Astonishing! The hard driving left hand in the first minute... Striking the piano with your fist!!!! Thought I knew this piece...but you found stuff inside it!!! Bravo bravo bravo bravo, Ms. Kim!!!!!!
WOW! I mean it's in the sheet music... but no indication is given as to how to perform it, but whenever I've heard this live on piano, that part has always been omitted. She actually plays quite a bit that is usually omitted, including some ossia notes and parenthetical notes, indicating orchestral cues. Impressive.
I enjoyed your performance very much. It was helpful to see how you play the piece since there are so many cues and extra unreachable notes in the score. Great job!
So amazing, so beautiful. Loved the way u played it. This is the first time I heard just the piano version & u simply did an awesome work (without any music sheet!) Bravo!
I play several instruments, the piano among them. After seeing this video, I've tried this piece of my piano. I looked up to see my children dancing to it. Your version is the best I've heard and seen so far.
Considering he was only a generation away from being European(a Russian Jew) it is very "European" if you consider Russian Jews European, but let's not open that can of worms.
It's called plagiarism and cultural appropriation, dear children! Kidding aside, many of the tunes from the ballet were ripped right out of Wild West Pop Culture. Hoedown it self is the tune Bonaparte's Retreat. ruclips.net/video/1yeQucos9-M/видео.html
I turned around almost immediately in my bedroom/office swivel chair and hit the like button.
Total perfection
My great respect for this amazing performance
Bravo
Jaw-dropping. Unbelievably good performance.
I have never heard this on just the piano. Too cool. Great job.
This is the most amazing thing I have ever heard in my life. Absolutely brilliant.

WOW! 4 minutes of one of Copland's most famous works without sheet music! Well done!!

Fantastic performance! Perfect emotion throughout the piece. This looks like such an enjoyable piece to play.
Great performance.
Copeland was a genius. It just doesn’t get more “American” than this. No European composer could possibly have written this.
Considering he was only a generation away from being European(a Russian Jew) it is very "European" if you consider Russian Jews European, but let's not open that can of worms.

Where can I find the sheet music?
@Charles Wang THANKS!
Brava!
Is there sheet music available for this? I LOVE it!!! Good job!! :)
Isn’t it crazy she’s not using any?!
I was wondering what company published the music for this piece? I scoured through the internet and have a lot of trouble finding your version!
All of Copland's music to my knowledge is published by Boosey and Hawkes. boosey.epartnershub.com/Hoe-Down-from-Rodeo-8209.aspx
It seems to be good... What's wrong with her version?
Beef- it’s what’s for dinner.
I would really like to play this piece. Is it available for purchase???
Here's a print source if you want the whole ballet. www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/rodeo-sheet-music/4093079
i am JELUS
Great! When did you perform this?
arika002 I think, this video was recored in December, 2013. I have been performing "Rodeo" very often since then. Thank you for watching my video.
I prefer this version on piano over the original
Very clean, crisp playing! Is that an intermediate improvisation?
No, it's in the sheet music, just always skipped.
beef
I knew it was gonna be good as soon as I saw she was Asian
Beef
... It's what's for dinner. : )
A nice 121st birthday present for Mr Copeland.
I've been glossing through all the comments just to find this one
Who’d a thought a gay, Jewish, urban man and an Asian woman could capture the Wild West in music?
It's called plagiarism and cultural appropriation, dear children! Kidding aside, many of the tunes from the ballet were ripped right out of Wild West Pop Culture. Hoedown it self is the tune Bonaparte's Retreat. ruclips.net/video/1yeQucos9-M/видео.html
Possibly because they’re both American
Couple of mistakes.
