OMG!!! This voice or should I say VOICE is AMAZING!!!!! The thing I love and mean LOVE about his voice is that it's so clear and clean no put on, just natural. The musicianship is SPECTACULAR!!!! I look forward to more of his amazing singing!!
ok, lets see: Philipp Jaroussky - same place, similar program. But also: Glass, Einstein on the beach - Amsterdam (original version) Bruckner 9, Symphony Orchestra SWR - Michael Gielen F. Schmidt Das Buch mit Sieben Siegeln, Vienna Symphony Orchestra Prokofjew - Romeo & Juliet Suite Dortmund Philharmonic Mahler 3rd Symphony Cologne SO, Wand
That was so splendid! I loved how he moved and expressed himself physically while singing. That is one of the reasons why I love Simone Kermes. It is so cool to see one get into the singing and living it! He is marvelous. they all were! Listen to that applause!!! :-) I applause you too for posting little gems like this! C.
When one hears Bejun, you know it is him. And that's what is important! His characteristic voice and timbre, and amazing technique. He does Händel well. Great artist!!!!
BRAVO!!!! Amazing voice, effortless fioratura, lovely sound. Love the high notes and the smooth and even transition to the lower register. This gentleman is a musical treasure!!!!!!!
I was there! Can you imagine a whole evening of Handel counter-tenor arias? I was totally blown away by this concert - all of it. The orchestra were equally the stars, with huge rhythmic precision. It was an special benefit concert for a rehearsal hall, which they don't have. With playing like this it is no wonder that the regular season is completely booked months in advance. Do you have any more of the concert you can post?
I tried to listen to other countertenors but after hearing him, I couldn't bear the other ones. His voice is so clear, powerful, and defined. He's under perfect control and expresses with such ease. Man, those runs! I never get tired of his singing!
Thanks, this is amazing, I'm not Mehta's fan, but this is really incredible, marvellous voice, and of course a great conductor. Thanks for sending me this
I prefer counter tenor voices like his- without erotic touch- it's more angelic. I heard him in the Messiah- oratory and serched for him. Thank you for posting.
THE COMMENT BELOW MINE CALLS MR. NEW THERE IS NOTHING NEW ABOUT HIM HES BEEN GREAT SINCE HE WAS A BOY CHECK ITS ON RUclips THANK YOU RUclips THE NEW GREAT LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA
Indeed there are similarities(I haven't the scores here to check exactly). Handel was very prolific and recycled his best ideas a lot. But each aria is absolutely perfect in its own context; there is no thought of it being imported from somewhere else.
Lovely voice (best Tolomeo in Giulio Cesare) but Heavens above! Too fast -- sounds like running for the 27 Bus. Not great for the characterization of Orlando either--makes him sound overly confident.

Absolutely, ridiculously good. You can just tell by his face that he's loving every minute of it.
Great voice and great diction. Bravo! The new generation of counter tenors like Bejun Mehta and Franco Fagioli set ever higher standards!

I'd say he's beautiful all the time. It's a joy to watch him sing. A dynamic, expressive performance by players and singer. Lovely!

That was amazing and I have never seen an audience anywhere that claps for three minutes straight.

Handel vive en tu garganta...
Another wonderful singer on the rise is Keymon Murrah. I love Bejun and Franco.
kissable!
Belo CONTRATENOR !!!
He has nice clear voice, and diction much better than certain countertenors
Sadly, most countertenors today sre doing bad Bsrtoli impersonations.

Great voice and what could better for countertenor But HANDEL!
MR. METHA sorry
Three minutes of applause...
I DONT KNOW I SPEAK SPANISH
N. Stutzmann is much better in this Aria, in B. Methas Performance i miss the erotic touch and power…...
too much vibrato
+Christopher Birch Je ne suis pas d'accord avec vous, mais son vibrato est très bien!
Christopher Birch nope...there is simply no other countertenor in the world with this kind of sound. Rich, vibrant, connected.
@Daniel Swick: Christophe Dumaux e.g.
