I know this comment is super late but, the hood dampers are not going to prevent you from lifting the hood because you have a carbon fiber hood. It's saying that you need hood latches with the damper to prevent the preloaded stress popping your hood off when you hit the interstate, regarding cf hoods.
In the picture they put the bracket above the plastic piece.. I didn't want anyone to see the bracket! Or you can run no plastic engine bay trim.. As well..
