Yes. Without taking sides on that particular issue, it is about not bringing your politics to work if the company disagrees with them. It's not about having politics. It is about having the "correct", acceptable politics.
They will still apply their own standards and terms of service unevenly, tolerating those who express the correct politics. People with the incorrect politics mostly just don't get employed at the company in the first place unless they disguise what they really think. Hollywood is probably the best example. They often speak good words but don't actually believe them or act as if they believe them.

I work at another large tech company. I've never understood how clubs about sexuality had a place in the work environment, e.g. rainbow posters on the walls, emails and meetings about Pride, etc.
I fully support personal freedoms, but having other people's orientations constantly wafted in my face at work is hypocritical, when there are zero tolerance policies for talking about sex in other contexts.
If an employee says "all this talk about sexuality" they're labeled a bigot. If an employee complements a women on her hair, and the complement is unwelcome, that person can get fired.

I hate Google. Years ago I owned a 3rd party tech support business and did all my advertising on Google's search engine until the company banned all ads for 3rd party tech support companies. I was doing a lot of business thanks to the ads. Now that companies like mine have been banned I had to shut down my business. And to this day Google will not allow me run ads.

If I had to give method to their madness here, I would say that Google does business with at least a few wealthy people of the Jewish persuasion and those particular business partners aren't keen on seeing activist employees trying to pull Google in a different direction. If I had a choice between million dollar deals or putting up with whiny activists rooting for terrorists, I think the choice is clear.
