I did this at 610 on my paladin and at 600 on my warlock. Both without addons. It must have have taken at least 100 tries, but now I feel like I could do it consistently. A couple of tips that helped me: Make a macro to interrupt your focused target so you can burst egg without changing targets if the boss heals. Figure out how you're going to deal with the dot. Remember its also a snare, so you can remove it with any magic clensing as well as snare clensing. As a pala, BoF is amazing because you have a talent that allows you to also clense Brann, which keeps him alive longer. Very useful for phase 2. You can macro it to target brann without actually switching your target. What pushed me to win is figuring out the "checklist" of attacks the boss has when the egg spawns in phase 2 (and 1 to some extent). After spawning the egg the boss will do one of each moves he has once before you (hopefully) break it. That menas he'll smash the ground once, fear once, try to pull you in once, heal once, spawn swirlies once and dot you once. The order isn't fixed but if the egg is across the room from him and he hasn't smashed the ground yet, don't sprint to it, kite him to it. If he hasn't cast the fear yet don't cast an ability with a long cast time on the egg. You may have to stop casting to move away from his fear, wasting egg killing tome. If you have a melee interrupt and he hasn't cast heal yet, don't sprint across the room to the egg. Every egg spawn you have to keep a mental checklist of his abilities, which ones he cast and which he hasn't and position acordingly. I believe if you fail to kill the egg the next egg spawns faster. Sauce is trust me bro. I'm 100% sure I was taking less damage from his auto attacks on my 600 warlock than I was on my 610 paladin. It wasn't even close. I was fighting for my life, begging brann to throw more potions on my paladin while I was chilling on my warlock when he didn't cast abilities. Lasts tips are about Brann. I was only able to beat the boss with the relic that makes you small, which only happens half the times. He has a respawn timer he never fully dies. Also, eating his food gives 5% primary stat.
i did the ?? zekvir 2 IDs ago. what helped me the most, was going into bigwigs settings, marking the countdown for the heal and airhorn, when he starts the cast. was really fun progressing the boss, once i had him at ~5% focused the egg, missed the heal and he was back at 90% health...that pissed me off a lot, but i was glad the moment i took him down and being one of the first on my realm pool, with the voidy delve mount^^
My biggest piece of advice is pace yourself. You are likely going to take several attempts, and youre going to die to things that feel like BS. Stuff like Zek spawning an egg far away, and waiting till you run over to it before casting the heal. Or waiting till you get there to do the wide cone attack. or Brann dying in p2 and you having to go 30 seconds without an extra potion. or Zek targetting Brann with cone attack and spinning around the round and clipping you. Sure theres some counterplay but not every time, it sucks but its going to happen. Pick yourself up, pay your repair fee, and keep at it. Oh and an interrupt macro with /targetlasttarget is a game changer too.
To all the players starting this fight… Be patient, focus on mechanics and do your best to time your offensive CD’s on eggs. My biggest issue with this fight was taking my time… we’re so used to trying to pew-pew through everything. Even if it takes you more than 5 minutes, play for the long game. It took me about 7 minutes to down him, but it got done.
The first egg comes about 25-30 seconds after the pull, after that it comes about 45-50 seconds. So on the pull do not burn your shit; that's a trap. You wont have anything 30 seconds later nor 1:15 later. This pattern resets when he starts phase 2 as well. Just because you CAN blow your CD doesnt mean you should.
Still can't get this SOB down as a prot pally in 620 gear, I just don't have the burst to get that damn egg reliably down, my CDs are just too far apart. I also swear they've reverted some of those earlier nerfs, when that spider pops out his egg, his health IS NOT the same as the egg anymore, it JUMPS up at least 50%. Frustrating as hell fight.
I started WW 4 days ago. Playing a Retadin at 605 ilvl atm. I get the impression that I should better wait to be at least 610 or 615. Does the quest for this block progression in any way?
I killed him on the first difficulty with no issues on a BM hunter. But on the second difficulty, he was one-shotting my Clefthoof and I couldn't do anything to him.
Its very weird to do on a BM hunter. You the hunter have to tank, its counter-intuitive for BM and requires a weird opener so your pet doesn't immediately get aggro and obliterated, but doable.
Yeah it's odd. I couldn't get very far on my bm hunter who's still like ilvl 570 lol, but like the other guy said, you'll need to keep growl off and do most of the tanking. This MIGHT be a bit different during P2 when the boss does fewer melee hits but beware
You don't have to solo the tier 10. I ended up bringing a friend in fungal folly because there was a mini boss on top of a group of 5 empowered mobs which was on top of the objective... and I am disc. 😂 You could technically also cheese it, just don't activate the stone for the extra life. Wait until you get to the end and are about to fight the boss and go back to the stone for the extra life. Then when you complete, assuming you don't die, you will still have a life remaining for the achievement and unlock.
Plays 610 mage, gets one shotted and counterspell never seems to align even with talent for cd reduction. Plays on 617 warrior tank, can survive boss hits and crits, but cant kill the egg even with cd and dps focused talents….
The fight does not feel very nice to play if you play the mechanics correctly, just to be killed by 3M melee hits or to die by any dodgeable ability cause you are slowed cause you can't have enough interrupts and Brann is doing nothing to help you. I guess I will wait until the end of the season to try with the best gear I could possibly get. And I might still be dependent to get that one lucky try where I won't just inevitable die to some shit or just get meleed.
Hopefully the RNG gods stops giving me trinkets soon so i can actualy get my char geared enough to take on the boss.. with 565ilvl i can say i took down the easier version but that wont happen on harder version 😅
You're going to need a lot more than trinkets. Ilvl 565 is way too low for the fight soul is referring to. I'd recommend at least 610+ for the average player. A very skilled player could probably get by with 600+, but will be quite a bit harder.
Try to save potions for his auto attack "phase". When he doesn't have any other abilities to cast and he just sits there and clobbers you. I found that this doesn't happen too often. You could also save a pot/defensive for it

WW Monk getting melee for over 3/4 of HP pool with crit, or just bellow half for noncrit. That melee is every 2 sec

Brann kept getting feared out of the room and resetting the boss so I gave up. Maybe they will fix that soon
i keep forgetting about the projectiles from the fear in P2, i've ran into them going for the egg more than anything else

use energised barriers for every spittle , that way can use frost armor/ mass barrier to remove it . should always have counterspell for every heal
