Mk 2, mk5, and mk7 is basically the best stop points for every lens generation. Mk1, MK3 and mk6 would be the best budget to performance ratio still tho. I can find like new RX100 go for $150 lately. Got my MK3 for 175 with some defects. (none of which affect the screen, VF, and sensor/lens, IMO I still can use it well~)
Hello, I've been watching your channel for a while now and like how in-depth your reviews are.I have owned the RX100 VI for a year now and recently purchased the RX100 VII which I sent back the next day after shooting. In my humble opinion the stills with the VI are much better than the VII.I went out shooting for a day with both cameras with same settings and when I reviewed the raw files the VI images appeared to have much better dynamic range and much less noise than the VII.I also noticed a slight green tint to the images shot on the VII despite varying light conditions. I really wanted to like this camera but was super disappointed with image quality on the VII.
I've checked them in DPReview image tool and the result seems to align with what you said. At the same ISO, the Mark VII looks a bit greenish compared with the Mark VI, with more color noise. Thanks for providing such detailed experience! It's crucial to my purchase decision~
Hi I wonder how is the quality of the lens in vii. Is it good, acceptable or weak? And does the camera work for street photography and as the second camera for nature and architecture as well?
Open box excellent 750 for the mark 6 should I go for it? Low light vlogging is what I want it for but the gx7 iii doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies with the AF problems
hi there i know this video is long ago and idk if you would reply to this comment but how is the noise and AF performance for stills? i get that video AF is better on the mark 7 but for stills are the difference substantial?
love your comment between shooting animal and 'human' (2.35) ... but as a beginner in shooting, and wanted to buy a second hand machine (and I really like Sony 'shenitz' u know what I mean... or not...), but loved ur m6 review.
It’s late 2019, I found a good condition RX100 m6 for $400. I’m torn between it and the g7xm2 for $300. Am I’m dumb to not go for the Sony? Is not having an ND filter enough to choose the canon? Thanks
Just grabbed the 7 for $910.00 (USA ) open box & just sayin ...but 👉🏽Worst thing about the mark 7 is at some point Sony will prolly release a Mark 8 with new features and the 7 becomes outdated. 😱😁
maybe its stacked, it just means the sensor itself is designed better, like a back illuminated sensor or a stacked sensor, allowing better image readout and better low light performance.

Just to clarify, eye autofocus works on animals only for stills.
Or get the Mark VA if you do not need the long zoom, it has a much faster lens. It also is much cheaper.

The color science has been updated but I'm not sure what else could have caused those results. Good news is that you still have the VI.

Dude, i love your videos, thank you for this one. Got sny opinions on those ND adapters for the RX100 series?
These cameras are still commanding high prices--esp the mark vi vs the vii. It's like the used car market I guess.
im still using my rx100 mk2.
how do you like the pics it takes?
Thanx bro :) was hope'n you was gonna cover the mk VII :)
Helped me alot, thanks man!
M7 has Mic, sold.
the burst mode seems to have decreased? 24fps on the 6 vs 20fps on the 7...one could create 9secs 5K videos on the 6 from those 24fps jpegs....
Just picked up the V1 for $800 Australian
Near-perfect travel camera

What’s the best high speed option? Shooting golf swings
great video..straight to the point
Thank you!!
Any suggestions on mk7 vs ZV1? I want to get my wife a nice camera but I don’t know which one to buy?
Hello Sir, could you tell me if is worth buying mark 7 right now or is it better to wait for the new model ?

Is there any difference if you are only taking photos?

What did you choose in the end? The ND filter is very useful in strong light condition depending on the type of photography you do.
Does it have Bluetooth?
To work withRMT-P1BT remote
Either one

Saw the mark 6 for $850 new.
how does the VI compare in stills against an iphone 11 ? which takes best pictures?
No comparison, not even close, iPhone are very cheap camera quality.
We’re all animals 🤣
Sony RX100 M5 is still the best !
LATER 😜
Mark VA is better, it has the same processor as Mark VI.
How can the MK7 have an improved sensor when they both have a 1" sensor? Whats the difference?
maybe its stacked, it just means the sensor itself is designed better, like a back illuminated sensor or a stacked sensor, allowing better image readout and better low light performance.
