This is by far the most intelligently explained and most easily understandable way of tying Munter. It obviously comes from a person who understands the subject. How refreshing!
That is easily the best description of how to tie that knot, period. I really appreciate you taking the time to put that out there for the knot challenged like myself. Thanks!
Thank you, my tree climbing mentor taught me the "taunt line hitch/or Blake's hitch" method. Your video is a supurb way to repel down the tree when you only have a trunk left to lay over and do not have the luxury of a taunt line hitch.
I always thought I was pretty good at making knots. The munter hitch pretty tricky for some reason. It definitely needs to be done correctly so thank you for making it easier to understand 💡
Knowing how to easily tie the hitch is great BUT it would be even better to have more info in the description about its use, its pluses and its minuses. For example: ROCK-CLIMBING: - Essential hitch for every multi-pitch climber, in case the primary belay or rappel device is lost - Do NOT use as a replacement for an ATC or other device because it severely twists and very slightly weakens the rope every time it's used.

Kind of weird having the brake and load strands heading in opposite directions. I think you typically pull the brake strand in the same direction as load to control the hitch.
Six years later, I’d like to extend thanks for this ultimate munter hitch tour. That’s fantastic.
It's a great video
by far the most intuitive method and ready for belaying instead of fumbling. 10/10
You just "un-confused" a simple knot for me. Thanks!

OMG, never able to remember munter. This video is gold, great explanation! Thank you.
How brilliantly simply explained. The analogy to the car ignition key was ingenious.
What a great teacher. Many, many thanks.
the single best technique i still use years later, thanks
By far the easiest way to remember how to do a Munter that I've seen! Thank you!!
Gracias!!! Worked perfectly.

thanks!
is it possible to soft-lock the munter hitch?
Handy!
Nice
i thought you were supposed to pull the break in the same direction of the load strain (up) instead of down with the munter.
Turn your car on twice! awesome!

Not when rappelling
Agree.
Please show the monster munter

Aka, he's got sweet breakdancing moves. Hope you never run into him at da club otherwise he'll steal your wife
Admittedly, my knot IQ is in the spectrum of idiot-moron-imbecile, but I can understand and, hopefully, remember this. Subscribed.
I married a munter and wanted a divorce, this knot DID NOT help me get rid of her - extreme dislike
