Paul and HOMM series music was heavily inspired by Rachmaninov, if you didn't know. Paul confirmed that many times himself, Rachmaninov is his favourite composer.

@@RobertRedBard The roots are in classical music, not only Russian, but also Italian, German, Armenian, Mexican, Ukranian, American, etc.. You should check his channel, there are many video where he is explaining roots and influences. I myself started playing in 1997 with HOMM II. Brilliant opera. Not to mention revival of harpsichord. True musical genius. HOMM OSTs are definately some of the greatest in VGM history.

Do you have any explanation for the stronghold themes? They sound rattert unique to me. Especially in homm 3. Stronghold in homm I sounds a bit like scarlatti to me😊
@@RobertRedBard HOMM III Stronghold was inspired by a lot of different stuff, but in particular music from 1970s TV shows and Barbra Streisand warm up singing along with some other themes, like hollywood movie "Valley of the Dolls" from the 1960s. It's a lot going on there. Shostakovich Waltz (2) is the main inspiration behind Stronghold from HOMM IV. P.S. Sorry, Paul, that I answer these questions for you.
