They were part of a bloodline known as The Order, who made a wish to Clavicus to let them walk in the daylight. He granted them this wish, but at the cost of diminishing their powers. Corrupting wishes is kind of his thing. The people who made Skyrim, however, decided to break the lore and apply the same weakness to the Volkihar bloodline!
I wish it would increase your characters physical strength. Like the higher rank you get the higher you can jump and you run faster and your attacks hit harder. and reduced fall damage etc. It would really add to the immersion.
Version 8.0, and the vampire spells still aren't affected by cost reduction perks. "Oh, you want to cut the cost in half for Vampiric Drain with the Novice Destruction perk? Yeah, not gonna happen" This is the best thing sacrosanct has over other vampire overhauls, the perk compatability.
The Better Vampires mod is NOT compatible with Sacrosanct. I found that out while researching the former, so to those people looking to improve vampirism, you have to choose one mod or the other.
In my opinion in the vanilla sky rim being a base level vampire frankly was never worth it I think the vampire lord form was very powerful however didn’t scale well to the much later game but with this mod that I have currently been playing with it seems like those two problems have been completely solved and I’m very impressed with how they implemented some features.
I use to go to a location where I could get infected by the vampire virus, she casts vampire drain but not any more, cos of this better vampires npcs, she now shoot frostbite spell.

It is normal if you have Better Vampires installed, the reason behind that is that to avoid cheating and make the mod more immersive and realistic the author included a feature that after 2 feeding kills a normal npc and makes you unable to feed again on a essential one. If you let pass 24 game hours after one feeding the victims will regain their blood making you able to feed on them again.
A cool mod for vampires it's even for ps4 is the Castle Volkihar Redux it rebuild Castle Volkihar with alot of new quest and npc's, but if you nab ps4 you don't get new npc's and quest and some of the activitys you can do in the Castle such as a blood bath...
I have the better vampires mod but I can't figure out how to feed. Sneaking doesn't give me the option of feeding nor does the vampiric seduction power allows me to feed. What am I doing wrong?
have you tried both together? if that does not work try feeding on a sleeping target. if that wont work either try reseting better vampires by getting cured and getting vampirism again. hope that helps ya
Wish they would've gone the 'moonlight tales' way about this, and given you the option to customise your vampire lord. The lord itself look great, but their outfits don't and I'd personally love it if they were much more feral looking and less decadent. And the xbox mods are light on retextures.
Hunger. The more full you are, the weaker you are, but in the day your motorskills(health, stamina) work. The more hungry you are, the more special abilities you have access to. I think this is a pretty great idea... The problem is feeding. You see despite the fact that you're not only the dragonborn, but also a heavily armed vampire, you can't just walk up to someone and bite their neck, you have to seduce them, which you can't do unless you're starving, which is when your stamina and health is shit, and a state you don't want to be in, unless you're in dungeon. Oh and if your seduction misses the target, or the victim is impervious to your chams, you have to wait a day. You can also feed on sleeping victims. Problem is people sleep at night, which is when your motor skills work fine, so there's no need. You also can't feed on someone you've just killed. There are also aesthetic issues, mainly with the vampire lord. You see bats are mammals. The Argonians are reptiles. Surely they should have a unique skin. Same problem with the werewolf, it's a mammal and I do think the Khajit should turn into lions instead.
I think they removed the option to feed on animals to distance themselves from Twilight. As for growing stronger with hunger, well looking at actual animals, I know for a fact that in summer polar bears have difficulty locating food and starve. During this period they're much more active and extremely aggressive and will attack anything they can find, including bear cubs. I think it'd be cool if the took this stronger with hunger aspect even further(the vampires not the bears) and forced you into the vampire lord transformation upon complete starvation. Like a sort of instinctual response to dying. I would also like to see some aesthetic changes to the vampire lord. In pop culture vampires are always presented as rich, decadent and powerful, and the vampire lord reflects that with jewelery and fine robes(which just spawn out of thin air btw). I would love to see a much more feral vampire lord, something born not out of the will to fight, but to hunt. Like the vampires in Priest which are a brilliant take on the vampire.

That's why I want to see lords which are more animalistic than the fancy Volkihar lords, because in Elder Scrolls vampirism isn't brought on by magic, but rather disease. A disease doesn't differentiate between social status. A disease also can't spawn clothing and jewelery, therefore I think the vampire lord should be naked, like the werewolf. The transformation of the two is exactly the same, they don't turn into monsters, the monster literally bursts out of their bodies.

