  • Ariel has been homesteading and living off-grid in a 24'x8' tiny house for 6 years! She grows, forages and preserves as much of her own food as possible, she cuts her own fire wood, carries her own water, generates electricity with solar, and cooks with propane. She is a passionate backpacker and wildlife photographer who works part-time on a ranch in exchange for a place to park her small home, and she also works a variety of jobs to earn money, although her expenses are very low since she isn't paying rent, and since she managed to pay off the tiny house several years ago.
You can follow Ariel and her self-sufficient off-grid homesteading adventures on the Fy Nyth blog and RUclips channel here:

yep but you still have to get everything up to permit - not cheap! You have a septic system? Can't permit a composting toilet easily. When I went to the most traditional Berber village in Morocco - they lived off humanure compost for thousands of years - to grow their wheat and veggies in the desert.

I'm sure she's a nice lady. I just don't see the point in watching the vid for the 40% of the population making $15 an hour or less. We can't afford fancy building permits for septic systems, etc. A real off grid living? I lived in a cabin just south of Denali Alaska - with bear tracks all over outside - and moose - we had to knock down the frozen mountain of crap in the outhouse (that was freezing of course). I'm just saying - ... you can't build like that even now in Alaska! You need permits - too expensive! The Old Timers just threw up cabins with no insulation, etc. I'm talking 1980 by "old time" - not that long ago.

Actually, not so much respect but freedom. If you raise a dog without leashes, constraints from a young age, his natural inclination is to follow his pack. He gets as much exercise as he needs and wants throughout the day so no need to be excitable and hyper - unlike most dogs that are confined in a house. Her breed needs exercise to be as calm as it is, and she gives it all the freedom to walk when it wants, sleep when it wants. Hard to do when you have a full time job - which she does not have - or unlimited area for a dog to roam and explore - which most of us do not have. I know there are exceptions to this - some breeds are naturally super laid back - but I'm talking 'in general'. But I do know that country dogs without restrictions are the best you can have in terms of quiet demeanor and loyalty.

Love the fact that you're living your life on your own terms and in such a simplistic, yet creative way.
    Fantastic!

The moment I saw the first picture of the tiny house, my immediat thoughts were: yeah, Ariel! 😊
Good to see that she's fine!
I hope she will come back to her YT channel...

@@bklcheymaAriel has her other things like blogging, facebook I think and I do mean I think it had something to do with you tube and other issues about labeling the channels as adult only for kids etc.... so you may relax she is still here will all of her informational channel but on other stations. Glad to see your o our side. I trull wish with all my heart she would come back but I believe she is trully happy with what she has now. She's a beautiful heart & soul.

Bkl cheyma I thought if you published a video as child watchable, then you’re ok. I wonder why she can’t do this

I love her cozy home, she's organized and tidy... It isn't just a cabin stuck in in the middle of nowhere with uncut brush, dusty dirt and with wood / trash everywhere like some that I've seen. Again, her garden is organized and neat, great job!
