Could you do a video on like different weld settings for different thicknesses or metal and wire? Would be interesting to see how you set up a welder, your MIG always sounds and looks soo good.
Isaac. Showing your welds before grinding and painting is a testament to your skill and confidence. No instagram bullshit welds on this channel. Eres chingon!
@ICWeld Great job. The strongest welds ain't always the prettiest. My welds aren't always the best looking, but knock on wood, in 30 years of hobby welding I'm probably above 95% of my welds not breaking.
Man Isaac youre an inspiration to me, you're mobile and you have the shop right at home!!! I want that but for my mobile Tech/mechanic business. The satisfaction of getting something right on the money is very intoxicating lol.
I ran into an "abrasive's" manufacturer years ago that was shutting down. They were clearing the place out and the 2 guys still working there sold me a boatload of discs! Zip cut & grinding discs alone would fill a bathtub.....plus another tub full of 9" & chop saw size stuff. I am easy on my abrasives so I figured I had at least 2 lifetimes worth at hand.....all for 60 bucks! NEVER would I run out, nor have to buy any!!! Anyways, a long story short...the damn things had gone up in price considerably since my last purchase.
Man I HATE battery operated power tools. I much prefer an extension cord and toting a small Honda generator around if necessary. Unlimited power rules! You’re also the expert as I’m NOT, but I’m surprised you didn’t plasma cut many off those angles and such. I understand not using an oxy torch due to the plastic lights and the wood deck, but man you have some serious patience with using an angle grinder and a cut off wheel for all that cutting. Respect!
Man I was impressed with with your wood working skills with that hammer and chisel. You thinking about hanging up the torch and grinder???? Becoming a wood worker??? Jk. Great job as always you truly have a gift. Keep up the good work
Slick method recessing the ends! Wood being expensive these days makes prolonging its life a wise move. I periodically apply waste oil to mine which soaks it up like a sponge adding years to deck life.
I had the chain hook on my excavator shift between planks and snagged that board edge guard, 2x2 angle vs excavator wasn't much of a match for the 0.01 seconds I saw what was going on, ripped it clean off the trailer. Installation took a little longer than removal
Yep, I peeled that piece of angle pulling large bales of alfalfa off my trailer. So bought another piece of angle a pinch larger and thicker, then used a router so I could recess the wood and have the top of the angle to the same top level at the board…….works fine and cured that problem
Fun to see a good, straightforward repair! This is the kind most folks could tackle with relatively basic tools, and it's fun to see it carried out by a professional. :)
Man, I gotta say I respect the way you “take things apart” you use just enough of whatever to get things separated and no more. Arc gouging down to that M-12 saw. Right amount of force for each cut. That is a sign of experience and wisdom. Pay attention people this guy is the real deal!
The whole repair is great and the way you laid out the light holes and cut them is easier than having the pattern for the light. Your skills with the plasma cutter or torch make it look easier than it is!
I myself really enjoyed the high speed hammer and chisel woodworking................sounded just like the needle scaler 😂. Looked like a factory stamped piece as always Issac.!
I love that Pihranha, what a machine... That was a surprise procedure on de-constructing and constructing. I had a diff approach and it would have been more steps.
Probably looking a lot worse than it actually is . Tear down looks like a lot of bits to cut an grind to reveal a simple repair . Quicker and easier to fabricate the rear plate that try to straighten that top edge back , way too stretched . A nice half hour video for us but i guess an afternoon's work for you . Really liking that press brake very delicately operated on the straightening of the back piece . Thanks for bringing us along as usual great video thanks
Isaac, you bet you have layed on gravel before, i would also bet you have layed on sand, rock, mud, water and grass ad you seem to be just a hard working guy who wants to just get it done and never complaines, good old blue collar hard working guy. Nice job by the way
Hey Isaac, another great repair!:) I'm rebuilding the support frame for my F350 dump body. The original frame railed and the front supports for the rams failed and crushed the back of the cab. Yikes! Someone attempted a repair but not a very good job. A little frame straightening, a lot of body work and reconstruction of the support frame. Lots of fun! Thanks for all the great tips!😊
