  • This is the 1840 house I've been working on for a while now. But from here on it's full throttle ahead. The other house the 1940 house has been done for a while now and rented.
This is pretty much just a simple old house gutting. I'll be making new videos until it's done and sold, or rented.

I agree with your dining room comment about usage.
Now with a small kitchen, I can understand why the cook would want to be away from the heat and clutter of the kitchen when they are eating. Especially pre-A/C.
I have a house that was built in 1865 that had a fair sized kitchen with a dining room.
About 50 years ago, they added to the kitchen which made the dining room obsolete.
We almost never use the dining room, even on holidays since the floorspace is the same as the eating area in the kitchen. Twice a year if we are lucky.

My house was built in 2004 with a formal dining room and a living room. Getting ready to build another house for myself. And in that house, no living room or dining room. Just a big ass family room and a big kitchen.

I like the old houses. they don't make them like they used to,no real craftsmanship anymore.

Right, and just to think. Everything here was done by hand. No power anything.
