Horse lover and fan of your channel from Germany here. Beautiful video, lovely strong draft horses, those Norikers. I haven‘t ridden one but would to do that. I think they look awesome and have such a sweet demeanor. Thanks Alyssa for „riding every breed“. It‘s such a brillant mission!!
The Noriker is my absolute favorite breed. I hope to someday see one in person. Their coloring is just so flashy, I love it. I'm so glad you finally covered them. Thank you for covering all these wonderful breeds and telling us about them.
Yes, ive heard of the Westphalian. Lovely. Loved the parade, and your outfit. 😊 Really cute picture of you as a young girl 👧 on the spotted pony!!❤😊 Love these videos.
So fun. I so like the videos. I learn much. One thing I have learned is to appreciate horse people and the commitment to the lives and beauty of horses.
Another beautiful tradition in Bavaria. Everyone including horses in costume. I was introduced to the Westphalian on another u-tube channel. Very sweet and athletic breed. Thanks for the video 🐎😊.
Thanks for the close-up of the bits used on the draft horses. I watch for the gear used on the various horses you feature, not just the horses themselves. The harnesses looked lovely and it's a real credit to all the hard work their owners put in. Thanks.
This tradition is one of my earliest memories with horses as a Bavarian. They are very special to me. And those rides are still done like they have been for a long time. A lot of tradition there! I just love the background with the mountains - that’s the area where I grew up. So sweet to see the picture of you Alyssa as a little girl riding in the parade with the spotted pony 😊
I love watching the new years day rose bowl parade with all the horses. It's on my bucket list of things to see in person before I die! I don't think I've ever seen a Noriker before. Beautiful horses!!!
Beautiful horses! Even better is that they're pulling carts in harnesses and they still have TAILS! There's NEVER a need to cut body parts off an animal unless there's a medical reason. Go Bavaria!
Bavaria is the Catholic heartland of Germany! Saint Leonhard is apparently St Leonard of Noblac, a holy monk who is apparently a patron saint of horses and cattle. What she describes as a "service" is undoubtedly a Catholic Mass for St Leonard's feastday, Nov 6th.
I am from the East of Germany, which is almost entirely evangelic, and even we have a Saint Leonhard ride, complete with an evangelic Mass and an evangelic priest blessing the horses. I assume that some traditions are so well received that people keep them over the centuries :)
What a completely delightful glimpse of this tradition. The tack on both the horses and the humans was gorgeous! I thought "Westphalian" sounded familiar. The Friesian Horses channel - Coralle, surrogate mom for Belle Uniek, is a Westphalian. The one you were riding - so slim and trim compared to the Noriker. 🙂
Favorite tradition: Here in Hawaii we have pa'u riders who dress in colorful huge skirts, and whose horses are dressed with huge leis. Quite spectacular! You should come see a parade and maybe get to ride in it.
Oh, this is part 2. In the netherlands there is human & horse academy they have 1 cross apaloosa, 2 noriker, diferent ponys and 2 dalmate dogs, all their animals with the black spots. Very unique.😊
St Martin is celebrated in Germany in November. A Roman soldier on horseback shares his cloak with a beggar and then Leads a parade of children with lanterns and adults and brass band. In rural areas there might also be a huge fire and party afterwards.

Thanks for joining me! ☺️

This was so fun! I had no idea that Bavaria was such a horse place. Thank you so much for taking us on your adventures!
The place I had heard of, but not the Westfalen horse. What a beauty he was.

The Pfingsritt in Bad Kötzting is lovely!
This is about twenty mintues away from where I live! How lovely to see you explore my culture from horseback, that really made my day

You just brought back memories. I have not heard of the Westphalen in years. You find the best horse adventures. TY
Horses and country are beautiful. Love your videos

Here in Germany all carriage horses keep their tails.
❤❤
It‘s forbidden by law to dock dogs or horses. In Germany 😊
Beautiful, and you finished your visit in Salzburg, in front of the horse washing basins of the prince archbishop....
Love the preservation of culture in Bavaria. Title should say “Leonhardi Ritt” (the event is called a Leonhardi ride)

Riding in the Christmas parade .

Coralle is a Westphalian with the Friesian horses in Stal H by Yvonne Horjus.
The Boerperd, because of the tradition in South Africa when the Boers fought the British to defend their land. Thanks to General De la Rey.
Eh ya! In any way they ( the horses in general) make many much simpathye😊
❤
I wish i had thought of a career in going here n there, riding some PROPERLY specimen creatures when i was younger.......................
