A great big well done Golden Child, great to see mum and dad with you along with the rest of the crew. Also you fulfilled one of your promises, Mahi did sail THIS year.👍👍
Oh, man. Mark that was sooo worth the wait. I am so made up for you. Hearing your mum saying how proud she was of you brought a tear to my eye and I'm sure there were around 90k people feeling the same way. After all you've been through over the past year this is your vindication. Well done dude! ❤
The most obvious aspect of this video is that it shows you have incredible, charming, warm hearted parents. You are really fortunate to have that kind of support. The boat is coming along nicely…well done… be safe
One of the best videos you’ve made recently, some RUclipsrs make a whole video on fault finding and cleaning a carb - you gave us 15 seconds, whip it out, straw it through, engine running - chip off the old block… also watching your mum sat in a deck chair perched on the pontoon saying ‘this is great’ was class.
Mark, May I make a positive comment, when you are using a hole saw to cut the finger holes in the plywood birth boards, just before the hole saw cuts through, flip the board over and cut from the opposite side… you will eliminate the break out of the veneer… John… Ontario, Canada
For some bizarre reason this reminded me of an old Woody Allen film, set in the future, where he finds an old VW Bug buried in a cave. He turns the key, it starts up, and he drives away.
The finest edit you've ever made, in my opinion. You've got some great skills mate and you should be extremely proud of what you are achieving and the fine man you've become.
Good on yah , where there is a will ,there is a way and you did it . I'd say true grit . Lol. Looking forward to see her on the hard and get on with the major refitting. Angus SV Violet Walters
That was Epic. As a worn down world traveler living vicariously through yours and others fresh adventures... I could taste the joy of the ,not so small, achievement. Well done Skipper. 🤩🙃🙂
I'm flabbergasted that you were able to take this big hunk of a cat across the meer under its own steam that was nothing more than a few small outboards and heath robinson rigging. A great achievement and a shape of things to come.
Mark! When you took in that deep breath and said ahhhhh it's actually making sailing noises...I could totally feel your stoke! Good work man! And you're a good lad for telling your folks you couldn't have done it without them. Godspeed.
So glad to see you at a yard well done to the lads who gave up their time to help and your mum and dad are bloody legends pal can't wait to see you sailing properly again 🎉
I was gonna talk shit about you not uploading a video for two weeks, but then your parent showed up and I decided to forgive you. Glad to see your folks. Kudos to all of your friends who showed up to help, good people one and all. Also, the video and sound are extraordinary, especially the soundtrack, great choices!
I started restoring 35 ft coral sea. When I got it you could push your finger through the hull where it had soaked up water. x grand later It had me beat. So well done to you son. Great job
1:58 protip so you don't blow through your ply: drill the pilot, then score the hole cutter on both sides, before going away at it, that way, you won't be pulling the veneer with you when you pierce. :)
love it mark , this footage will be stored in the internets archives for decades to come , and will be used in historical videos far into the future , well done young man , you are a man of youre word , she is sailing just as you said . keep her lit .
I get what you're saying,,,,but surely Mum's should see, applaud & support their children's dreams!!! I just couldn't feel any other way🤗Thanks so much Andrew🤗⛵️🤗
Before you bought that boat I am sure there were a lot of people who thought it would never move again. It is so great to see it well on its way to rehabilitation. I will admit to being skeptical when you bought it.
I’m so pleased to see this video. Mate! When you got to 2.5kts under ‘sail’ I thought bloody impressive for a jury rig. That’s a lot of boat to push with a couple of handkerchiefs. Well done young lad.
When using a hole saw: Drill the pilot and a little way in with the hole saw itself. Then flip the workpiece over and cut all the way through from the other side. You will have no tear-out as you exit the work piece, as you already made some cuts from the primary side.
Thank you for showing to young people that with little money, hard work, never giving up, being sociable and staying Hubble, can get you anywhere in this world. I salute you sir.
Like some others, I too was watching with a huge smile at what you accomplished! You are an amazing fellow with such a warm and caring attitude towards everyone, your success is assured.
This is amazing! It is so impressive to watch you do so much with so little. And to see you get so much support from your parents as well as others. Your positive attitude is infectious. Keep going!
I'm constantly astounded by Mark's inventiveness and, as you say, resilience. He is a true antidote for the generally "entitled" young adults in the UK (and, I suspect, elsewhere in the 1st world).
