Hey Pascal, I was wondering wether or not you got around to making that Lightguide Video ? I was trying to get that kind of simulation working.

That little menu on the left at the beginning, with exterior light, ambient color and the intentsity slider, can you ceate that in such a way that it can be there as a meny on the dashboard which in VR could be controlled by pointing the controller finger and pressing the trigger. or actually sliding the slider?

Sure. The menu is built in html5 that triggers python and is mapped to a frontplate. But can also be mapped to a material and assigned to geometry in the scene like here ruclips.net/video/UnSOHokZE2c/видео.html HTML menus act similar to touch sensors and can be triggered with the Laserpointer or the finger tip of the hand representation in VR.

Here the guy swipes such a html menu with the hand representation in VR but works exactly the same with the Laserpointer ruclips.net/video/T8AWYLD9HX8/видео.html

Hello blogger, how do you make the UI on the left side of the VRED interface?

    • @VREDexpert

This is a frontplate with HTML. The JavaScript in the HTML sends python code to VRED. Check the example folder or Asset Manager for examples.
