The Apple watch can make and receive phone calls on the watch itself as long as the paired iphone is nearby, though the built in speaker is a bit weak. The Urbane, however, completely lacks that ability. It cannot receive any calls. It does allow to make some but requires to use the phone or a bluetooth headset as soon as the call is connected.

What's happening is that people are looking at the resolutions (390x312 and 340x272), they're converting the watch sizes into inches (42mm=1.65" and 38mm=1.50"), and they're using that to calculate a pixel density of 302 ppi for the larger model and 290 ppi for the smaller model. Those calculations are incorrect because 42mm and 38mm correspond to the height of the entire watch face, NOT the diagonal of the AMOLED display. The displays are actually about 1.53" (~39mm) for the large model and about 1.33" (~34mm) for the small model. If you do the calculations with the actual screen sizes, you get a pixel density of about 325-330 ppi
That version of the LG watch color and strap combination is a definite upgrade. I want a smart watch but style is everything to to me and I prefer to keep tech convenient but not obvious.

For instance, you don't like "finding the right notch" on the Urbane (pronounced with a long ā) leaving the viewer to surmise that they are inferior to Apple's notches despite them being over priced. That's just one example. There are several throughout. You missed one big difference in the Wi-Fi connectivity piece. While both connect via Wi-Fi, the Urbane can connect through any network (even if your phone is on 4g, not Wi-Fi) to relay messages, missed calls and commands, ect. while the Apple watch must be connected on the same network as the phone.

Can I just point out that your chart for battery life is a bit off? The numbers are obviously correct but while the LG watch is charted at 14+ hours the IOS watch is listed at 10.5 hours but charted only at 6.5 making the times look vastly different... If you are having a fair comparison you should at least have accurate graphs
Watch Urbane has 245 PPI not 348. PPI calculated for a circular display is different than a square one. Just my input. Nonetheless the screen looks great. Also the Urbane does not have NFC. And last of all its pronounced Ur-BANE.

whats the game played on the Urbane with the motor cycle ? looks like im not using the watch as much as you. i get 2 days with no problem on my gwatch r (= the same as the urbane). when i go to bed on the first day i have 60% left and yes i have the always on enabled (but yes this highly depends on how you use it)
Not a fan of both smartwatches discussed in this video. I prefer Blocks Modular Smartwatch which is far better than the recent smartwatches. It's useful, modern, user-friendly and it definitely has smart and unique features. I'm sold with this smartwatch.
The LG watch is ALWAYS On, like a watch should be. The Apple watch is always dark and you have to wake it up to use. Quite an important omission. I get almost 2 days on my LG watch R and the display is always on.

Why do people always have that circular watchface on Apple Watches in their comparison videos, and then they never comment about it? A circular watchface on a square or rectangular display is a huge waste of space. The resulting clock displayed is about half the diameter of the clock displayed on the Urbane, which would mean the Urbane clock is around 4x larger in area. Essentially, it is much easier to glance at the time on the LG than the Apple when going with circular watchface, so why run the circular watchface on the Apple? You knew you were buying a four-sided form factor when you bought it.

i've tried apple watch sport edition 2 weeks ago in some store and i feel quite disappointed with the high sensitive touch, cos u need to press it harder to enter some features, but i do love the digital crown and i wish my G Watch R had it. and btw i've just found an apps both on android and ios to connect your android wear to your ios and i love it, i've connect both my 5s & Note 10.1 2014 Edition but it will drain android wear battery from about 2 days into 1 day since i've also bought a watch face that show real time compass and heart rate check every 10 minutes. But after all that's worth it because i didn't have to use or buy 2 smartwatch since i've use a cross platform device, an android and ios :) apps in playstore called Aerlink apps in appstore called BLE Utility (u don't have to JB ur IOS device)
there is really no option to take here, if you have an iphone the get the apple watch and the LG if you have and android phone. Would make no sense to replace your phone just to get the watch you want. unless you want to change platforms....
Just bought an L G Urbane- thought the apple watch looks like a kids watch , and like all Apple stuff it is overpriced and doesn't last very long and what's with the scroll wheel- perhaps Apple could tie that it to recharging the short battery life. The LG does look more classic and user friendly and something that was not mentioned - was it's imaging is larger - so for people like me with sight reduction, the larger size information and screen sells it for me every time.

