I used to work in a record store in Venice, at the time these records were released. thanks to a legal loophole, they were considered legitimate releases here in Italy (well, sort of...), so much they even sported a SIAE sticker on the cover. both the Swingin' Pig and The Yellow Dog discs were pretty good sellers, and I especially remember stocking the window of the store with the wonderful Ultra Rare Trax albums on colored vinyl. being a Beatles collector myself, Iwas lucky enough to be in the right place, at the right time: I still have all these records, mostly in mint/unplayed condition...
Hi Aubot, It was certainly a great time around then with the ultra rare Trax albums and CDs , they were everywhere, EMI must have been pulling there hair out! I suppose bootleg laws are a little more lax in some parts of Europe essentially n Italy! What a lovely place to work in your very lucky , I expect great times for you ! Thanks for watching, stay well!
Hi, Dave. First off, thanks for the shout out. This collection of boot CDs are amazing. Very interesting, boots, you can find music or otherwise that was never released. For boots I found this collection to be in very good quality, the print, the pics, outside & inside cover and CD labels, very nice. I have 14 boots all on vinyl, none on CD. One has the 64 Hollywood Bowl concert in it's entirely. Cheers.
Hi G, No worries my friend! Always great to collect Boots , although the first few vinyl editions I found were pretty terrible! I remember seeing some of yours when you’ve sent me some pictures , be great if you could play them at some point mate! Thanks for watching! Love to Pam!
Excellent collection, Dave! I have most of those in mine as well. Those Yellow Dogs issues were invaluable back when they came out, and I still listen to the Unsurpassed set often. Vigotone also put out a lot of really great quality boots. It's too bad Apple doesn't take some of these ideas for projects. Thanks for another enjoyable video.
Hi, Glad you enjoyed! Yeh Yellow Dog we’re really giving fans sone wonderful stuff although it did dry up somewhat. Vigotone pretty much carried on the good work with definitely improved sound quality! Thanks for watching! Stay well!

Hello again Dave and thanks for the shout-out👍 Ahhh those are fun discs to have ! I have a few myself and when I’m in the mood and I play some I’m surprised at how good the sound quality can sometimes be 👍 I’m waiting for a new marantz disc player so I’ll be going through a lot of these great bootlegs with hopefully better sound than my old 80s Sony which finally died. So great timing with this video ! Hope you’re well and enjoying spring my friend ! All the best !
Hi Nick, I’m sure I left you a comment but seems to have disappeared! Bootlegs are generally all great these days thankfully but can get a bit expensive! Sounds like you’ll have plenty of listening with your new player! Sony are pretty reliable then and that proves it! Always glad to see the spring! Happy Easter mate! Stay well!
Great to have you back, Dave! And with another CD related video 👍👍 Hope you get well soon! 💪. I haven’t seen or learned about any singles or promo CDs for the anniversary releases, do you think they are done with them or they are out there and with time we will learn about them? Finally, are you planning to do a CD single releases? That would be much appreciated! Thanks for all your work and all the best.
Hi Percy, Thanks my friend, I’ll get there I’m sure! No I think you’re right , I haven’t seen any promos either for any of the anniversary releases, I’m guessing they’ve finished with those great exclusive ones that would be issued! I haven’t planned anything aa regards to Beatles ones in the last 30 years as there’s only 4 or 5, but I may be able to cone up with something. Hi, Glad you enjoyed! Ahh absolutely hear you there , it’s a mind blowing scenario but if you know the best ones to grab, then i think it can be rewarding. Thanks for watching, stay well!
A great selection Dave. I’ve got some of those Yellow Dog CDs and they are really good quality. Another collection on the Walrus Label are the double CD Alternative series. Although I haven’t bought many bootlegs for years, I stumped up the cash for A Collection Of Beatles Oldies which is poor, and the unreleased Sessions album which is pretty good, although there is more than one version available. I’ve also got a double Anthology Plus CD which rounds up tracks missing from the official CDs, and a few more in my collection which I used to buy from record fairs and market stalls here in the East Midlands. A great video as ever, cheers.
