i am so glad there’s still sims 2 youtubers. i started playing again because of having to stay inside (i live right near seattle, washington where the virus is very much popping), and also because i’m bored of the sims 4, and basically this whole channel has made me happier since i’ve been in self quarantine lol

For realism, very often I put coat racks and shoe racks at the entrance to the house, with an addition of bags and a small table on which I put keys and letters :)
Those are both great ideas! I like putting coat racks near the doors, too!

Oh, and I also recommend putting the light switches with two switches in bathrooms and laundry rooms - often, these rooms have some sort of ventilation, so a double switch would be realistic. One switch to turn on the light, and one to turn on the vent. I get too realistic when it comes to these things, don't mind me! LOL
That's a very good point!
This is also very interesting from the perspective of someone who doesn't live in the USA. Homes in New Zealand that have aircon, have white outdoors boxes with the fan bit and the fan faces forwards, not up. Then that links to the an indoor unit (normally white as well) that can either be small and high up on a wall, or large and close to the floor. Then you have a remote you use to turn it on or off with lots of setting etc. I've never seen floor vents or anything like that.
We also call the hot water heater, a hot water cylinder, and it's always in a large cupboard (closet?) thing, often with shelves above to store linen etc.

Yay, new video! How neat. It'd be so cool if there would be a mod, so Sims would get cold indoors if there is no heating system. I actually have this in my game ever since Edgewood was shown, but I never remember to put it in my Sims houses. 😁

@@Mina-ld4dx The radiators in this video are functional - but your Sim has to get cold outside before they can "warm up." It would be great if they could get cold indoors without a heater too!
If you really want to, you could give them roofs that aren't "weather-proof" to do it, but I'm not certain if there's a method that also blocks snow and rain. Hmm...
Kind of a late responde, but there are so called "temperature mods" for the issue of sims not cooling down outside or whatever.
ModTheSims has them in the "fixes" section😊

Ooo I'd love to see the progress on your custom neighbourhood! I have one too called Braemar which is set in the Scottish Highlands. I've just started generation 6 and it's not corrupted yet! I'm trying to get to generation 10, we'll see how that goes lol.

Although the cable TV plugs and the phone outlets are a little 1990s. And people are kind of switching over to LED apps on their phones, so I don't know how many people still use dimmers. But I kept yelling COOL while I was watching this like a nut. I don't think people know what I am watching. Thank you for your content.
Well, the sims 2 was always very 2000's with some 90's vibes(bc it was developed during the years the milennium ended), so it makes more sense in their context and time-setting for them to not have LED things or more modern stuff
it would simply feel out of place, when they barely have MP3 players and cluncky mini cellphones on the base game.
(Seeing a sims 2 Angela or Lilith using a smartphone would freak me the eff out, not gonna lie😂)

i mean, unless you don't have a pc/laptop it's pretty easy to play the sims 2. it's abandonware at this point, no one cares if you go download it.

I wonder if there are any versions out there with somewhat older-looking pieces? My apartment building was built in the 70s and my unit was seemingly never remodeled, so it has Ye Olde analog AC, stove, etc. units. It'd be nice to put something like that in some older-looking or more run-down lots. Either way, these are definitely going into my downloads folder!

Hi, do you know why my Sims 2 cc always become Sims 3 package file?
Hi Lintang! I think it's because you've set package files to always open with The Sims 3 launcher, and your sims 2 package files are doing the same - because your computer doesn't know the difference between a sims 2 package file to a sims 3 package file. While I'm not sure how to fix it, I hope this helps!

I once tried to make my parent's house but one thing proved difficult. They have a hallway with 2 rooms on the sides of a corner but the doors are angled right towards each other. There is almost no space and if one door is open the other can't be opened. I just couldn't recreate that.
I wish i could just hand you my computer and you can set all this up for me😂 I’m good with downloading custom content and basic mods but when it comes to files and more advanced mods im super lost

Interesting you not using criquette default hood trees...I really recommended that you start to using it..its much better then sims 2 version.

Some houses have air conditioner but i have never seen this stuff you put on the floor. Those things to heat water we also have ofc. but most of the things seem strange for me. something we just live without. not really needed, for me at least
@@livfaferek6231 That's so fascinating. I've never lived in a house without the floor vents. It is very common here. What kind of heaters do you have there? I have lived in a house with a gas heater before, but we still had the vents for air conditioning.

II'm in the US and 've always lived in houses with large wall vents, mostly up high but low in second floor rooms. They're much bigger than the ones you showed and need to have the filters changed every few months. I've seen houses with floor vents though! I wonder if it's regional or according to what type of HVAC is installed. But yeah in some countries, central air systems aren't much of a thing. It's why the UK has such difficulty in heat waves, for example.
So glad there's new sims 2 content coming out. It really was the superior game. Check my channel, I used to build houses in sims 2 and 3 :)
