- Hey guys, Just thought I would squeeze this 18:23 vid in between my editing the 2nd part of the Drill Rig repair. Been doing a little bit of This and That in between jobs. Lots going on. I also had some of those big yellow crane repairs in between as well. Unfortunately they no likey me filming those repairs😁😁. I've been trying to get this Ole truck running for quite some time now but hadn't made the time. I'll be making some videos of the modifications to this and to the forklift but as you know, time is never on our side. When we have the time. we don't have the money and vise versa. As a heads up, I have another Broken Banana video coming up. This one was a bigger challenge than what I first expected. You'll see why soon. So, kick back for a few minutes and let me know what you think of this Ole Gal. I'll see if i can link the video collage I made of this truck several years back. If not, I believe its titled " 1941 chevy 3500Hd". Check that one out too. Thanks for the support.
Isaac, i'm not sure that you understand your followers, and i think i speak for the majority, we just want to see your videos no matter what you are doing, you have taught me a bunch on technic using a torch, i watch how you position yourself and the way you are able to make the torch work for you instead of the other way around but the truth is even though you are bar none the best torch man i've ever seen that aint why we watch your channel, you my friend are so freakin humble and your demeanor and attitude towards everyday stuff makes us want to watch you even if you just taking us for a ride in a really cool old truck. truth.
I appreciate that. Thank you
20 second in and IMO the best part of the truck is already seen, a stick welder clamp for the stick shift lol
Lol. It took me a moment to figure out what it is, then I had a good laugh.
I miss it! Had to go back and re watch! 😆
I think that's cool little shifter first thing I notice to lol
This is the 3rd truck that has had a shifter like that. My current rig has the same one too!!😁😁😁😁👍👍
No,..when those old trucks STOP making noises, THAT'S when you look into it. 😂
Yes I dig it, what a beaut ole rig. Simple and elegant, none of the crap of todays trucks, love it.
Much better, more, servicable and dependable than trucks 80 years newer.
Helluva good choice for engine.
Well, imho 1941 was a very good year and I'm 82, so I know what I'm talking about. 😁
Truly digging that STINGER, for a shifter knob!👍👍
*I C Weld* She's a real beauty, thank-you sir for taking the time to bring us along. GOD Bless.
She's a beauty , and that front grill is a work of art . Thanks for the lift .
Get in touch with Richard's and Tersa s transmission in Armilo TX he'll line you up with what you need for your truck tranny and converter
I think that the stinger , is cool helping tangling Gears .
Nice truck, Isaac. From an era when life was much more simple.
Had two of these old fellas on the farm in Australia....bought at wars end in auctions. Straight 6, crash box....great for 12 year old to learn to drive in
Isaac once again it’s always good to hear your voice and see what you’re up to …there’s not enough for you to go around anybody works for themselves knows the deal keep up the great work… can’t wait for the motor swap when I was a young man years ago I used to drive old Iron like that on the farm old international Dodgers we had a 55 dodge it was sweet on my heart and old Chevrolet just like yours could never get it in the third gear no matter how many times we double clutch that you’re gone like Hell second and push it over and forth your brought back fond memories take care be safe waiting on the video junkman do
Nice orange 57 Chevy parked in the drive. The 1941 Chevy truck is a survivor for sure and not bad either.
You are a working man who does RUclips for fun. No complaints on the delay. Yes we want more vids. But, as I was told as a kid. Want in one hand, ish in the other and see which one gets full the fastest.
Hey Isaac,Love the patina.
Don't change a thing.
I like the old school look.
A real nice 1941 Chevy pick up. Look forward to seeing more of your videos. This was great enjoyed going along with the ride. 😊
Thanks for the ride. Pretty nimble old gal for an 83 year old.
I miss the old iron . Must be the old 216 stove bolt huh ? Or maybe the 235 ?... A bit of mods been done on it so I can believe it . Seeing the later model power brake system and all .
God, I miss the old trucks . California mirrors and all . And so comfortable driving with you arm on top of the door . Nothing like them . Oh yeah, I love that old round cornered flat bead ... Nice shape . :)
I got my drivers license in my dad's old 55 stude with a three on the tree with an old manual overdrive . I must have driven that old truck a hundred thousand miles . :)
Missed your videos Isaac .
Awesome 41! love to see that old iron still roaming the roads
I see you had the A/C on 😁 That 292's gonna be sweet.
That the engine started made me do a jaw drop! Wasn't expecting that!!! Any vid you put out is a good vid!
