It’s kind of strange been the only person commenting on your videos in like five years but I feel like I’m living your life vicariously through your videos, no complaints whatsoever.
Fantastic - we were lost without you! Brady and Joshe did a truly excellent job on their two videos, but we sure missed having you all together. Can't wait to watch - thanks.
Watching the episodes and sailing adventures! Delos is the best sailing channel to watch in you tube! Thanks for sharing the videos! Fair winds and blue skies ahead!
I just wanted to say thank you for all the inspiration. Took me a year of watching videos and dreaming about your journeys to push me to buy a boat and sail away. This month I've made the dream my own! Bought an good old sailboat with a bunch of work needed. But, when I'm done it will be great. Hope to see you out there one day. Thanks again.=)
+Bryan Thompson Bryan! Well that's just fantastic news, congratulations to you and wishing you all the best as you prepare for your own journey! Fair Winds- Brian SV Delos
Hello Delos crew, I just got off a 4 day trip on a 1999 Amel super maraum, the owner made us run the motor at 3600 rpm for a minute for every 12 hours or so motoring. He said he replaced two turbos before he started doing this and has never replaced one since. It flushes a lot of the carbon out.
Great video, enjoy watching them! Just an FYI from one engineer to another...that is the turbine side of the turbo you show at 8:30, which is spun by the exhaust gasses. The other side would be the compressor.
+Jacob Buehn Ha ha, yep you guys are on top of it! Totally correct that it's the exhaust side. Fair Winds, and thanks for the correction. Brian SV Delos
Been watching all the videos from the beginning. Truly inspiring of what is capable if you are in full hardheartedly. I look forward to the next glimpse of whats to come. Hopefully one of these days we can cross paths, take care.
Whenever i watch this videos , it truly makes me feel like I'm living them with you guys!! It's an escape from reality a nice one! Thank you , keep it up ! I hope one day be able to accompany you guys!
Just realized that you just created this last video. Brian, you remind me soooo much of a great friend of mine, George. Keep it up guys - I love watching these!!!!!
Man, talk about wanderlust! I'm glad you guys showed how you got your dinghy on board, I was always curious how you did that. Fair winds guys, and gals!
Just remembered your polishing the prop as I had years ago. We returned after a few weeks away to find each prop blade looking like a boxing glove. Anti fouling the prop was routine from that time on..
Another fab bit of story telling....:) Brian, you do know there are some syphon pumps that dont require sucking on the end of the pipe !!!....... Thanks again to all the crew.
Brian, I love the way you are so detailed with your videos. I really liked when you had Karen take video of the turbo and putting WD40 on it. I feel like I am there with you guys. Here I am in my office watching people living life and being happy!!! You guys are awesome!!!!
+Sheila meri Cool Sheila, glad you like the details and find the little things about sailing interesting. Fair Winds, and wishing you the best! Brian SV Delos
New to sailing and have recently binged watched all of your videos. Great story telling and informative too! I definitely misspent my youth in the midwest USA. I hope to grab as many nautical miles as I can while living in CA. If you ever find yourself porting in SoCal, dinner and drinks are on me!
Gweng zao? I love you guys. I'm sure you've been offered a correction before, but in case you haven't, it's pronounced: 'Gwang-joe'. Your channel is fuel for my soul. Keep on cruisin'.
SV Delos Crew thanks for making my Friday afternoon bearable. Your travels, and adventures are exactly what I would have done at your age if I was exposed to sailing back then. If you make it to SF Bay someday looks us up. "Maururu"
+Kevin Holden Oh cool Kevin, love to know we brought a little lightness to your Friday afternoon. Fair Winds and if we ever make it back to SF will give you a shout! Brian SV Delos
now i've seen ALL videos from famous Delos - and to me, this is the start of the really cool ones - 'cos quality grows up.. and the production is gettin more and more PRO - and beside this; you're all lookin so much more cool and "souverän" and chilled! ;) - at this point; i think - there's no other "S/V Production Staff" out there at your great level of quality AND lifestyle AND charme! ;) Greets...
+CREAMORE.TV Hey thanks for that, really appreciate your comment. We try to put alot of love and passion into the editing so really happy to hear it shows through and you noticed. Fair Winds! Brian
A non-boat related fix you guys might want to look into: turn your wine bottles upside down (or lay them on their sides). The idea is to keep the corks moist. A dry cork allows oxygen to permeate the bottle and the resulting oxidized wine will go sour.
thanks for stopping by to brunei guys I was really happy to watch all of ur episodes n was really shock to see a sticker of brunei flag at ur boat n so happy n thankful to u guys for puting our country in ur video even though a short clip visit ...u have inspired me to do what u guys are doing so guys keep it up..
I'm only now watching from the start. There's a different atmosphere back in 2015. I can't really point out what.. Wish i knew about Delos back when you guys were passing through Indonesia. Will def hit you up if you ever sail around these area again in the future..