The LG Watch Urbane is the better watch all round liturally, it looks better, like real classic timepiece, has all day+ battery life, has a bigger & higher quality display and costs less (UK price LG Watch: £259 vs Apple Watch Sport 42mm: £339)
I'm glad I switched to android and now get to use the beautiful LG Watch Urbane.

"Err-bane". That's why they put the "e" on the end. To make it sound "classier". Urban is quite ordinary. :-) I wanted the LG until I saw how freakishly large it is.
Why do people always have that circular watchface on Apple Watches in their comparison videos, and then they never comment about it? A circular watchface on a square or rectangular display is a huge waste of space. The resulting clock displayed is about half the diameter of the clock displayed on the Urbane, which would mean the Urbane clock is around 4x larger in area. Essentially, it is much easier to glance at the time on the LG than the Apple when going with circular watchface, so why run the circular watchface on the Apple? You knew you were buying a four-sided form factor when you bought it.
The urbane is not 348ppi!! Did you even look up the specs before making this???

The lg watch looks better than the apple watch but the screen quality and the bulky but nice build on it limits screen functionality both still great watches the all black apple watch sport looks way better

2. My experience using LG Watch Urbane for 2 weeks since this post
There's only 2 point Y i like Apple Watch compared to LG Watch Urbane:
1. The apps is much more variation than LG Watch Urbane/Android Wear. For example, if u have djay 2 app, u can use djay 2 on the Apple Watch while Android Wear including LG Watch Urbane still can't until now
2. It can use for calling via watch. But this point is not so useful as because the other person u talk to, will sounds on Watch's Loudspeaker only, & this is not so useful as because if u talk 2 someone in call using watch like this, all people in your surroundings might cringe at you
But Y I choose LG Watch Urbane? Because:
1. It supports Android, absolutely, & also iPhone even though some features maybe disabled when paired in iPhone. I use Xperia Z1 Compact for this Watch
2. The model, it's so classy! Much more classy compared with Apple Watch just like a classic watch! Very suitable for businessman!
3. Cheaper price, of course... & saying about the Gold edition in Apple Watch? LG Watch Urbane has also released the Luxe edition which the Watch Urbane is also built from real Gold 23 carat. The gold of course is different with normal edition's Rose Gold. Even the Luxe Edition still cheaper than Apple Watch Gold Edition, for $1200 only
4. The waterproof that LG Watch Urbane has, is stronger than Apple Watch. This LG Watch Urbane can even drowned on water for 1.5m
5. Don't know Y, the menu interfeace that LG Watch Urbane gives is much more familiar 2 me than Apple Watch.
6. Even though both watches can change the watch face, but as far as I take a look, Android Wear including LG Watch Urbane gives 2 much Watch Face that I can choose. I can choose Rubiks model, Adidas Y-3 Watchface that just released a few days ago, Asics, Plants VS Zombies watchface, or even NFS Most wanted tachometer as my watchface!
So i think... Both of this Watch is having a good standings, it's all depends on personal preference...

i've tried apple watch sport edition 2 weeks ago in some store and i feel quite disappointed with the high sensitive touch, cos u need to press it harder to enter some features, but i do love the digital crown and i wish my G Watch R had it. and btw i've just found an apps both on android and ios to connect your android wear to your ios and i love it, i've connect both my 5s & Note 10.1 2014 Edition but it will drain android wear battery from about 2 days into 1 day since i've also bought a watch face that show real time compass and heart rate check every 10 minutes. But after all that's worth it because i didn't have to use or buy 2 smartwatch since i've use a cross platform device, an android and ios :)

there is really no option to take here, if you have an iphone the get the apple watch and the LG if you have and android phone. Would make no sense to replace your phone just to get the watch you want. unless you want to change platforms....
LG urbane is wayyy better
The Apple Watch looks like a rubber watch for 12 y.o. You just can't be taken seriously as an adult with that on your arm.

Just bought an L G Urbane- thought the apple watch looks like a kids watch , and like all Apple stuff it is overpriced and doesn't last very long and what's with the scroll wheel- perhaps Apple could tie that it to recharging the short battery life. The LG does look more classic and user friendly and something that was not mentioned - was it's imaging is larger - so for people like me with sight reduction, the larger size information and screen sells it for me every time.