Great vid. The truck is a beaut. I love these drive arounds and to see who much space you have over there in the US. I realise how small and cramped the UK has become.
I absolutely love that truck. I would so tricked that thing out as a once in a while welding rig just as an advertisement piece to go around every once in a while show up on a job site. That would be so cool. Love that truck love that truck, Isaac.
Stinger for a shifter it's manly 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That is a real nice 41. Thanks for taking us for a ride.
I'd probably just sit here with a drink and watch these country road all evening if it was a two hour video -- caring for and taking the time, energy, and money to keep something like that in near daily driver condition takes a stable life.
Bless Believe me before you're done this truck will shine with new paint & mechanically, will be the sweetest truck in Texas. Thanks 😊
When you started out and music played I was waiting for Born to be Wild to play.
Feels a bit bizarre to me driving down the other side of the road. 🇦🇺
Great shakedown cruise. I live in Fredericksburg and go to Austin often. Recognized some of the highway scenes. I went to McCallum High in 1960, needless to say a lot has changed in Austin. I look forward to your videos and enjoy them very much. Take care.
Thanks for taking us along for the ride
My first ride. No key start but a peddle to engage starter, vacuum wipers, gear shift had a lever for reverse lockout, roll out front windshield, 216 engine, enclosed drive shaft. Cut fire wood with it in High School. Explored logging roads. Great ride for a boy.
Really nice, nice ride. But You turned the key instead of mashing the starter pedal on the floor....?
My father in law had a 63 3/4 ton 4 speed pick up he purchased used. One of the guys identified it as a 360 inline GM engine. I know it'd effortlessly move loaded hay wagons and other jobs. After sitting abandoned for some years he sold it to a young reckless neighbor lad who stripped it making a field runner out of it.
Don't shake it too hard, remember it's just a chevy, it'll completely fall apart!!
Any creator will say, editing it the most difficult part, aside from youtube not rendering
Who's that furry lookin dude drivin' ?? Just the sound of getting in the cab.... Vehicles of a certain age just have a different sound to them!! the rattles, clanks and squeaks.. Love it!
Awesome! I love the old stuff. I have 3 Willys CJ2A Jeeps. '46, '47 & '48. NOT FOR SALE😄
Sounds like you have the normal lifters tapping. I'd change them out soon before it knocks out the cam. Love your truck can't wait for future updates. You deserve something nice as hard as you work.
I would like to see you working on that old girl. A full video start to finish lasting a couple of hours long or a playlist.😁⚒️🏴
I love it. Have a 39 chevy, 55chevy and 66buick riviera that was my moms and it only has 72k on it.
NO power steering, air ride seat, electronic crap, power brake ....NO modern design.....shes a beauty. Great video.
Thanks for the ride! Cool truck, nice shifter.. I dont remember you getting caught at any stop lights. 🤣👍
Took me a few minutes to realize that you're tooling around south Austin! Def subscribed. Keep on killing it
Update the rearend to a higher gar ratio like 350s or 373s from those crawler 500s its got and a whole new driving experience will happen. Kee us updated.
Love the truck! Wiley looked pissed that you left without him, he would be a natural sitting in your truck. I hope you don't paint it.
That was a very nice 57 Chevy in that lot were the 1941 was parked in.
That 41 ford sure would be nice to own.
Yes...I dug the cruise. The 292 is a truck engine...but a big block hemi would enhance the ride to the store a real kick in the pants.😅
Love the gear stick handle! Nice and appropriate! LOL I was expecting a Charley Crockett song like " The Man from Waco"
My uncle had one. I don't know how long GM used that body style. The fun part was killing the motor on a hill. Took one foot for the clutch and brake, one for gas pedal and starter switch.
One thing I've always noticed about those old trucks brain flash The old truck smell they all smell the same
Nice truck, I’ve got an 86 one ton with a factory 292 and love the sound of those old 6 cylinders
I dig it❤️
That really was a shake down drive!
Sweet truck. The 292 engine is a 1st class choice for a classic like that. Hope you feature it when you have it in.
I'd reallly like to see the engine swap video on that truck..had a 51 GMC i wish i never sold.
My first vehicle purchased in 1969 was a 1936 Chevy pickup, all though it was highly modified. Cadillac engine, transmission and rear end, box was shortened to 4 foot, no hood, fenders or running boards. Quite fun both on and off road.
Olá amigo, que maravilha!!!Aqui no Brasil um caminhâo deste reformado vale uma fortuna!!!
