Blue Mountain Glory - RBMN 2102 + 425 Iron Horse Ramble Doubleheader

- August 13, 2022 was a day that will go down in rail preservation history as for the first time since 1988, the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad would run both of their steam locomotives, 425 and Reading T-1 2102 on a steam excursion as a doubleheader for one of the iron horse rambles to mark the birthday of the railroad's owner, Andy Muller.
If that were not enough of a cherry on top, both locomotives would carry the famous "God's Whistle" Reading 6 Chime whistle, bringing back sounds perhaps not heard since the days of the original reading rambles at the end of steam in the 50s and 60s.
Included in this video as well are scenes of the railroads F units working the lehigh gorge train.
So sit back, relax and enjoy the sights, and of course the sounds of Blue Mountain Glory!

27:33, car 308. I'm the guy out the window, waving!!! My mom was sitting next to me, and we had an amazing day, the same way we rode behind her the last time in 1991. This was truly an amazing experience and I cannot thank everyone involved enough. You guys do an amazing job of recording everything, it was fabulous to watch it again!
❤ ❤
Hearing 425 and 2102 tear out of Port Clinton is freaking magical, like that must've been so unbelievably loud it's not even funny. Great shots!
7:02 "It's showtime, let's make it happen."
The CHILLS I got 👏👏👏
This was an amazing experience. I enjoyed every single second of this trip. Riding behind the Iron Horse Rambles 2022
I was so blown away by the show these two Ladies put on! The most exciting trip i have ever taken!
Fantastic 😉👍️✨ Amazing video 😃⤴️⤴️ Thank you for sharing :)
thanks!
Looking at these two side-by-side it’s just like looking at the union pacific Big four together before two of them departed for Silvis. Still they’ll probably be together again one day.
Awesome video. At 10:05 I was by the gate but the shops
nice. I almost didn't stop in port Clinton, I wanted to keep going to Hecla but I saw I was ahead of the train after mohrsville from the highway so I took a chance. I think Hecla for this shot was a fair trade off.
@@14thStreetProductions I think port Clinton was a great shot in my opinion because of the echo and it chugging out
AWESOME
Great video. I was there in PN our thumbnails look almost identical lol.
Thanks, indeed they do considering everyone who was there was bunched up all together I'm not surprised lol.
When I took the shot I knew what the thumbnail was going to be just had to run it through gimp.
@@14thStreetProductions sorry for the late reply. But I’ll be out Nov 5 for 425 due to the 1472/Rebuild coming up.
Good luck 👍
Great Footage!
Thanks!
there's nothing more than the sound of a bell DING DING DING DING DING DING the sound of steam. HHHHHHIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the sound of the train chugging, CHUF! CHUF! CHUF! CHUF! CHUF! and the sound of coaches CLICKETY CLACK! CLICKETY CLACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😊
I cry
Now that i look at reading 2102 and 2100 I do appreciate. What there doing to Preserve steam engines.. Not many steam engines run. But the one's that do i appreciate. The most. Little fun fact steam engines are the back bone. To the united states.. I like seeing steam engines and the raw power they have. I like the video keep the good work up.
My papaw used to work the Frisco line. He died of dementia sadly!
BlueMountain Glory huh. Sounds just like the blue Mountain quarry from blue Mountain mystery. Still 2102 one 425 are a good pair Side-by-side and double heading
The name Queen of Steam was given from Roanoke and Northern for a reason. LONG LIVE THE 611!
You mean Nofolk Southern Steam Program
Its so hard to hear their whistles because of the loud and mighty puffing coming from the locomotives
Oh yes, they are deafening! It is truly an assault on all of your senses, and it is just completely amazing
Can 2124 be moved to Spencer North Carolina for restoration in the Spencer shops at the no transportaiton museum
Please move 2102 to the western Maryland
I have a quick question: What time do the engines leave the shop in the morning?
Depends. Usually they leave between 7-7:30 AM
@@14thStreetProductions ok, thanks so much!
425 man
Wait a minute does 2102 have 2 whistles mounted at the same time?
yes it does. theres a dual mount behind the steam dome with the hooter on the drivers side and the reading 6 on the firemans side
@@14thStreetProductions wow i didn’t know that, pretty cool! is that an N&W hooter by any chance?
@@neilbhalodi8797
Reading Hooter
@@neilbhalodi8797nope it’s a reading hooter commonly used on the T1s in revenue service