Hi Andrew, Glad you enjoyed them! Definitely a minefield of knowing the best ones to get, wasn’t always an easy task years ago as it was generally word of mouth but luckily with a bit of research, you can find reviews which is the easy bit before trying to find them! Also they can be expensive dealer to dealer and sometimes shopping around isn’t an option! All part of the crazy bootleg world thou! Stay well my friend!

The Think For Yourself sessions are a must have...and I used to have it, until one day it just stopped playing. I haven't been able to find it since.
Hi Farrell, Might be a bit of a harder one to find then , that’s a ridiculous amount of shipping for a CD! Oh yeh love that session with the guys hamming it up! Thanks for watching!
@@beatledavesbeatleschannel I go to a record show every other month (it alternates months with another show) and there's another one coming up soon. Some dealer sells a BOAT LOAD of Unsurpassed Masters for only 10 bucks a piece, and I've gone up and down that rack at his table looking for #7. I know it's a great disc, but I keep wondering "why is that one so special"? When it looked like Rubber Soul was being redone this year, I was dreaming of the Think For Yourself sessions finally being released, but I doubt it would've been intact. Too bad Unsurpassed Masters doesn't have its own online shop like Amazon😅😅😅😅😅😅
Hi Scott, Thank you my friend! Glad you liked them, I had many more years ago but did get rid of ones that were not that great and duplicated many of the tracks in a lesser quality! Thanks for watching!
Loved the video, and I'm gonna add my two pence worth, and fill in some gaps. I have ALL the Unsurpassed Masters C.D.s, but not Unsurpassed Demos. That one looks like a treat. Interesting story about Acetates, though. Yellow Dog released TWO different versions, and, yes, I have both. One of the Acetates C.D.s is a TWO DISC SET. The first disc is basically the same is the disc you displayed BUT WITH EXTRA ADDED TRACKS. (Waltzing Matilda, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, TWO versions of Blue Jay Way, Flying, and yes, it's the long version, What's The New Mary Jane, and ends with some spoken pieces with Kenny Everett which goes on for about 12 minutes) The second disc are songs from A Hard Days Night, Help, and Get Back/Let It Be, which have been already released, but good to have on one disc. I don't have any Ultra Rare Trax , but Unsurpassed Masters is basically just Yellow Dog's version of that set anyway, from what I've been told, so I don't feel that I'm missing out on anything. Let me know if I'm wrong about this. I actually have Volume One of The Playing Beatles. It's actually OK, but it seems like Volume Two is the better of the two. (Which I DON'T have, but I'm gonna hunt down a copy) My problems with Volume One is that, while the sound quality is quite good, there's this annoying narration in between songs. It's as if the people who put this out were trying to put out a concert version of The Beatles' Story, plus they don't list where the performances of the songs took place, so it's not really cohesive as a "Concert" album per se. The performances are good, as I've already stated, but the narration is annoying, so that sort of spoils it for me. And, in case you're wondering, or interested, Volume One came with a deck of playing cards. Nothing really spectacular about them, as it is a standard 54 card deck, but it has a picture of the front cover of the album on the back of each card. I think the board game that comes with Volume two might be more interesting, and fun to play, but, of course one should scoff at a good game of Crazy 8s, either. I have excellent recordings of the Budokon concert and both sets of the Houston show. The Japan concert is on disc one of a four disc box set called The Ultimate Collection Volume Two, and is very good quality. (I have all three box sets, but I won't go into detail about it now. All three box sets are also Yellow Dog releases) The Sam Houston Colosseum concerts appear on Ultimate Concerts Volume One, also on Yellow Dog. (I've never seen a Volume Two, and wonder if one ever got released. I'd love to hear it, and get one if it ever was released) I still get a kick out of hearing the sheriff have a meltdown as he tries to tell the audience to stay in their seats and be quiet, or else The Beatles won't play. (Yeah, right. Like he wants to be responsible for a riot!) So in closing, great informative video. Yellow Dog, and Vigitone were most definitely the go to labels for good quality Beatlegs back in the day. Look forward to your next Beatleg tutorial. Look after yourself. Cheers.
