Nobody talked about match ups. Smart Kerr Tatum Thompson Brown poole horford green
The Warriors beat Miami with out Curry, Green, Thompson, Porter Jr and started TWO 19 year old ROOKIES. Boston beat the Warriors when Curry went down with injury and a Boston 8 point lead in the 2nd quarter. Draymond didn't start and was 2nd game back from a injury. The Warriors beat Clippers, Denver and Bucks all without Draymond just prior to the game vs Boston.
As a Celtics fan my biggest concern is their seeming ability to lose focus at the most crucial of times. Game 7 versus Miami being the biggest evidence as they almost choked away a big lead in the last 3 minutes.
That’s all bad coaching! With Tatum bringing the ball up, instead of having a Marcus Smart on the wing they should’ve had Jaylen brown with everybody else on the baseline, and if they double team Tatum, he just passes it to Brown and not Smart! That’s fixable if the coach wakes up.
@@augustmoon0004 indeed. Udoka has done a great job throughout the season ... but it does look like he sometimes loses control during important stretches hence the choke games in the Bucks and Heat series

The Celtics have had a starter or miss a minimum of two games every round this playoffs and have not made the excuse one time of injuries and that's why we made it this far no excuses 4 more wins

Same thing happened with Golden State, Wiseman was out all season, Iggy got hurt in the first round, Gary Payton II got hurt in game 2 of the second round and has yet to return. So while you have players in an out of the lineup, we have key players fully out. But no excuses from either team, may the best team win. Dubs in 6 tho (5 if Steph catches fire).

As far as I could watch the didn’t disqualify them. They just brought context in. Injuries are always a factor, and we shouldn’t take anything away from teams, but we also can’t act like it didn’t happen. For example, what did I learn from the Bucks vs Celtics series? (due to context), that a healthy Milwaukee team is the scariest team in the east. I also learned from the MEM vs GSW that Ja has to do a better job of keeping everybody involved when he’s playing because *as a TEAM* it’s been proven that Memphis plays better without him (specially defensively), etc.
@@angelaquino6755 injuries may provide insight to team discrepancies in team play HOWEVER they DO NOT and should not provide context to a win or a loss because injures are a part of the game. EVERY TEAM has them. if you are judging a win or loss based on injuries then NO team would be a dynasty because there would always be an “injury excuse as to why that team wins. So Im sorry W or L should NEVER be based on injuries which is why you rarely hear about warriors loss because of injuries players.

I’m a Celtics fan, but the shade on Curry/Warriors is crazy! From 2015 until now the Warriors have only missed the playoffs two years bc of injuries. Now everybody is healthy and they’re back in the Finals. This year without a doubt reveals the Warriors ARE a dynasty without KD. KD is home watching the finals like us, and the Warriors could possibly win a 4th ring. Marcellus need to stop smoking that stuff.

Ignoring Celtics haven't been healthy the entire run... Rob missed an entire series and has been in and out and not looked like himself. Celtics at full health still beat all of those teams but with less difficulty. We still haven't seen their best defense from the season because robs been hobbled

Jaylen’s been playing with a hammy, JT with a shoulder sting and a wrist injury, Marcus Smart with a quad injury, shoulder stinger and an ankle injury, timelord with a knee injury!

The Celtics have played depleted teams all series as well. Nets without several players including Ben Simmons, Bucks without Middleton their second best players, and now a banged up miami including their best shooter in Tyler Herro. We'll see how they match up against a much more stacked and healthy team

For real. It’s part of the playoffs. 2017 we were against Lebron game 7 of the ECF Tatum’s rookie year. Didn’t have our 2 best players at the time Kyrie and Hayward the entire playoffs. We’ve had injuries every other year as well in playoffs. Smart, horford, rob Williams, and d white all missed games this playoffs as well. It’s how it goes, stop with the excuses.

They are raw and undisciplined in crunch time. The Celtics also have gotten used to an iso style of ball play with KD, Jimmy, and Giannis. Steph is in a different league period. He runs constantly and the flow of the offense is centered around passing. Celtics will take a few games to adjust but they will be gassed. I fully believe we will see a gentleman sweep.

Steph led the league in scoring last year at 30ppg. This season Poole/ Wiggins stepped up & Klay comes back so Steph average goes down by 5 pts. That's what a team leader does...allows his teammates to eat

Steph is in my opinion the best leader in the league, but that has nothing to do with him averaging 25 this season, his shots (that he usually makes) just weren’t falling. That’s why he had career lows in terms of efficiency. And that’s the only reason he didn’t average 30 again.

