Great video as always! If you allow me one question please. For a small Home studio which "key light" do you think is a smarter buy? The 300x or the 600x Pro? Thanks in advance and sorry for my English; i'm still learning Have a Productive and Helathy day!
This comparison is so much more helpful than a typical “single product” review. I really appreciate you testing daylight output and testing RGB against Nova 300
Here to thank you for creating this channel. It's been a long journey, but this channel helped me to where I am now. Went from consumer camera skills to filming/editing a TV show. Couldn't be more happy having this profession. Keep up the great work, you're helping a lot of folks.
The huge difference in output between the 600d and 600x/600c output really makes these feel like different product categories because the use case is so different. If you were to think in terms of output instead of power consumption with the main point of difference being features the range would instead be 300d/600x/600c, With the 600D sitting out on its own as a light that can be used for large booklights, punching through windows, etc.
Very helpful comparison! Sorry to hear about the back; sadly this biz is pretty hard on the body, whether you’re on large or small sets. And it’s not always clear how this or that tweak happened. Feel your pain and wish you the best getting back to your regular self.
@@dslrvideoshooter I imagine you get the question a lot: what should I buy and how does the brightness compare? Now I will just point people to your video!
Thank You Caleb! Wishing you a speedy recovery❤️🩹. My 600C Pro arrived last week and I couldn’t be happier. It’s plenty bright at 30% intensity for my needs with interior spaces and we’ll worth the price to have built in color gels at my fingertips. Traditional gels significantly reduce output on any light and higher output lights do have burn potential with gels applied so it was an easy choice going RGBWW.
Super clean video as usual! Hope you get better soon. Those cymbals definitely woke me up with headphones on as I had this playing on my second screen. ;D
Does engaging the G/M shift option in the 600C, cause it to lapse into RGB mode and drop from 56,000 lux to 5,640 lux? I'd only be buying this light for the ability to set color temp + G/M shift, so if it can only output 5600 at that moment it's not worth the investment for me...
awesome video Caleb ! I feel you with the massive back problems 😢 sometimes I have to be out for days because of that, be careful man, I found out after many medical test that my problem was do to a hernia on my lower back so ... lifestyle change, anyways feel better man !
Thanks for this video and hope you get better soon! Question about output. What is the difference in output between the 600x and the 600d with a gel on it?
Thanks man! That is one of the tests I really wanted to do. My guess is the 600D would still be brighter with a full or double CTO but I really can't say without checking.
Hello i have a stupid question, what does a stronger light source makes in difference to the shadow quality ? let's imagine i have a 1200 aputure and make the light away from the actors does it allow a more contrasty look ? or something like that
Did you find and answer? Okay i got this from a facebook group. rosco or lee . "get 1/2 straw which is similar to 1/2 cto but plays nicer with LED lights. if you double 1/2 you get full so it’s much more versatile. a peice or two of 1/4 is also good. stay away from no name/ weird brand stuff. full cto is only 2/3 stop loss btw while CTB is 1 2/3 so easier to go warmer than cooler. even still a peice or two of 1/8 and 1/4 ctb can be handy for fixed temp lights."
mans went undone for a couple of seconds with that purple
you never go full gerald

Literally needed this video so bad! Thank you!

Could you elaborate on the 2 Diffusers you are using. Where they the two that were provided with the soft box? What strength? Thank you

very in depth, but comparing a brand to itself leaves us without context ... is there already a video that covers this?
Thank you for the video! Can you compare LS 600c with Nova P600c?
Great video as always! Hope you start feeling better! I look forward to the day Amaran makes a 200c RGB!
Yes!!!
Do the 600d and 600d pro actually have equal output? At 119,000?
I just sold my 600 D and got the 600 X last night. gonna play around with it soon :D
Oh nice! Great light.
How did it go? I'm tossing up between them. Regrets or the right move?

Is a daylight bulb with a gel still better than an rgb bulb for color accuracy of the scene?
Does these kind of lights get less brighter after using overtime? Over couple of years?

600C in RGB Lux is the same as Nova P300C, right? I'm starting to hesitate. I think 600C will be 2-3 times more powerful.
Who would have thought that using Bosca Ceoil for a little bit actually helped learn how to use a DAW lol

Thanks! How do these lights play with higher frame rate video above 60fps? Like 120, 240 etc.
Yeah I'm thinking about getting a pair of 1200d and 600c for the ultimate corporate gig solution. Also to ditch the gels once and for all.

Some times you just have to get weird with gongs!
Would it be safe to say that if you put a Full CTO gel on a 600d it would cut the intensity down close to a 600c level set at 3200k?
