- AI, TikTok and Automation threaten both the livelihood and attention span of musicians. But hopefully live music will endure. And it may be thanks to this song and these four chords

Rory Gallagher was the best to come out of Ireland, his live shows were even better than his albums which is indeed a rare thing
The "7 Nation Army" riff by The White Stripes could have been played on the 1st guitars 3,000 yrs. ago, jamming at Giza for the Pharaohs! 🎸😎
Whilst my opinion may be unpopular I’d rather listen to music recorded on an 8 track. I’m fed up with this big machine .
Also your English is first class but the term you keep missing in this video is “wing it”
This and creep were the only song I refused to hear during my jobs as rehearsal studio attendant.
Even more then wunderwall. Tbh most guitarist don’t even play wunderwall properly.
Most of the band that rehearsed here were into hardcore and metal
Even then I don’t mind them
Until someone decided to play both of this song.
Creep - I ain’t find the storytelling tasteful and the music were flat af
Zombie - if your vocalist can’t hit the darn note don’t insist on playing it in the original tuning. Most of you guys don’t even know what this song is truly about. Truly a genuine showcase of ignorance.
Ironically, the I-V-vi-IV in C will save live music. At least for cover bands. CGAmF
you mentioned guitar and female voice going together...check out one of my favorites... the live version by elise legrow of 'drinking in the day'
Will do
That’s so funny! That’s why I went back to guitar too. Nirvana. Now when I pass I will have a bunch of gear no one wants. My hobby is imitating artists that were relevant back in the late sixties and early seventies. I have to have a good sense of humor when I take my own inventory.
Your video essays are my favorite thing to listen to in the mornings, keep it up!
Thank you
We tried zombie in a band years ago but nobody could really sing it. lol
It’s a lot harder than it sounds!
@@JojoFryrocks the way she sings is almost like yodeling.
I think I have probably been lucky to play with some amazing singers
@@ministryofguitar My current project is backing a young female (19). I've mostly played with male singers or myself singing. So, it's been a great change up.

Dolores was amazing. I was so sad when we lost her.
Yes
Totally relate to all of this; Kurt is the reason I picked up an electric guitar when I was 13, I made a video about him and how he inspired me on my channel. One of my go-to open mic night songs is by the Cranberries, it’s Linger rather than Zombie but agree that the song is a great vehicle for enabling a relatively inexperienced group of musicians to perform live ❤❤❤
Yes they have quite the repertoire. One of my side projects started with a rendition of 'Animal Instinct'
I don't think I've ever heard this song LOL. Maybe in the background somewhere but it never registered. Don't think I'll be learning it anytime soon.
I love how good the drums are on the recorded track.
I hate the sound of her voice, honestly...that being said, they were successful as a band so good for them
K.I.S.S. principle applies to music. I am not a pro but have played a lot of open mic stages. Never played in a band. One guitar, one or more voices. My favorite times are when someone else is enjoying what I am doing enough to get up and sing at the mic next to me. I love open mics because the people are there for the music and to hang with other players and singers.
