- I did a walk through 2 years back, but just anted to do anther walk around to show how we homestead a single acre. Plus I got a fancy new Samsung S10 Plus and wanted to play around with the camera!
We made the long drive once again to our new homestead property to check out our new driveway, and get our well drilled! We had a little fun too!

About us: We are a family of 6 relocating from our 1 acre permaculture homestead to our new 20 acre piece of raw land in North Idaho. We grow our own food, raise our own meat, homeschool, and our building our new homestead from the ground up debt free!! - Развлечения
Impressive that this is all done on 1 acre. My wife and I have looking at property to buy, and many of the lots are 1-1.5 acres. This video helped me realize what will fit!
Awesome, so glad!!
Hi Blue Maximus, we'd love for you to check properties. You can visit our website at www.landelevated.com and our channel to learn more. Just if you're interested, we have up to 40 acres of vacant land. Thanks! :)
I just bought an expensive acre in Tennessee...more than enough to live with a family. Lots of room. Buying more is nice but mostly for hunting.
@rickypickles2219 my ideal is around 1-10 acres with a large pond or tiny lake.
Certainly the cleanest and best organized homestead I have seen. Huge, huge potential there.
This is a great use of space. I love the designated areas. Everything is so neat and tidy. That is a lot of food production on just a mere ACRE! People with five or ten acres think that they don’t have enough room and yet here you are creating this cornucopia of plenty on just ONE!
Love love your land. BTE is my fav. Your landscape is so clean and manicured and organized. SO many I see is so jumbled together. Well kept. Can't wait to see what you will do with your 20 acres
Thank you!!
You have the most aesthetically pleasing homestead I've seen. I'd be proud of the place even if it didn't have animals, etc.. It feels spacious and easy to move about. I know I'm going on, but it should be in a magazine. Mother Earth or Grit, or another one would be great to have full color pictures and a diagram of the layout. Only thing I'd add would be a pavilion with outdoor cooking space to entertain or process food in the shade. Please keep sharing. It's inspiring to see a productive place with a neat, upscale look.
Thank you so much, what a lovely compliment! We do like order and neatness. The outdoor cooking space sounds like a dream! We are in the process of building a new homestead on 20 acres, and an outdoor processing area, and an outdoor cooking/pizza/bread oven are all in our plans!
@@GoodSimpleLivingIf you put in a sink and stove you could do your canning and scalding, too. I'm always on the lookout for used commercial stainless sinks and counters. It would be nice to have something that you can sanitize and use for anything from crafts to laundry to homesteading (like potting plants) and entertaining a crowd outdoors comfortably. If your next homestead is half as nice as this one, you'll be doing well.
@@mcallaghan7681 I really want to can outside!! Thank you again!
You have a little slice of heaven on earth. Congratulations on living your dream...it’s beautiful!!!
Thank you!
Great setup. Debt free is the new, american dream. I can't homeschool my kids though. I'm looking forward to some quiet time next Monday when they go back to school
You don't have to homeschool to become debt free, in fact it may be easier not to since you would then be able to work. It was just a personal choice for us to homeschool.
Thank you for sharing. It looks like 1 acre would be enough for me and my family. May God continue to bless your efforts.
Thank you so much!!
A family of 4 can actually be completely self sufficient for food and energy on 2 acres, so it's not surprising how much they've been able to do with 1. Plan well and tend your land, and it will give back much more.
I was wondering why you need either the 5 acres behind you, or the 20 in Idaho to feel fulfilled? Your acre there is better than both! Tks for the share.
There is a lot more to our dream than just growing a garden. We want freedom to live as we please in a place where our kids can stay and build. On our 20 acres in ID they can build their own houses if they want. There we can build something to leave to our kids and grandkids, here we can't.
Wow i was wondering what one acre looks like visually , i know the numbers but i just couldnt picture it . your homestead is beautiful and i love the secret area where people cant see the animals . this is the perfect design so neat and clean and very pleasing on the eyes. Thanks for sharing your space👍 you gave me some great ideas for my future homestead.
