  • During my 4 years studying in KL, people would always tell me to "speak Sabah". So that's how this video came about! Hope you enjoy it! Remember, this is only PART 1!
    Check out PART 2 here: • THIS IS SABAH (Ep. 8) ...
    Adam's video - • How to use Bah?
    Comment, like and share! :)
    -------
    THIS IS SABAH is a series created by ohheymissking to talk about tales, experiences and opinions that Sabahans face. All thoughts and ideas expressed in the series are based on my personal view (with a hint of exaggeration) and may or may not represent a typical Sabahan/Malaysian. Teeheee!

    lol the punyalah part,actually we sabahans shortened the sentence that has the word punyalah,like for example from this video the friend is late and she said punyalah,we sabahans literally understood it as 'punyalah teruk',but we only use one word with that spesific intonation of that word like she did in this video,so even tho she only said one word 'punyalah',because of the way she said it we sabahans know she actually meant 'punyalah teruk kau ni',so to make sure the word punya lah works you have to say it like she did in this video

    Sabahan and Tagalog languages have a lot of almost similar words. When i visited Sabah last 2013, i learned a few words like "kuning" (rice). In Tagalog, we call it "kanin". I also learned the word "pilaya" (bitter gourd) which is "ampalaya" in Tagalog. I just learned from one of your youtube videos about the word, "tulong" which has similar meaning in Tagalog. "Anu" is the same in meaning as well except that we most of the the time say it as "Ano". We even have a Tagalog expression called, "Anu ba?" (exaggeratedly, "Anu bah?" :)) I miss Sabah.

      I would say that the Kadazandusun language has more similarities to Tagalog language. For instance, kanon/kanin, bagas/bigas, parai/palay, etc. 'Kuning' is actually a malay word which means 'yellow' and I don't know where you've got the word 'pilya' but here we call bitter gourd as 'peria', which is a malay word as well.

    • @hrmnpsrffn
      @hrmnpsrffn 8 лет назад

      In addition, what is 'onu' in Kadazandusun which sounds almost similar to 'ano' in Tagalog. In malay BTW, it's 'apa'.

      Salah tei klau dia gendut, cute bh dia. You come at her again with comments like this I'd seriously end you. As a society we should work together and make people realize that beauty is not just by looking like those Vogue magazine models, instead we should work together to to instill a healthy body image to every single one of us, especially teenagers. Now quit that 'she's too fat' or 'she's too skinny' LOOKS ARE NOT EVERYTHING. I hope that you'll cone to understand your mistake, you could've affected her emotionaly with this comment. Please apologize 😔😔😔