It was waiting to happen with the lip there, really the deck wants to be a bit proud. Anyways design oversights like that make work for guys like you. Lovely patch job.
Ah yes, another touch of class. Like yer break. Back in 60s worked for a shop, the man built his break from a 36" X 72" X 1" piece plate, I beam n angle iron & two hyd cyls run by a small trk hoist piston pump. Thanks for sharing... 👍🇺🇸
I have trailers dropped off all the time in my driveway to be repaired, and my neighbor asked one of my clients the other day why he brings it to me. And his response was because I don't mind paying a little more to get it done right the first time. I've seen more work these days done by people who don't take pride in their work and are just looking for a quick buck. Makes me sick.
I keep full ( 4 x 8 ) sheets of plywood for working on rough or gravel areas...even if grass it makes it easier to keep track of parts/tools ..i also have foam pads i lay on...getting too old for hard surfaces...also helps when ground is wet or snow ( that weird white material we get farther North of You !! 😉 🇨🇦🤓🤙
Plywood sheets come in handy when working in Design Technology classrooms with rubber floors and you have to cut and reweld workbench frames. Ask me how I know? 😂 I had that as one of my jobs at work over the Christmas school holidays. Turned a curved bench into a straight one! Benchtop was 32 mm particleboard with 3 mm steel glued on top. Bought the Milwaukee 18v cordless metal saw and made up a straight edge for the full length of the bench. The cut then became the easiest part of the job. The saw also came in handy for breaking down the subframe sections to shorten and rework them. Mark from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
Isaac, Great job on the repair. After the paint went on it looked like nothing had happened to it. btw, the grey beard looks great. Showing off your wisdom as always.
20:45 I do a reverse beaver tail from the main frame to the outside of the trailer just like I do on the frame it self. I call it the double reverse beaver.. Sure prevents hang up when going off road with the trailer.
Dood, Great Example of "Just Enough" Press Break ... I was amazed you straightened it (the bar with the u and Cilinder) out in one go and no rebends (Bend it back)
I have been following issac for a long time and ive never seen this much grinding in a video, and ive never seen a cut off wheel. Awesome repair though, ive picked up more little tips and tricks from you than anyone on youtube
Wow, what an amazing job. Awesome work, you inspire me to do stuff like that, you do great work and I'm always trying to do things like that. Keep up the great work.
This is a fabulous job as always. I really enjoy following along with your process instructions. Your years of learning the basics shows in the finished project.
Lol something similar happened to me letting a contractor borrow my aluminum trailer to transport a forklift. When rolling it on and off it bent the f outta the 2 alum ramps. Made him hire a certified welder to repair it instead of replacing
If that trailer is primarily used for transporting shipping containers the customer should have had you make modifications so it's better suited for the job. Installing rollers on the back of the trailer would prevent damage like that. Edge guides or rollers also really help when loading containers. I have modified a few trailers for container hauling.
Once again Isaac nice job like your little tricks like your thought process and how you put it back together keep up the great videos always enjoy things I’ve always learned from him by the way you must be all those rags by now those red rags that came from New England Sam bacon
I have to cut out some pieces for that type of oval lights on my trailer. I’ll be using the method of layout, as well as, cutting used here. Thanks for your invaluable knowledge you share with us less knowledgeable, and receptive viewers.
Looks slick as always. That piranha made that job a lot easier. Great tool for the fab shop. Stitch welds are the best looking welds on that 10ga flat, but I thought you would run continuous up or downhill on the stake pocket for more penetration. I always enjoy watching.
Every time I watch your vids, I wanna switch careers from diesel tech to what you do. Seems more enjoyable and I don't have deal with electrical issues
Thanks for the video. It did not look too bad...I think we would have heated up the metal and beat it into submission! Yeah will not look as good as your extensive repair, but bot cost effective and saves time. I understand the video is on how to repair...thanks.
Could you do a video on like different weld settings for different thicknesses or metal and wire? Would be interesting to see how you set up a welder, your MIG always sounds and looks soo good.

