Thank you for the information on Swift transportation. I hear drivers talk so much crap about them. But to me, Swift is one of the largest trucking companies in the united states. I'm seriously considering going to work for them when I graduate truck driving school
As of now swift is the largest, and just like with any company there are going to be ups and downs. But overall for me it’s the fact that they treat you like a person here that matters. Definitely at least give them a call and talk to them when your ready the training program here is second to none
Go for it. Ppl talk crap about them because they’re the biggest company and everyone’s biggest competitor
Been rolling with Swift since May 2001. I am 53 Years Old.... Swift is a great company to work for. Everyones needs are different.
Any tips for someone coming to swift?
Looking at starting academy in Lewiston after the new year
Can I reference your driver number ?
I’m not type to jump around companies. I’m 40 years old and have had 2 jobs since I was 18
First job US Army
Second job Coca Cola
Only reason I’m leaving Coca Cola is because they are shutting down my location and moving production 150 miles down the road .
And if I’m gunna sell the house and move I might as well do something different,
swift is good for experience to find a local job later on or for people who truly have a passion for OTR. i quit after 3 months solo because the OTR pay was pretty low for the stress, responsibility and time away from home . had to dip into saving sometimes. i found a local box truck home daily , weekends off that paid $300 take home pay more a week. has all the bells and whistles . it wasn't even a competition. i learned a lot at swift but OTR lifestyle wasn't for me
I'm digging driving for Swift too. I've been here for about 5 months OTR and it's been good for the most part so far.
So far I am liking it, or at least there are more ups than downs. But I can say I am frustrated with them almost as much as I am happy with them.
@@markbennett5211 I’ve been with swift for 2 months OTR and I don’t get many good miles I’m averaging $600 a week ya’ll got any tips?
Are your miles over the road pretty good and stable? As being 7 western it’s hard to break 2200
How many years do you have driving, and what are you making per mile
@@Bearded_Devil I started driving in 1997 came off the road in 2017 and back on the road this year so 20 years driving.
Who the hell is the person in the thumbnail lmao
Lol. I was like wtf
the bait and switch
Planning on applying in the next couple weeks 🤙
It’s a good company I have my second month review along with my pay for month two here coming out soon
How long is the training? Where do they hold it? How long do you have to ride with a trainer after the training at the facility?
I know you are with your mentor for 4 weeks after the academy and I believe the academy is also 4 weeks but not completely sure on that part as I came here with experience and am just now going to be starting my journey as a mentor/trainer here.
@@markbennett5211 Oh cool, thanks!! I appreciate you reaching back out!!
now that two months have past, have the miles per week been any better ?
I'm in CDL school in Florida and most companies I've talked to either need 3 months or 6 months to 1 year or they just don't hire out of florida. So it's looking as though Swift is my only option, just wanted to be sure that the probable year commitment I will give them will be well worth it.
Yes miles are better though I am on a dedicated route now, I will be putting out an updated review of swift this week. Swift Walmart accounts out of Florida make good miles and money.
@@markbennett5211 that’s good to hear brother 🙏🏽
Thanks for the information am planning to come there,How do they pay
All miles you do between Monday and midnight Sunday night at midnight
May trucking and swift just hired me what company would you guys choose and why?
I have not worked at may but have heard good things, I am biased as I work at swift and love the way I am treated here along with all the opportunities they offer from otr, regional, local dedicated plus tuition reimbursement for college along with transition into the office at some point if you want to stop driving
What are you getting your bachelor's for? You're not going to stay in trucking?
Liberal studies. Not sure what the future holds as I will start my masters in education in May
They let you stay home for two weeks because they didn’t have any work for you.
No they let me stay home for my hometime due to my procedure I had done. Thanks for commenting and watching
One day off???
You get one day off for every 6 days out , but the driver leads are pretty flexible