Boa sorte sempre!!!
Ok,That's a very great truck.restore .making video parts.
Isaac that’s a beautiful old truck. They don’t make them like that anymore.
My 1st Chevy was a 1948 chevy 2 door coop, loved that car wish I still had it. Thanks for the video and the ride.😊
I wonder if todays modern trucks will be cruising in 70 years.
You don't need overdrive in that truck to go fast, just have the city lower the speed limit.
Isaac that truck definitely needs a old SA on the back, the 57 looks great also 🙌
Beautiful Truck. My I suggest spraying it with phosphoric acid, to convert the rust to primer, no prep needed 👍
For most of 1941 we were getting ready to shoot our iron at people. I had a 1942 Ford and I figured it was pretty rare too.
way to go! don't drive it to work cause you will be late! about 45 floored, downhill with a tailwind, neat to see the 292 in it.
yeah, this old thing is geared very low. I only hit about 45-50 max. Engine was screaming. Plus it has no power either.😕😕😁😄
@@ICWeld Might need a taller diff.
Old trucks are just nostalgic! 👍
my grand dad had a 1951 one ton, strait 6, 4 speed, 6 volt. very slow.
Nice, she drives and looks great and would look good sitting beside my 51 chevy 1/2 ton.
It’s a really cool truck . The 292 is a good motor but they love drinking gas . Thanks
Google maps shows this truck sitting in your front yard from 2 years ago! pretty cooL!
Yup. It was still usable. thats its parking spot. I have a small yard.😕
The trip to the tire shop was a treat Issac. Thanks for taking us along.
Best Wishes to You and Your Family.
That was positively awesome...... thank you!!
Nice ride glad you got a new toy but you need to tell us Motor Trends what's going on what you're planning to do with it
Cool truck. Thanks for sharing this video.
Cool. fit it out with Welding tool's from the 30s and 40s.
My sort of work truck.
I have played the "name that noise" game.
What a sweet ride! Thanks for the great shackedown video! I bet that chevy turned some heads! 😀👍
It is cool to put a Jackson electrode holder on your gear shifter...My uncle had an early 40' s Chevy 1 Ton stake for his vegetable market stand in the early 60's. Very nice dependable workhorse truck!
Looks awesome I have a 51 ford I was going to fix up and put my 58 sa-200 on it for a vintage pipeline rig just for fun
Love old-school stuff that needs to work. It don’t need to be scrapped because if we scrap them once they’re gone, they’re gone love it love it used the hell out of it.
Cool ride, and will do a lot of work carrying those 20 foot long standard steel pieces.
That's the plan!
Thanks for the ride !! Who's that ol' guy with the beard driv'n ? ☺
Good question!
Iove that truck it's a classic! 👍
I like it. 👍
I hit the 1.25 playback speed. You now have OD. Lol. Nice truck!
I did too. I didnt realize how slow the video actually was! I thought it was cooler in my head!
Nice old truck Isaac! I learned to drive on a 53 Chevy half ton with a foot starter and 3 on the tree. You mentioned that you needed and over drive. I was thinking you might add a manual 3 speed behind that auto and only run 2nd and 3rd gears. Doing this you could also change your rear diff to 4:11 and then be able to pull a fair load. Just thinking... Keep at it... stay safe!
Cool
That's a really cool truck! Love to see it at Top Notch one one eve!
Good looking old truck 👍
Shes a good looking ol girl. Is the orange tri five yours too?
She is Beautiful!! Sounds sweet Too!!!
That’s an awesome truck! Reminds me of a truck I helped my dad build back in the ‘70’s. It was a 1946 ford 1.5 ton. He put a 390 ford engine, 4 speed transmission, auxiliary over/under transmission, and a 2 speed rear end. He bragged that he could put it in low in all the tranny’s, let out the clutch, go to the house for a cup of coffee and when he got back it would only be a few feet down the road!😂
That would be sooo cool to have on my driveway!! Great, Mr Carran.
What a friggin beautiful truck I had a 53 1 ton Chevy but I couldn’t insure and registered because I was a kid and I had to leave it back in the territories in Canada
I can almost smell that truck cab through the screen… Love those old trucks
Are we going to see you put the other engine in, would love to see it.
Very cool old "Parts Truck". I dig it for sure!
nice truck one in a million
Shorten the wheel base and put on a welding bed 👍
What a great old truck. I love how the brake master cylinder and booster are almost as big as the motor. Thanks for the video.