Hi, Ahh wasn’t aware of a 2 CD version of acetates , sounds intriguing so hopefully I’ll be able to find one of those on my travel’s! I’ve got the full Kenny Everett which was recorded in 68 at the beginning of the white album sessions if that’s the same. The unsurpassed series was the reason why I parted with my Ultra Rare Trax CDs but kept the vinyl editions and you definitely haven’t missed anything. I’ll look out for box 1 but that voice over stuff does get irritating! Yes those ultimate collection box sets have always intrigued me and I’m definitely interested in picking those up should I see them again. Like you say both Yellow Dog and Vigitone were definitely the leaders in the race of unreleased stuff, although I’ve seen a lot from the HMC label and they seem to be a very good well made lot of bootlegs! Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed!
Hey there Beatle Dave, somebody we know said you'd done 'done' a new video; cool man 😎 cool. We cranked up the Internet out here ,on the farm,& hey, they was right. Awesome boots my friend- that last one with the fold out game- sweet, creative, complete with the dice to play along with the game. Ya now, funny; you'd think we'd have a few more CD boots, from the time period,as discs were exploding ' round here. Have a few, but Dave, most are Asian- good audio though, less one. Also, gots' the ' Hey Jude album,on CD boot, from Russia,or USSR former nation during those yr.s, not exactly sure, but it's awesome,as has demo versions following the lp.trax. And, hey,Dave ,we really appreciate the 'shout out'!! So good to be connected to the Best Beatles channel,we say,& have told couple new neighbors. Don't work too hard, if ya don't have to. Oh man, least we forget those really nice CD.rom.s. Reckon not many them around. Later channel host, H Jr.& clan
Hi Hayward, Hope your well my friend! Yep managed to get it together after some health issues sone ongoing, but all should be well! So many great Boots around these days and they have definitely improved massively since those early days of the 70’s & 80’s! Yes there’s lots of those Asian and European made copies floating about but they certainly serve a purpose! Welcome for the shout out and really appreciate the praise my friend, just need to keep the channel trucking at a steady pace. Thanks for watching my friend, stay well!
Great collection Dave. I've only got the Get Back bootleg. I was never one for buying them. However I did but the Complete BBC Recordings 9 CD boxed set which is of varying sound quality. Cheers mate 👍
Hi Peter, Glad you enjoyed them! I’ve sold quite a few off over the years, including some vinyl boots too, still got quite a few left. That BBC CD box is certainly a nice presentation and was also available on vinyl too as I recall. A lot of great boots out there these days! Stay well!
Hey Dave! Thanks for the shoutout! I needed that after falling getting off the bus at a transit center, on my way home. Missed the curb stepping off the bus.
@@beatledavesbeatleschannel as of my last hospital stay, I’m now basically considered a “fall risk”. But, this one was simply missing the curb. I’m going to be on the lookout for the cd.
Well, look who it is :). Hi mate how are you getting a long!! I sure do like collecting boots:) and I do have a bunch just like you do as well!!! Alot of people don't like Boots in the VC but I still like to show them :). Ok off you go!!! Ok the first one I have not see before lol but I do think I am good without that one!!!! And the others all are great ones to have:) And great sounding too a lot of them :)!! The last one I don't have but I am sure I do have all of it on some other CD's that are live:)!!! I’m sure your bootleg collection will be more comprehensive than mine but I’m very happy with the ones I got ! Thanks for your support mate and I’ll get back to watching some YT videos soon, gotta lot to catch up with! Stay well!
If you get the chance :). Keep me posted on it all if that is ok mate!!!! But no, your Beatles CD's are just great and yes lol I do love them!!! Take care and hang in there my friend cheers mate!!!!!!
Hi Dave great video. I have a pretty good collection of Beatles boots myself. I love the Secret Garden Back To Basics Sessions which I think are really comprehensive. Also Purple Chicks Live recordings and BBC recordings are really extensive sets. Not forgetting the A/B Road complete Get Back sessions 83 CD disc set. I wonder if you are familiar with any of these boots?
