    I had never heard of this breed before. They are beautiful. I love that bay roan, Cinco. I was sorry to learn at the end that he has since died. I'm so glad that the woman rescued him from slaughter and gave him a great life. How beautiful he and his spotted friend looked doing liberty work.

    I absolutely loved watching you ride these beautiful and majestic horses. I love their beautiful coats and their magnificent demeanor. I’m so sorry to see at the end that Cinco had passed away. It’s very difficult to believe he was once destined to slaughter and I’m so thankful he was saved to live a wonderful life.

    I am 80 now. But in the 80s I started really learning to ride at a hunter/ jumper teaching stable in my near town. In my 40s. Bought my grade hunter gelding, which I realize was really the horse that loved me. No question. The horse of my life. A great thing for a girl growing up in Chicago proper. Enter cancer. And my Jimmy appeared to loved jumping, a I realized riding him only a few days after surgery, so feeling it was best for him, I sold him to a young girl. Her family insured me she was in love. Indeed he lived a long happy life.
    Enter Icelandics. My Grassida brought to US by Diddi. Whom I met several times. I could ride more easily after my surgery. I never regretted it, I loved them, however my mare turned out to be herd mare, though kind, she just didn’t quit get me. When they come from another culture, well, the fact that they survive is just plain amazing!!! Love the Icies and all this is written here because of the kind assurances I reviewed from John Parke and Icelandic Remington. Maybe first Icelandic to finish Tevis. ❤🐺

    Oh my heart! Bavaria close to the Austrian border is where I grew up. I love the area! And I love the breed. Unfortunately here in Germany many foals are bred - too many. So that many of them go to slaughter. Even though they are endangered!
    It’s wonderful you share about the breed - and that you enjoyed your time there 😊So looking forward to the next episode!

      As links are not possible on RUclips, you may want to google 'Noriker Horses in the USA', which is what I did. 😊
      Fingers crossed you will find a breeder near you. Good luck!

    Norikers are so beautiful! You’re lucky to ride one of the beautiful horses! I’m so glad they’re protected by people who want to keep them around for a long time cause Norikers preserve the history of the Netherlands! But there’s something I don’t get what’s causing many horse breeds to become endangered?

    • @picobello99
      @picobello99 4 месяца назад

      Everyone wants the same type of horse - sporty warmblood - to perform in dressage, jumping, etc. Draught horses and native type of pony's aren't as popular because they can't compete with the warmblood type in most disciplines (even though most riders are never going to compete at a level where this really matters).

    The spotted horse looks like a draft appaloosa horse.
    Regrettably you did'nt showed that special event.
    And i don't understand why you mencionate the netherlands? I know that channel in the netherlands noriker horse hidalgo,but i thought it was an appaloosa horse. Because he's spotted like an appaloosa.🤔

    • @TheLindagdetroit
      @TheLindagdetroit 5 месяцев назад

      The gene is called the LP gene. Other breeds of horses besides Appaloosa can carry the gene.
      There's a line of LP gene Gypsy Vanners from Hermit who have gorgeous blankets

    I really loved your videos, but to be honest, I am really disappointed.
    I was looking forward for months or even years, and was so curious, when you are gonna visit Austria to ride the Haflinger, the famous Lipizzans as well as the Norikers.
    When you released your Haflinger video and were in south Tyrol, I was a little bit down, but thought "oh well, there strange choice, but ok". Then you visited Slovenia for the Lipizzans and I was bummed out again, but due to historic country borders, still a strange choice but ok. I literally thought at least for the Noriker you must visit Austria, as there is no historic border topic, they are 100% an Austrian breed dating back to the roman empire times (as you very well know, as you stated this in the video itself).
    And despite this, you chose to go to Bavaria, Germany to visit this historic Austrian breed.... I do not know what to say except for I am hugely disappointed.
    Why then bother travelling to Iceland visiting Icelandic horses, I am sure, you can do your quest riding all horsebreeds while staying in the US anyways. Will see your videos with a very different eye from now on.