For some reason every enemy has incredibly overpowered weapons including the guards. I'm not sure if it's the scaling of the weapons but that's only with vampires so I don't know why it's all NPC's. I have pretty overpowered gear and abilities yet the guard bows have an insane enchantment that just one shot me. Any ideas what it could be? I don't have any weapon mods either. Just better vampires and NPC'S.
7 months late her but may be able to help someone: a potential cause for this is the day/night buff and debuff system added with Better Vampires. Without it being nighttime, you’ll find a vampiric character feeling MUCH squishier and less potent without you tweaking the MCM or mod settings.

I take damage when trying to heal myself up to max, cannot max heal through restoration. Any hit-attack on an npc, causes me to also take damage per attack. I do not know if it is this mod that does it, but i am very tired and annoyed over having to overheal by potions for just delivering a couple hits X_X Does anyone know? Get both consoles that's what I did I got the ps4 pro and xbox one x both are great I prefer xbox because my ps4 is glitched and can't stay connected to internet for longer than a half hour.
I like some of the ideas of this mod but not all. Especially as it messes with the animated dragon wings mod I use, killing part of my immersion with the character Im currently rolling with. Shame really as its a really good mod.
have you got the option turned on for better vampires? if you dont know how to turn it on there is a special spell under powers that lets you customize the options for the mod. turning people into thralls is turned off from the start you have to turn it on

@Jacob Moya No, unfortunately, because of Sony's screwy policies concerning external assets. They're terrified of having their servers infiltrated, I imagine, so it's unlikely that a port will be coming any time soon. Your best bet is to get either a PC or an Xbox.
Better Vampire NPCs seems like a cool enough mod but any mod that means we'll see random mobs running around in armor that's supposed to be extremely rare (ie. Daedric) is silly in my opinion. You only have your set (if you have one at all) because you're like the hero of the entire damn world. lol Random bandits, random vampires etc. should not have that kind of stuff. :D
Gnawer Shreth True for the bandits, but I must disagree for the vampires. Vampire lords (as Harkon) are VERY old (maybe several hundreds years), so it's kinda logical that they have access to rare armors like draconic or daedric ones.
Like none of the vampires im killing are dropping blood gems. I killed so many and I have not seen a single gem. I heard you can create them but I don’t know where to do that at?
I wish it allowed me to also be a vampire and look my true beautiful self because truly my character is beautiful and yet still beautiful as a vampire but if i could choose she would be her human beauty+🧛🏽♀️

Yes, but that will only be 'normal' vampirism, not Vampire Lord. :)

Hmm guess I have to make a second vampire character to try out this mod. Dont want to get rid of Sacrosanct since my khajiit is using it.

What I like to do is rank up my vampire to Mistwalker along with Sacrosanct Spells, then reorder Sacrosanct to load after Better Vampires. Try it out.

have you got the option turned on for better vampires? if you dont know how to turn it on there is a special spell under powers that lets you customize the options for the mod. turning people into thralls is turned off from the start you have to turn it on

@Jacob Moya No, unfortunately, because of Sony's screwy policies concerning external assets. They're terrified of having their servers infiltrated, I imagine, so it's unlikely that a port will be coming any time soon. Your best bet is to get either a PC or an Xbox.

Better Vampire NPCs seems like a cool enough mod but any mod that means we'll see random mobs running around in armor that's supposed to be extremely rare (ie. Daedric) is silly in my opinion. You only have your set (if you have one at all) because you're like the hero of the entire damn world. lol Random bandits, random vampires etc. should not have that kind of stuff. :D
Gnawer Shreth True for the bandits, but I must disagree for the vampires. Vampire lords (as Harkon) are VERY old (maybe several hundreds years), so it's kinda logical that they have access to rare armors like draconic or daedric ones.
That’s what happened in Oblivion. Were you level 20? Looks like a mere marauder will have daedric armor.
there's a mod thats makes dedric more rare and more stronger so bandits can use dedric wapons.

You can create at forge , u need common soul gem and Potion of Blood

There's many mods that revert the vampire appearance to your regular appearance while still keeping the vampire eyes.
