I miss china so much. I was there for six month as a private English tutor/nanny to a family and I loved every bit of it. I had an amazing experience and before you ask no I never experience any racist comments when I was there. They treated me with respect and I made so many friends over there, even a boyfriend(ex now). I was in Jilin Changchun but I honestly loved every bit of it. If China was open now I would’ve went back in a heartbeat. That how much I love China. I hope China opens back up again because I got a job as a nanny in Guangzhou with a family and just waiting until it opens back up. I just love China and I’m so happy you’re enjoying this beautiful country.

I can speak a little chinese, since im minoring in it at college but i feel like I will have a hard time sustaining conversation as easily as you do. Im also a black woman so I know they will ask for pictures often, so i worry about my speaking skills hahah

Hi Jodi, for 4months I recommend you consider schooling at big cities like Beijing Shanghai, life would be much easier for you. And more young people can speak English, it will be helpful for you to get into the language environment quicker
Don't worry, especially if you are in China's big cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen or the capital city of every province, young people basically speak English and the infrastructure generally has English.

the man didn't have to buy a ticket not because he has Chinese ID card, probably just because he's over 60 years old, Chinese under 60 still have to buy tickets. if im not mistaken, foreigners over 60 can also enter for free.
