Fusion! RIP Chick....
Is it me , or is this the best video/audio mix ?.The mix is awesome you can hear every little sound DW's kit...really dig the Hi hat!!!..crispy like KFC!...

He's got himself "internally mixed," as he puts it; he self-mixes as he plays, adjusting his own volumes on parts of the drum set so it all balances out without the need for a front-of-house sound mixer to do much at all. He also uses an actual mixer at his side on stage, and sends that out to the front-of-house board. He likes to be in control of his sound at all times.

So many people are wasting their souls on empty pop and rap music when one of these songs will take you on an emotional ride that nothing else can compare to. I am completely blown away by it all!

Finally a high quality video where it's not focused on someone who's 'comping' while an inhuman solo is being played! They were hot here... Very hot. Like the music Chick makes. I listened to his soloalbums, his groups like Return to Forevers and the Elektric Band and all other recordings he made. He is one of the best.
@@dukegorsky818 There have been many drummers better than Buddy in different genres. Buddy just happen to be born at the right time. Bernard Purdie recorded the most but even he is not the best. Listen to some Heavy Metal drummers. Some of them are insane and I am not a Metal fan.

you should check out a drummer named Benny Greb. Like Dave , this guy is flawless