Awesome, so glad. Yeah if you have a purpose and place for everything then it really is a lot of space. As you can see we still have a lot of space left. We keep it this way so we can tractor raise animals, but you could put up a large green house, and grow about 10 times the veggies we do.
Im currently looking for as close to two acres as possible in NC , from what i see on your land i definitely would have alot of options including a large greenhouse. As soon as i seen your property i was thinking this is how i want my space to look , you have everything very well put together. Please do a tour or walk through when your garde is in full bloom 👍
@@tamaracross9 I will do an update :) I did one 2 summers ago, but it needs an update
Your homestead is gorgeous and inspiring. God bless!
Thank you! God bless!
Wow, that was an awesome space. Love the new LARGER homestead but you all did a great job with the micro farm.
We bought one acre and put a home on it a year ago. I'm now researching homesteading possibilities for our property. I wasn't sure if we had enough land but your video gave me hope that we do! Spending my winter reading and planning so we can get the ball moving for spring!
Yeah, you can do a lot in a small space! Go for it!
It's so pretty! What a good set of hard-working family members!
Thank you, we love it!
The background music at the end 🥰 raising them right!! Beautiful little homestead
Thank you so much!!
So funny, I didn't even notice her singing that song, lol she's always singing!🥰
You have done an amazing job with one acre. Blessings to you and your new journey.
Thank you so very much!!
Gorgeous! I love the way you guys seemed to keep 'aesthetics' in mind. You have the real FARM stuff (animals) behind a 'Natural' hedge so anything 'messy' is out of view and your LAWN BEDS look like they are APART of the lawn! Outstanding, the organization I see here! Chile, if I was your neighbor I'd be sitting in your backyard ALL THE TIME, seems so 'peaceful'! You'd be like, "Ms. Byrd, you need to go home now." lol
Bring the coffee and I'd sit with you!!
@@GoodSimpleLiving Sure Ya Right! Be blessed!
Wow. Thank you so much for showing your beautiful land. I'm looking to start my own homestead with my family for the first time and people kept telling me I needed way more to do this and more and I see now after all this time that I don't need that. I can now start over and look for 1 acre properties and not over 2. Thank you so much. Blessings.
Oh this brings me such joy! I’ve just found your channel and am watching video after video! So grateful for the wealth of wisdom you are sharing! 🥰
Aww thank you, welcome!
It's amazing what can be done on 1 acre, well done! At my previous home we lived in a small city, and I turned my side yard into an urban garden. Why cut grass when you can produce food?!? It was only approx. 30'x40' but using high intensity methods of planting, the yield in that small space was astronomical. We ended up sharing the majority of the harvest since I had no space to can/preserve beyond eating fresh and sharing with all of the neighbors. Having gardened on true acreage when I was growing up, my experience with the highly productive urban garden, I'm very excited for the 1.73 acres that I'm currently developing into a homestead! Most people think you need huge acres to be self sustainable, but that's simply not the case!
Great job. We grew as much as we vould in town on our 3/4 acre lot before we got the homestead. It was amazing how much we could still do in town
Amazing use of the space you have. 😍
This is amazing. We have ten acres ourselves but aren't really able to do this much because nearly the entire property is dense forest (which I'm not complaining about because it's beautiful), but I still grow my own chili peppers for powder, hot sauces, and other things because the quality is better than store bought and it's easy to breed your own varieties to match your own preference
Thanks for reminding me sometimes unanswered prayer is a blessing. Goes right with not getting upset about being late getting somewhere...one time I saw I would have been in a major pile up if I had been on time. Your place is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Oh yes, God works in mysterious ways.
I’m in love with your “secret area”! I have an acre and we’re just getting started!
Beautiful homestead! We have just over an acre and your homestead is very inspiring! We are in the desert, so it’s a little different, but I know homesteading can still be done! We have a very small garden and chickens so far. ❤️ thank you for sharing!
BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY!!
Niiiice. After seeing this I know how many acres I want so I will speak it into existence. I will be living on 5 acres in 2020 😊
There ya go, now make a plan, and start taking steps towards it!
