I definitely agree with what they're saying about consistency. I managed to beat this mode as a kid, but not because of skill. I just reset until the AI screwed up hard enough.
They need to remake a game exactly like this for online multiplayer.
Someone please make it.
+Edward Stickywicket Agreed, Maybe a new Tetris Attack.
+Edward Stickywicket I will make one myself if nobody is going to. With the mechanics of puzzle league.
I'm so upset they haven't made a new Puzzle League game for the newer consoles. Most recent one I've come across is a DSiware version that just didn't seem to run well. I imported a copy of Panel de Pon DS, but I still haven't tried it out, so maybe that's better. Still, I've mostly been sticking with my VC copy of Pokémon Puzzle Challenge, since there isn't a 3DS version and doesn't look like there will be one, sadly.
I would maybe do it if I learn to Java correctly
Planet Puzzle League on the DS. Servers are not up anymore, but it is my favorite puzzle game of all time. The touch controls put it over the top. I ruined a couple of DS screens on it.
I remember someone commenting about Giovanni's "you're wasting my time!" line at a puzzle tournament is like complaining about alcoholism at a drinking contest.
Also...I remember Mewtwo's stage being the cylindrical one no matter what format you played in.
James: "I'm feeling giddy!" (could not stop laughing)
run starts at 11:12
+Garde Noir you= mvp
I remember watching my older sister do this when I was 6 and she was about 14 (Obviously not as fast, but she was pretty good) and I was SO impressed. Lots of good childhood memories come from this game.
I have no idea how I lucked out so hard with Mewtwo when I was 5. I beat him in like 30 seconds.
Man, i played this as a kid, and even today i was thinking that the S difficulty was human impossible
Wow, the AI really is strange. Like, when Mewtwo didn't react whereas Bruno actually reacted in a similar situation.
So, Bruno could go up to the second tier because he actually found something to clear in the first tier whereas Mewtwo couldn't find anything there and therefore searched into the first tier forever?
Bruh his countdown was Cowboy Bebop. Incredibly based.
Nicely done!
I wonder, how the hell did I ever beat this game on that difficulty when I was an 8 year old? The AI just looks ridiculous nowadays.
Just came back to see this video again and have my mind blown once again
Why does the game skip Agatha and Lance?
+Twiztedgoalie ..... maaaaaaggggggicccccc
+Twiztedgoalie Because this game was loosely based on the anime, Agatha and Lance never appeared in the anime during the time of production of this game.
I suck so hard at this game, but still love it.
My longest time against Mewtwo was 11 minutes, 53 seconds. I lost.
he said he won't ever use reset strats because he goes for WR runs and if he was going to reset a match he'd just reset the run, but that doesn't work on a marathon when you can't reset the time. It's important to be adaptable at least occasionally because he probably would have saved a lot of time on at least one match when the initial combo didn't pan out.
Since GDQ's are twice a year and they're not guaranteed to go, I understand not knowing strats like that. Backup strats work better in longer games because you can recover, but in this they don't reset no matter what because world record doesn't have time to recover. If you look at a WR run of like Bioshock Infinite, not everything goes perfect, and that's why longer games have those backups.
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but besides this, there was Pokemon Puzzle Challenge on Game Boy Color. :) Nice run, by the way.
advocateofpants GDQ actually featured Pokemon Puzzle Challenge at SGDQ 2014
It wasn't until I played this game at Acen did I realize just how bloody fast this guy is, holy fuck this game is hard for normal guys like me. What really sucked was I could see the moves I needed to do but my hands couldn't react fast enough to do it.
Bebop reference FTW!!!!
I haven't played Pokemon Puzzle League before. But I did played Pokemon Puzzle Challenge.
Friend a question if you can help me there. Pokemon puzle league game on my pc and I can not unlock very hard and super hard mode with the codes they give me can you help me. if you know the codes or something to help.
From middle school through high school I used to beat this on S-Hard at least once a day haha
as a plater who plays this game avidly there were so many clench moments
How to join the community? I love this game. Too bad the last time I can't even remember.
Ditto on that glitchy 3d mode in wii VC.
Why it look so empty in audience
11:07 COWBOY BEBOP ALSO THSI GAME IS THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME
I'm watching this, and one thing crosses my mind: why did Erika throw the match! she could've used those blue block to vstart tearing apart the garbage blocks really easily. Actually, the ai in general is kinda dumb; they seem to actively avoid making horizontal matches unless they're in thre chain.
Another reason I dislike the wii VC version more is that the infinite scrolling glitch happens way more often vs N64.
I've been playing this lately. It's a little more floatly than Tetris Attack which I'm used to. But the Ai is harder on this game.
Want the hardest AI? lv 20 CPU on puzle league Dr. Mario for GBA with Gravity/Break speed to 7+ Prepare for 20x chains.
PIKAAAAAA
The dub will stay Original
Pikaaa! Pikaa!
This game is just a copied version of Nintendo's "Tetris Attack"
Tetris Attack was developed by Intelligent Systems who is basically a 2nd party studio for Nintendo.
