This is just so true. all of it. I get hyper focused on something and then within weeks my brain has overloaded and I begin to shut down. I have all of these fantastic ideas in my head but executing those ideas is proving to be overwhelming. Decisions fatigue is horrible
Great video! I like cleaning routines, but I always get off track, get frustrated, & give up. I have a list of a few things I like to do daily and a particular task for each day (Monday - Friday) that is the same every week. Deeper cleaning tasks I do whenever I notice them and have the time & energy. The great thing about not having so much stuff is that I notice things that need done. Before I couldn't see these because of all the stuff distracting me.
♥ This is so relatable! Cleaning schedules must be for people with neurotypical brains. Diane in Denmark also discusses a FlyLady idea, the top of the hour method, to get tasks done. You do a task starting at the top of the hour and then rest for the remainder of the hour before moving on to the next thing on your to-do list. If it's a big job, you can set a timer for 10 minutes or whatever is comfortable for you and then resume the task at the top of the next hour. Task Initiation and Time Management are the Executive Functioning skills that I struggle with so this technique works very well for both.
❤ Great timing. I just finished washing bed sheets and another load. Relaxing in my porch now. Maybe, more cleaning later. I’ll try for five minutes or more during evening movie time.
Very nice video. I do not have ADHD and I am neurotypical but I think your advice are more practical ans more natural then those idealistic cleaning plans and routins you mentioned. I sort of do what you described and works for me perfectly. Best wishes fro UK
I'm glad I found your channel i am overwhelmed with stuff that stresses me out. I'm going to start a maybe box. Pluss labeling to make finding things easier. I am always misplacing things and never finding them sometimes lol
neurodivergent parent here! i had to get a clothing rack with 6 t shirts, 6 pair shorts, 1 work pair work gymshoes, 3 long sleeve t shirts, 2 hoodies, 6 underwear, 6 socks, 6 a line undershirts for my oldest son for his work clothes in a warehouse. 4 day work week. no longer rushing in the morning
I don’t like cleaning schedules because you end up cleaning things that aren’t dirty! I just go day by day and if I notice something looks dirty, I clean it. I clean a lot less that way and save myself so much exhaustion.
Life is too short for cleaning routines. I do 5 minutes here or there which works around me and what I want to do that particular day. It makes life so much more peaceful and less regimented.
Haha I get that! 💕 even with my daughter being 7 it can be difficult I think that’s why decluttering helped me so much especially at first! I had to get down to my threshold before I could even begin to think about cleaning. I wish u the best of luck! It is no easy task 💕💕
I love Diane from Denmark too
She’s so knowledgeable and I love her outlook on life 💕😍

Love this video! I’m also neurodivergent and can never stick to a cleaning routine! I’m slowly getting into my own routine too
Love it 💕💕 thank you so much for sharing!!
