Hanse has truly found his sound & style! It‘s so unapologetically flamboyant, androgynous and brilliant! He‘s an artist to watch in the upcoming years cause he never shied away from being himself!
The part that's not subbed, he's just saying "I'm on a mission, king of the new generation, let's hold a celebration" :) My favorite b sides were Chess and Unpredictable I was so stoked for this debut and also to see your reaction so thanks for this video PD!
I feel like Dawn and Hanse are kinda the succesors of G-Dragon style/vibes. The artistic vision in this mv is amazing and the song is a club banger, I expected something good from Hanse but he really knocked it out of the park.
This Release kicked me... In the face. With spikes. It was soooooo good!! The MV is kinda on the trippy side and it really shows Hanses creativity in this industry!! Definitely one of my favorite releases this year so far! ❤️😍
The queens are from the RUclips channel Neon Milk, and Queen Nana appeared in Vanner’s Form video. I love his androgynous prince persona in this video. I think we’re going to talk about this debut for a long time.
I’m so glad a big name reactor not only reacted to Hanse but was so positive and supportive of him and the work he’s done. Thank you so much PD for being so awesome and always looking at the deeper level of things. ❤️
its a song that sounds weird the first time you listen to it but at the same time you cant help but replay it and then... its a rabbit hole and youre never coming out of it lmao
he is really into the sound pateko is producing lately, and big into an idea of bringing pop punk back to korea. so originally, his album had that direction, and for a title track he sang. playm wanted him to present himself as rapper, to showcase his skill, so they asked him to write another title track. he made this in two hours, did whatever tf came to his mind, and his mind was working hot and birthed something great. the same was with into the mirror and flip a coin. this song is very him, but it's more of his snark and attitude, scent and public enemy are the style he wants to work with in general for now, and more of his inside. at least this is how I interpret what he said during all the months of preparations.
true, this is important to understand, that take over is a showcase but it's not what he going to continue doing. Hell, it's not even certain he will stick with wanting pop punk. He moves. He is not gonna be labeled and put into a box. Dont expect the same from him ever because he is not repeating what hes done. He is a very chill and kind person so that's the only direction to expect, that his next works will be somehow reflective of that
I'm so proud of Hanse, this debut is amazing, he waited so long for this moment (he had already a title track but the company didn't like it so he wrote a new one (take over) ) aaah this was so heartwhelming
when he dropped that line "When I spit I do it right" I SCREAMED, because he's right!! this song and MV just felt SO *HANSE* and I'm so happy he had his moment to shine how he wanted
I complete agree with your review, especially the comparison with GD. My first thoughts were similar. It's just so mesmerizing and different from anything that's popular right now. The flamboyant fashion, the unapologetic attitude and the crazy rap skills. He just slayed it and the fact that you can see his influence in everything just gives it that little extra. As for the song after the first listen i had mixed feelings but then my mind just went "take, take, take over"...
Am I the only one who was reminded of T.O.P? I felt like Hanse’s psychedelic, trippy vibe was very reminiscent of T.O.P‘s “I don’t give a d*mn what others think” attitude, that it’s just a pure expression of self. It’s not personally what I enjoy listening to, but I have mad respect for artists that have the courage to put it all out there.
I watched the making of for this video and he said that this song was not originally on the album it was all slower songs and the higher ups told him “you are a rapper and you have no rap songs on this album and that won’t do”, so he made this
this is honestly one of the strongest solo releases i've come across... i'm well aware that hanse makes really good music but i wasn't expecting this at all. well done, hanse!
00:35 my favorite The future is now b-side is definitely Carry on (Seungsik's solo) cause it's about him becoming the leader after Seungwoo and it's written by all the members. Seungsik said he almost cried when he read the lyrics
I'm absolutely in love with this because it is just Hanse and what he wants to express to the world. I'm so proud of him for this song and the whole album.
