A bombastic hit for the Detroit Spinners. I used the original backing track to show off the magnificence of the Funk Brothers and James Jamerson's amazing bass lineand extend the track.

And those horns, that bass and sitar. Incredible! Hard to believe this is 53 years old. Can’t see any of todays rubbishy efforts being played in 53 years time-can you?

Gold. Born in 1962, grateful for the music of our youth. The music doesn’t age (like we do!), and the memories flood back. Where U were, who U were with, the power of hope, of the future. Life does administer lessons, set backs, challenges to all of us. Hang in there.

Even though the Spinners had more success with Atlantic and Thom Bell, this has always been my fave. "Shame" rocks! Motown's guitarists never got the credit they should have for laying down such licks.
Also, some of the greatest long versions - monumental in a couple cases - came out of Motown. Particularly "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and the plaintively magnificent "Papa Was A Rolling Stone".
This version of "It's A Shame" goes right up there. Terrific work. Putting this in my file NOW.

I'm still pretty pissed The Mighty, Mighty Spinners are not in the R&R Hall of Fame yet. This stone-cold jam might become my new "Walk-In" music. I was literally stunned by the Jaw-Dropping bass playing by none other than the legend, the one and only Mr. James Jamerson. His bass playing just jumps off the record and is so funky, you need to open a window and let some fresh air in. His thick, fat bass tone and virtuoso playing simply dares you to not get up and move your hips. Hear him play one time and you will immediately recognize his sound on other great Motown hits. How he did all this with one finger continues to boggle my mind to this day. RIP James Jamerson. (The GOAT🐐)

The way you do the things you do, to music I loved then, and still. But to hear it remastered, reimagined, made fresh, new, often better, simply blows me away! (as in Laura Nyro's Blow... Blow.. Blowin"). And from me there is no greater praise. I worship Laura's music to this day. I can't stop playing your extended mixes.!! I can't thank you enough for there musical joy you have brought into my life. It would seem thousands of others agree! Keep em coming. Great music keeps people going. I'm one of them!

I had no idea that Thom Bell worked with them. Then he along with Linda Creed (RIP) Co Wrote The Stylistics Songs. They were such a major influence. "You Are Everything" was the Love Anthem For Kevin Arnold & Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years and in 2001 it was featured in The Finale of the very First Pop Idol Show in The UK that declared a Winner. Gareth Gates (The Runner Up) sang it with Rachel Stevens formerly of S Club 7. Russell Tompkins Falsetto was a major influence on Barry Gibb of The Bee Gees and Jordan Knight of New Kids On The Block.

Well, mosogotam you really outdone yourself. I'm addicted to old Motown from that era as I grew up listening to this awesome music as a teenager and we're very picky and can get right down nasty when someone fools around with the original. But damn, dude, this mix is outstanding, the Spinners and all their loyal following will be so proud of this version. For those who always wanted to hear longer versions from the original group, this is a must add to your google youtube library. I just cranked up the bass and played it a few times over and over. Great memories. Great job.