Go ahead and tell God thank you. I pray you get your five acres.
Did you get your 5 acres?
@@debrasewell388 No but not giving up yet, almost there
Very nice! 1 acre looks huge! I have 2.5 acres, and yours seems just as big lol.
It's all fenced and open, perhaps that's why.
This is so cute! I love it.
I bet the new homeowners were happy with the work you put into this!
Your garden is so well groomed and beautiful!
Congrats on the 20 acre dream homestead.
Reminded me of my grandpa's homestead, a lot. Doing a good work there guys
Wow ! You folks and grow all the fruit you wish and outstanding garden and composting with wood chips . Just can’t wait to see your Idaho property and gardening and what not. Interesting to the outmost...Tks . A million
Awesome job!
Whoever buys this property from you will be so blessed 🥹
Same to my thoughts 😊
Very kind, lovely and affordable plan, thank you very much the channel"Good simple living". 🙏
Respect and support from India 😇
what a lovely homestead.
I love the design ❤
We also have a small homestead. Only 2 years old so still a baby homestead! Ours is a little less than an acre! Love this
Great work. God bless.
It’s so nice there but much nicer in Idaho! Back to Eden is awesome! And now your moving in, so awesome! God is Good!
"Praying About it" i Like it!!. Simply that was let THY will be Done. Give us this or something much more.
Wow this is one of the most amazing homesteads ive ever seen, my parents wanted to retire and start a homestead and ive been doing some research for them your video gave my some great ideas :)
Absolutely beautiful!!!
Fantastic use of space! 😍😍
Beautiful property! You guys did a great job with it!
Thank you very much, really appreciate that!
This is absolutely beautiful
Your property is beautiful!
i like your garden, so neat
Your organized Garden is really Beautiful...💓
Thank you, really appreciate that!
Really appreciate your vlog. Very inspiring for Rebekah and I as we’re newbies to the whole permaculture/ do what you can with what you have way of thinking. Awesome 😎 thank you!
I love that, so glad you enjoy the videos. Yes, start small with what you have, where you are. That is how we learned.... started with raised beds and 6 hens. Best of luck of your permaculture journey!!
OH my gosh!!!
A quick search for a "micro homestead" and this video popped up. I have been a subscriber for a while and truly enjoy your current massive project. This older video is a super resource for my family's 2 acre home/homestead
Awesome!!
Brilliant to see this now and see who you have grown as a family.
And also how relaxed you are now
What a journey it's been ❤️
@@GoodSimpleLiving a fantastic journey and it shows,if you believe ,you can achieve
It is good to see how much land that is. I think I would like 2 acres one day. You have a beautiful piece of property. The animals look well cared for.
Thank you! Yes, you can do a lot with smaller spaces.
Well done on praying first before doing!! God is always right and knows what you need best.
Amen
Beautiful 🤩
Such a cool video, thanks for the tour!
Beautiful 😍 ❤👍
Y'all have really become efficient with you land usage. Awesome acre!!!
stunningly beautiful, clean and organized! may you always have health and continue to share and teach! thank you for the inspirational video. Moving to a new homestead is a brave thing to do! Best wishes!
We are feeling pretty brave, and a bit overwhelmed, but it's the dream. Thank you so much!
Wow that all well ordered!
I've always heard the saying, "If you want to tell God a joke, tell him your plans".
Oh yes, He has changed our course many times, and always for our good
So true ❤️
Down here it's "man plans, God laughs"
Beautiful place. Looks bigger than an acre. Loved your kids hat! I have a half acre and have been trying to downsize some of the work. Taking out some fruit trees, removing some blueberries. One thing you might really like is thornless blackberries. Easy to grow and produce like crazy.
Oh man, you're taking out blueberries?! Those thornless blackberries sound great!