I'm just so proud of Hanse! You can tell he worked really hard on his solo debut. As for the video, my first thought was: someone watched too many episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race :,D and he even included the Queens! Brilliant! On my second watch I concluded that this must be what it feels like to watch a high-fashion show on like all the drugs. Everything from the music, to his rap to the video is just sooo trippy. And I kinda dig it? It's just so different from everything else I've heard in kpop. The rest of the album is also amazing. I love how many genres he put in there. And of course our little emo boy put in a pop punk-ish song. Thanks for never letting me get out of my own emo phase... As for Voice: The Future is now. Holy moly. Favourite album. Period. My favourite b-sides are Carry On and Unpredictable. Carry On is just so sweet, how the members wrote the lyrics for Seungsik. And Unpredictable...well it's sexy what more do I have to say?
Voice: The Future is now is my AOTY and I loved every single track on the album which is a first for me since I became a kpop stan in 2015 but my favorite bsides were Flip a coin, Into the mirror, Circle, Chess and Up to you but I listen to Unpredictable on a daily basis it’s not even okay
Voice: the future is now became my favorite album from VICTON. My favorite songs are Into the mirror, All day, We stay and the solos. Overall I love the album. Regarding Hanse’s TAKE OVER, I agree that it is weird in a Hanse kind of way. It did threw me off on the first watch, but I really vibe to the song, and even more when I saw the dance. And the visuals are simply AMAZING I really like Hanse’s style.
14:33 Hi PD, you’re right! Hanse mentioned that the mv director suggested including drag artists because they would be a good fit for the song. And he agreed so there we have a legendary collab haha
I generally don't like rap on it's own. And it have taken me a long time to truly appreciate rap parts in kpop songs 😅 But I LOVE this! 😍 Have been replaying it so much! 💖👌
The upside to this song feeling abnormally short is that I have an excuse to replay it multiple times whenever it pops up on my playlist. The downside is that I can't STOP replaying it.
It’s bold. It’s unapologetic. It’s loud. It’s intricate. It’s Hanse. I really feel like this is him. Like, he has found himself, his style, his passion, his innermost core. I could watch it all day, it’s an absolute masterpiece because it’s just so strong and unique and creative and, just like he said, a truly fresh taste in Kpop. ❤️
Hanse's debut took me by surprise. For me, as a queer kid, seeing queer people in his MV made me love him even more. The way that he's unapologetically himself gives me inspiration yk I love him so much 😭😭
Been listening to it all day and i keep bopping my head like the cat jamming every single time. All of the songs in the album are great so they're permanently on repeat
18:38 Also right again PD! In his lives he said he really liked working a lot with the mv team but also that he had a lot of say/impact on the whole process from styling to the actual video itself 😁
Hanse is so talented and unique! And yes I’m obsessed with the song and the video is hypnotizing! And the addition of the Queens had me on the floor! Also, yes Victon’s album is perfection! My faves are Flip a Coin, Unpredictable and the queen Circle as well as Seungsik’s solo carry on! It’s so true that you can feel when an artist is genuine and involved in their art!
He did it, I mean he found the perfect way to express himself and his view of life. I'm so glad because throughout his music you can feel his desire to tell the world what's on his mind. And I agree, the song is stuck in head since the release. It's diffrent and I'm here for it!
I totally feel it. It’s not a song I would listen to in terms of the music I like, but him rapping and his attitude made me want to listen to him ALL DAY. He is so talented and I can’t wait for more from him already
He is an ARTIST. I absolutely got snatched by him the first time I heard Victon. Hella skilled, unique, unapologetic, and hands down one of my favorite rappers, PERIOD in any market. He deserves worldwide acknowledgment.
The whole album is Amazing He did so many different things with each song and you can just feel all the energy and love he put into each one~ I listen dayly to the whole thing or a song from it~
My first listen was: OK, good song but not really my style? But now I'm actually obsessed, I just vogue all around my room when I listen to it. The whole EP is really good, and Public Enemy is my favorite, if only because it takes me back to my teenage years, since it was the kind of music I listened to!
I've been waiting for your reaction to Hanse's Take Over. Yaaaay :) I hope you could react to his another title track "Public Enemy". Hanse worked sooooo hard for this album and his personality and color showed in this album. I'm so proud of him. PS: A little trivia from this mv. That horse is real and his name is Benjamin.