Hi Bob, Glad you enjoyed! The only title I’m not familiar with there is the Secret Garden back to basics sessions , they does sound interesting, so I’ll check that one out. I’ve been looking for A/B Rd although I do have the 30 Days set which cuts a lot of dialogue out although I find that just as intriguing to listen too! Thanks for watching!
@@beatledavesbeatleschannel Hi Dave yes I got the 30 day set too before I found the A/B Road set. The 30 day set is a good set too but I just wanted everything. It took me months on my driving commute to get through all 83 CDs . I must admit I was going a bit nuts after hearing what seemed like a 100 takes of Maxwells Silver Hammer 😂
lol , I can imagine it can be hard going with Maxwell, I can certainly sympathise with John , George & Ringo there! I’ll have to track one down thou at some point !

Cheers.
I made a typo. It should've said one SHOULDN'T scoff at a good game of Crazy 8s.
Hi,
Ahh wasn’t aware of a 2 CD version of acetates , sounds intriguing so hopefully I’ll be able to find one of those on my travel’s!
Always great to see you back in action, BeatleDave!
Hi Mathew,
Thanks my friend, appreciate that!
Stay well!
Later channel host, H
Jr.& clan
Hi Hayward,
Hope your well my friend!
Another great video Dave - and thanks for the shout out - nearly spilt my tea ! 😂
Hi Gav,
Thanks my friend glad you enjoyed!
lol , I don’t think I’ve ever nearly caused that from a shout out!
Stay well!
Great collection Dave. I've only got the Get Back bootleg. I was never one for buying them. However I did but the Complete BBC Recordings 9 CD boxed set which is of varying sound quality. Cheers mate 👍
Hi Peter,
Glad you enjoyed them!
I’ve sold quite a few off over the years, including some vinyl boots too, still got quite a few left.
That BBC CD box is certainly a nice presentation and was also available on vinyl too as I recall.
A lot of great boots out there these days!
Stay well!
@@beatledavesbeatleschannel yeah the box cover & booklet design of the BBC set were similar to the "Complete Stax/Volt Singles Vol. 1".
@@peterx1957
Is that the set with the black Rickenbacker on the front of the box? That’s the one I seen to recall.
@@beatledavesbeatleschannel yes it is.
Great show as usual Dave Cheers 😂😊😂
Hi Richard,
Thanks my friend, glad you enjoyed!
Hey Dave! Thanks for the shoutout! I needed that after falling getting off the bus at a transit center, on my way home. Missed the curb stepping off the bus.
Good to know there’s a bootleg cd of the Sam Houston Colosseum shows, and that the sound is greater than the original vinyl bootleg.
Hey George,
No problem my friend!
You sound as accident prone as my my friend, lol !
Mind how you go !
Ahh yes , very good sounding mono this concert and definitely improved over previous versions.
I believe it’s on the you tube!
Stay well!
@@beatledavesbeatleschannel as of my last hospital stay, I’m now basically considered a “fall risk”. But, this one was simply missing the curb. I’m going to be on the lookout for the cd.
You take care now my friend!
But WOW is it good to see you mate how are you feeling I hope all is well and great video as all ways cheers mate and great to see you :)!!!!!!!
Hey mate,
Yes back for now , had another medical issue recently which is being investigated but all should be fine , waiting for a couple of scans within next few weeks.
Yeh gotta love the boots , each to their own I guess but it’s definitely an important part of collecting any artist, especially like the fabs!
@@beatlebrad5339
I certainly will, I’ll send you a text at some point my friend!
Hi Bob,
Glad you enjoyed!
Hi my friend
Dave can you tell me on the Beatles iTunes Rare LP the tomorrow never knows is it the rare version dave.
Hi Dave,
No it’s not the Remix 11 version but that is obviously on the deluxe set of Revolver.
Stay well!

"(1) Octopussy's Garden" HUH?? how'd they get THAT wrong?
Hi Alonso,
Ahh yes forget to mention that , luckily we can forgive these illiterate bootleggers because of the great material, but not always!
Stay well!