Dead on work. But you're also a really good presenter of your work.

You free handed for the lights. AWESOME!
Slick method recessing the ends!

It's always a pleasure to watch you work, Isaac. I especially like the part where you invented the wood chisel.😉
Yep, I peeled that piece of angle pulling large bales of alfalfa off my trailer. So bought another piece of angle a pinch larger and thicker, then used a router so I could recess the wood and have the top of the angle to the same top level at the board…….works fine and cured that problem

Even painted the underside, where no one is going to look, the mark of true pro. Well done, Isaac!

Thank you Isaac . If this happens to my little trailer I will weld on a roller.😊
This is a fine example of what tools it takes. Lot of effort to deconstruct and repair that corner.
Wow. You made cutting those light holes out look easy .👍
Nice job 👍
You can weld on my wheel barrel anytime 😂
I see the Superintendent 🐕 is inspecting the job 👏🙌🏼. He works metal like a potter works clay, doesn’t he?
So you're a woodworker, too? :D You're a real renaissance man!

Another work of excellence out the door!
Nice job fixing the result of a design flaw in the trailer!
Rookie mistakes keep welders and fabricators fed.gotta love it!

Be safe out there Isaac!

AWSOME job. You always make it look easy. But you do top quality work
Surprised to see a cut-off wheel and a Sawzall since normally you can cut the steel out with a torch and leave the paint. Awesome job as usual.
I think Isaac wanted a clean square cut and the cut off wheel can do that. Especially in Isaac's hands.
@BlackPill-pu4vi I didn't mean it seriously. Had you read my whole statement, you'd see that I was saying how skilled the man is.
@@donmunro144 Fair enough.
Thanks again Isaac ,can't wait for the next one .
as a flatbed truck driver it looks good. I tell drivers when the rub rail gets ripped up get it fixed with a quality welder.

@@raulrubio2862 🤣 I'm in Ventura county.
Using the angle grinder for woodworking made my day. It worked, of course, but that was a first for me. :-) Love the video, keep up the great work!
BFH metal working hammer, every shop needs one! Nice work as always!
I always tell my friends M12 tools are under rated when using them commercially. I use the same sawzall 😅
Me too, and my battery pops out just like that too!!
I always enjoy watching your work. Thank you very much.

Isaac, Great job on the repair. After the paint went on it looked like nothing had happened to it.

Didn't know we were going to have a wood working session today! Multi-talented! Got another use for a coal chisel as well! 😄😄🥰

You are a weld master sir. Great job
I know nothing about welding, but I enjoy your channel a lot. That was pretty impressive man. Have a good day and stay safe.
Always great work! I always look forward to the next video! Thanks for sharing your talents
Another job well done Issac. Thanks for sharing. Best Wishes to You and Your Family.

You can flip the blade on that sawzall so you dont have to hold it awkwardly. Great work as usual sir.
EPIC repair!!! Thanks Isaac!
Good as new if not better, nice job .
I have got to get me a plasma cutter, thats a useful bit of kit.
Not as heavy a job as we usually expect, but very complex and interesting. Plus, learned a trick or two. Great job as always, enjoyed watching.
Good stuff. As always.
I have been following issac for a long time and ive never seen this much grinding in a video, and ive never seen a cut off wheel. Awesome repair though, ive picked up more little tips and tricks from you than anyone on youtube

Yep, turned out really good. Nice job. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Very nice tidy job that young man!
Isaac...... using a sawzall & a grinder cutting disc-? BLASPHEMY!! 😂😂 Where's the torch & arc gouging-
Nice repair!

Wow, what an amazing job. Awesome work, you inspire me to do stuff like that, you do great work and I'm always trying to do things like that. Keep up the great work.
You're really good at what you do I love watching your work I wished I lived close to you I'd come help you just for fun and to learn