Good Simple Living yes, I tried them for a decade and never could get them to do well here because of soil ph. I’m on eastern side of Washington State. Blackberries and raspberries thrive along with all veggies. I do eat blueberries almost daily tho, love them. Thanks again
Lovely thank you
You are living my dream
I hope to be able to do what you are doing
Shalom from Ohio
Very nicely layed out!! I grew up in the mountains of PA on a farm but the east coast is just to cluttered with people these days so I'm buying 40 acres in Arizona and im gonna build a ranch thats totally off grid and just enjoy life. Ive been self employed my whole life ( Geologist and Mechanical Engineer) Arizona is the rock and gem capital of the world so its perfect for what we do for a living.
You got a lovely place there
Great video! Got a lot of ideas from your layout and methods -- thanks! Best wishes for your bigger homestead also!
Neat setup
Thanks for sharing, just inspirational faith in better days
Thank you.
Beautiful! This was so inspiring. :)
Thank you
Cool set up!!
I know I'm late but love this tour. I keep hearing about back to Eden. I love how neat and productive your place looks, I am going to check it out. New sub here...looking forward to hearing about your adventures in Idaho!
What an amazing way to maximize your land!
Beautiful
Beautiful property 💕
Thank you!
Wow I’m so grateful for this video! I’m a city girl but the older I get the further away I want to be. I would love to start a homestead or a hobby farm! I was worried about land availability and how much I could afford and would it be big enough! Again thank you for showing me that I can do it! You inspired me!
Nice clean and organize homestead amaizing, keep up the good work.
Thank you so much!
Stunning! Inspirational! Faith!
Thank you!
Beautiful video. Your place is so neat.
Thank you!
Dope home
Thank you for sharing it 💯
lol this is great. The back to eden gardening is what led me here, and ironically you've even mentioned it. I noticed your woodchips, and then BAM you said it. wonderful! the creator is good.
Indeed He is.
The wife and I just bought a cabin home with one acre and the acre is wide open so we are so excited to get started homesteading! We close in August.
Nice job beautiful place best wishes to you and yours
Thank you!
Hi new subbie! I’m so impressed and inspired ❣️ shows we don’t need much to produce what we need. Rabbit poop makes for good and ready fertilizer . So does chicken poop but it has to dry out for awhile. I will learn so much, thanks 😊
As a newbie, this is very inspiring. I will check out back to eden. Thank you.
This is awesome!
thanks for sharing Back to Eden! newspaper, compost, wood chips/branch bits/needles
Just came across your channel and love this video. We have 1/2 acre right now, hoping to buy the vacant lot next to us so we'd have a full acre. My husband is a landscaper, so we're big on making our homestead esthetically pleasing while still being very productive. With the exception of wanting to also add bees, your homestead sounds almost identical to what we're working on (the chickens, rabbits, even God's plans trumping our own)!
Awesome !
Cool garden it's always good, to add peat moss before planting & mulch during the growing season. The growth is from grass clippings, etc... and woodbark. This all keeps the ground enriched, soil matters.
You don't need 80 acer too grow, meaning it's amazing how much you can grow on 1'acer of land with a single house. Do you sell your vegetables and fruits?
We practice BTE gardening, lots of layers of live material, yes, soil matters!
Yes, we sell in a small CSA model, where we sell locally by the basket.
Great video, thank you for sharing. New subscriber from Australia. I look forward to seeing your veggies growing 😀💕
OMG Tom its beautifull
Your baby singing the National Anthem in the background!!! 😍
Love it
Your place is absolutely dialed. Back garden is amazing. Glad you didn’t get that parcel next door, that intersection is insane. Be safe, looking forward to Idaho updates😀
Thank you! Yes funny how that turned into such a blessing!
I agree on the road, I'm over it
Gorgeous layout.....so well tended....guess I got blindsided by a very special, special needs chick around the time you did this video....and missed it....can't wait to see how you are doing in Idaho.....YHVH bless!!!!
Thank you so very much!! God bless!
Hello I'm a new subscriber and follower to your channel. Wow I'm so impressed with your landscaping and how beautiful it all looks Shows y'all spend a lot of time and care in your homestead. Great job. Look forward to seeing more videos. Thanks. George from Louisiana.
Thank you!
I love your house, and your setup so much!
Thank you!
You guys have given me a lot of good ideas for starting my future little homestead!
Awesome, so glad!