Good morning ... I did not know you were from Miami... ,! I am from Cuba .. But London been my home for the last 25 years ... Last week I contributed with a beer..love your video Kind regards Omar
Hi guys, am I excited???? This is so good to see you back on board Delos. I'm alive again, being able to watch the adventures once more. I'm about to register for a complete sailing course very soon. I just have to start getting into this lifestyle. What a way to live. Here's wishing you fair winds and safe passage. Until next time, feel the love from Sydney :)
I love watching you guys, I wish I would of found you from the get go. Like Jimmy D says , It is a break from every day life. I live vicariosly thru you guys .
Video excellent! Informative & interesting to see effort prepping to get back out. Making shipshape and Bristol fashion. We like to get to know the crew better too. If they are willing, maybe some more about the current crew next time. Of course Linn & Larry Pardey did their first ten years without a motor. I wonder if being in irons or dealing with a broken motor and refueling is better? I guess it would be hard to go back to those times. They didn't make videos, water, electricity, refrigeration, compress air, use GPS. Hard to imagine isn't it? (P.S. The beer money (via PP) is to recognize Brady and Josje's videos too. They did a great job on the last two.)
Idk if delos will have a chance to read this but other might) When you buy produce for meat; if you get the bones out before you put it in the freezer your save a lot of space and do not have to carry trash.
Hey Brian, I've worked in Brunei a few times now, cool place, if you go back there, pay a visit to the water village, they call it the venice of the East and then treat yourselves in the Empire hotel.... just a couple of cool things to do there. The fuel is subsidised by the sultan of Brunei, he has so much money he can make it cheaper for everybody there, he as also built entire water villages for his people,...nice guy apparently. Found a couple of nice diving spots there also with a local company. Just thought I'd throw some info in if you didn't know already. BR Chris and Tanja, Stockholm
So glad to see another video. I just started watching your videos and couldn't stop. Just have to say good job editing the videos they look very nice. Always liked sailboats I liked to watch the Volvo Ocean Race and it's nice to see a more relaxing side of it. being in the middle of the prairies, I've never been on a sailboat but I guess that's what RUclips is for. LOL
Hi, thanks for the great videos! One Tip for siphoning: just push the hose down the jerrycan, block it with your thumb and pull it out again (ideally wiping it with a piece of cloth at the same time). Then remove your thumb. You just have to cover more than the height of the container and gravity will do it's thing... Cheers, Andi
Agree with other comments, living my dream and get yourself a Super Siphon - it's a plastic hose with a ball in a metal fitting at one end. Put it in liquid and jiggle and it starts the siphon, no need to get that bad stuff in your mouth- wishing good fortune to Delos and her Crew.
That was great. New crew looks like they will do just fine :) That is some cheap diesel! It's 2.53 $ here in Texas. Keep up the awesomeness guys! Loving it
Another great vlog mateys; even though we know you're somewhere in the west I.O. due to an event we had here in Fla. Please folks, while underway, Wear those Harnesses and Tethers. Over this last week we LOST Two Teen Sailors to the Atlantic, where those Tethers COULD have at least kept them with they' capsized but afloat 19'r.
+daverjax Yea it's serious business, there was a sailor lost off the coast of South Africa just a few months ago here as well. Wishing you all the best! Brian SV Delos
I forgot to mention, the next time you guys hit heavy seas or a storm, please try and record it (considering your safety first of course) as I'm sure many would like to see what it's like out on the open ocean aboard a sailboat when things are not too pretty. It would help us when its our turn to venture into the land of the sails :D
Wind to a sailor is what money is to life on shore. Glad to see the Delos crew back where they belong....Keep it between the squalls and enjoy the wind...
holy cow, you guys was in Detroit or Chicago (layover or switched planes).... Near me... :] I missed ya. lol Safe travels! May you always have the sun in your face, wind at your back and a beer in your hand.... ;)
Ahoy Delos! For siphoning fuel, or any other liquid for that matter, there is an easier way. Try to find a gizmo called a "Simple Siphon" You can google it. Mine cost about $5 US. It's a little formed copper tube like device with a glass marble in the end. You attach your hose to it and put it in the fuel container as you would to siphon, but instead of sucking on the hose to start the flow, you just jiggle the hose up and down in the container a few times and the flow starts. No muss, no fuss.
My wife and I did this for three years. All I can say is follow your dreams. The best time of our lives.
Watching Delos is a nice break from life. Thanks for sharing.
The tradition continues!
It’s kind of strange been the only person commenting on your videos in like five years but I feel like I’m living your life vicariously through your videos, no complaints whatsoever.

Great work in sorting out the engine problem. Wonderful to get all that fuel so cheap. An enjoyable video.

Great Video guys - keep it going!
awesome, can't wait for more!
Can't wait to the next video...
