Just picked up one of these rigs, for my son. He’s 7 and wanting to get into RC cars. Excellent review. He has had a blast with this little truck so far! Definitely going to upgrade it to lipo, 4WD, and rehear it for him later. But as is, it’s excellent for him to learn. Thanks!
That's awesome he will enjoy! I still have mine and I still enjoy playing with it even in its stock form.
@@MikesHobbyPlanet the only thing I’ve noticed with his, is after about 10+ minutes of him driving it, it will just stop. I’m guessing that it has a cool down future for the motor. Cause the battery still has juice in it.
How have you liked this truck so far. I’ve always been a Traxxas guy, don’t want to turn my 3.3 Revo over to my 8 yr old just yet. I’ve been gearing towards this unit for him lately. Any thoughts?
It's slow but I love it. It's a safe bet for your kid.

The granite seems a happier chap with the 2wd brushed
They’ve obviously geared it accordingly to match the the smaller tyres for the same speed , so the motor most likely has a lower gear hence why it spins the wheels
The vorteks sounded bogged down .
I just Bought the Granite Boost in blue and I am wanting to throw a 3s in it already 😆, I have the Vorteks and got it in 4x2 and I did all the upgrades to it even threw a 3s kit in it to the 4x4 kit as well
I bought this orange truck for my son awesome truck he loves it but now we are looking to make it faster can someone tell me the best upgrades would like to get 55-60 out of it
What is BEST traxxas stampede 2wd brushed ou arrma arrma granite bost?
It depends on what you want. They are both similar but also different. Stampede will wheelie and flip over a lot. The Granite won't.
Very nice beginner RC . What do u think about the gps that u r using ? . I'm in the market 4 one and don't want to spend a 100 dollars on one .

Nothing yet Perkin! I will get it soon and tag you here when I make the video. From things I've read though it slows the vehicle down significantly, It's why I've been hesitant to do it hehe.

How much does the conversion cost?
The 4wd conversion is around $40. Plus the cost of the upgraded electronics.

silly question, looking at getting one for my son for Xmas he's 12, does it reverse? and the 4x4 conversion is just installing the prop diff and shafts right? what other upgrades are needed?
Yes it has reverse. The 4x4 conversation. Should have everything you need in the box

Just got the same truck subscribed to see how the 4x4 upgrade effects its performance and more great content. I am debating on buying the battery charger and additional batteries or waiting to upgrade to 3s lipo. If i get the 2 3s battery and charger kit would i be able to use them in a 6s fire team as well?
No they plug in the batteries is smaller for this model. Thanks for the sub!
Once you do the conversion is the truck the exact same as the 4x4 out of the box one or is there other differences on the truck?

@@Barker63 the ic3 is larger and will require a harness from ec3 to ic3

@@Barker63 all the new stuff has ic3. It also has a balance lead in the middle. When using the smart charger you don't need to plug anything else in. Anything for the foreseeable future will come with the ic3 but it's all still usable with the old as long as you have the harness.b

why not just by the $199 one without the nickle battery, it sucks.