The replay-value is so true. I was so shocked the first time seeing/listening. I had to watch it 5times to get re-hooked sort of XD and I'm still coming back again and again. such a cool song
a side of me wants to laugh at the end scene with the horse and roll my eyes at the drop but artistically I'm so pleased with the visuals and it fits the sound too 😭 i never expected to be this into it even years later
this is such a good song i keep replaying it and watching the mv cause it's just soo amazing💛 also,, pd i love the new setup!!! the green from the plants really makes it perfect
Love the video, but I didn’t love the song at first! The chorus in particular felt a bit hollow to me. But now I’m into it, it really sets the mood! My favorite track on the album is “Scent” though, the features killed it (the good way) and Hanse was great as usual I’m excited for what more he wants to show, considering he said this song wasn’t even on the album before lol And for my favorite Victon album bsides, it’s definitely Circle, Up To You, Carry On, and Flip A Coin. Fantastic album!
This solo debut took me by surprise!! I loved it way more than I anticipated. My fave b-side from Victon's album is probs "Chess." When I heard those smooth vocals in the chorus, I knew I had to buy the album on the spot.
i was thinking the same exact thing about voguing!! this song would really fit into the scene, and i’m curious to see where he’s going to take it from here 😭
Really loved watching this reaction, it was so cute to see PD so happy about the video hehe :D will check out your Patreon for the VTFIN listening party!!! And BLAZE as well (soon) 🤩
I love this song (and video) so much that I had a hard time with the rest of the EP - he experiments with a lot of different styles, which is great, but I just wanted another 20 minutes of “Take Over” - it goes by so fast! Voice is definitely one of my favorite albums of the year - I think my favorite b-sides are “Into the Mirror”, Carry On”, “Unpredictable” and “Flip a Coin.” Just a few weeks ago I remember thinking how long it had been since a VICTON comeback and wondering what Hanse was up to in particular - the other five are all acting, I think? I’m not sure about Chan and Subin. In any case, I was very happy when I saw the announcement of his solo debut and I think he absolutely killed it.
@@sixblaze2031 Oh cool! Do you know the name of Subin’s drama? I hadn’t heard about him doing anything since Convenience Store Fling back at the beginning of the year.
I’m glad you get what’s so unique about Hanse and why he really deserved this solo debut, the world needs to know about his talent. When I checked out Victon because of Seungwoo and Byungchan, he was one of the first to grab my attention and make me go, “Damn, he’s talented”. My standards were set by the BTS rapline so I’m not easily impressed. I’m sure everyone has already told you that Hanse envisioned Take Over for a fashion show and Neon Milk’s presence also conjured up RuPaul’s Drag Race for me. I really like that it was an unexpected direction for rap and for that, it feels fresh. Also for VOICE B-Sides, I love all of them but my favourite three are Unbelievable (it is a crime that song was not released, it is so viral in quality), We Stay and Carry On. The members bring such unique colours to the group. It’s almost hard to imagine Seungsik’s balladeer vocals together with Hanse’s staccato rap but how can it work so wonderfully?
Hanse has truly found his sound & style! It‘s so unapologetically flamboyant, androgynous and brilliant! He‘s an artist to watch in the upcoming years cause he never shied away from being himself!
Absolutely! It's really exciting to see how he communicates his artistry, visually and musically ^_^
hanse’s talent and androgyny makes me so angry he’s so insane /pos
Yes to every single part of this
He looks so ethereal with the long blonde hair 😭
The part that's not subbed, he's just saying "I'm on a mission, king of the new generation, let's hold a celebration" :)
My favorite b sides were Chess and Unpredictable
I was so stoked for this debut and also to see your reaction so thanks for this video PD!
instead of im on a mission, he actually said im on an issue
Yep, I like Unpredictable the most too.
I feel like Dawn and Hanse are kinda the succesors of G-Dragon style/vibes. The artistic vision in this mv is amazing and the song is a club banger, I expected something good from Hanse but he really knocked it out of the park.
I was gonna say how han se kinda reminds me of dawn!!
Oh, yeah, definitely. Hongjoong, too.
This Release kicked me... In the face. With spikes.

the album flows so well too. He put a lot of thought in it