This whole injury narrative needs to stop. Every single team in the playoffs has been missing a key player at some point including the Celtics and Warriors. It’s part of the game. The other part of the game is how you overcome those injuries. This series is gonna be close between the Celtics and warriors.

I think the Celtic's biggest advantage is when both teams go to their benches. Because there is little if any drop-off defensively when Boston goes to the bench, but there is a significant drop-off offensively when the Warriors go to the bench. Poole is a beast, but is he going to do that against Smart? Is he going to do that after being bodied by Grant Williams for 30+ minutes a night? He hasn't had to deal with anything like that this post-season so we don't know. But we do know Poole can't check either of those guys, we know that when they go to the bench they can't check anyone other than Pritchard off the bench because Boston is a very big team, and the Warriors are not.
If Boston can keep the score close when the starters are all in they have a real chance at banner 18, but if the Warriors are +10-15 with the starters.....It'll take a miracle to even see game 6 Klay. And with the consistency of Tatum combined with the Celtic's inability to execute down the stretch in close games consistently. It's a hard bet to make.
My heart will ride with the C's until the final buzzer, but I'm going into this with my eyes wide open. I hope Boston can shock the world, but if they don't it'll be a big part of making them contenders for a long time to come. Regardless of what happens, the Warriors will teach Boston how to be a championship team. The only question is how long it takes Boston to learn that lesson. Will they "get it" this series? or next season? ....time will tell. Either way I'm here for it. Go Green!!
Man warriors are only bound to be better with how their bench is championship wise if any chance they have its this one Wiseman not playing maybe he isn’t ready which is why is listed under injury teams got lucky by with his muscle gain and how moody will be next season with competitive level nba play and now kuminga already got a taste of championship they will be very good next season once mixed it starting and coming off the bench

@@MichiganHendough moody and Kuminga aren't good scorers. They are good players who can play well for stretches, but if you're suggesting Kuminga,Moody and Poole have the offensive ability or versatility of Klay and Steph and Wigg then you are sorely mistaken.
Poole is too small to check Grant Williams, Kuminga is WAY too small to check Rob Williams, and not strong enough to limit Theis.
It's a bad matchup off the bench. It's a bad matchup overall, but I have faith that Kerr will find guys their spots, and Dray and the team defense with the starters will close the matchup advantage Boston has individually with their size.
But off the bench?...They aren't that strong defensively or offensively. They aren't weak, but Grant Williams can lock up a smaller player and spread the floor and drop 20, and Rob Williams can lock down the paint and force long or awkward shots, and score over everyone's heads.
The Warriors bench can get going offensively, but they aren't great defensively in general, never mind against bigger players.
Hence the advantage

That's a stretch. Joker is the back to back mvp. Memphis was the 2nd best defense and best rebounding team. Dallas actually had the 2nd best record in the nba after the celtics in 2022. I'd say both teams had breaks but the road was about the same

It’s not just that Kevin Durant was replaced by Jordan Poole. He was replaced by Poole, wiggins , Kuminga, and most of the bench players. The problem is that when you had Kevin Durant you couldn’t pay all these people and they had a very thin bench because of it a lot of low salary players. Even just Wiggins and Poole is more than Kevin Durant because of what they offer defensively and they’re still getting buckets.
They won 2 chips with KD, bench or no bench. They lost due to injuries in 2019 and would still be winning chips if he didn't leave. If chips is the ultimate goal then keeping KD would be the easiest way to do that.

Experience does help, but it doesn't mean u going to win. It's going to come down to who play better. U can have the experience, at the same time the team may not be playing their best basketball either. Some of these young players on teams are playing really good compare to some veteran players, Celtics have young good players that can out play experience teams, they sure did it to Brooklyn & Milwaukee . Experience helps, but it doesn't mean you going to knock a team off! Boston is not experience far as winning a championship, but they can pull it off, because that's how good they are. Anything is possible, I would nor count Boston out, seeing how they play with defense being physical, shooters & some bigs, they definitely have a chance.

Marcellus has a point however I would point out that the Celtics have one glaring mistake that I noticed last series when they get the lead out of tenancy of getting Reckless and getting too comfortable and ultimately some of their guys start trying to play Hero ball in this case Marcus Smart the Warriors have been here before as long as they have their veterans I think the rookies will be fine they're just all going to play their game as they always have and the case of the Celtics there's is going to be an extreme amount of pressure I definitely think the Celtics are going to give it their all but one thing is for certain the Celtics make even a quarter of the mistakes they were making against the Heat they will absolutely suffer for it when they're dealing with the Warriors never have to watch their turnovers their guys are going out to watch the foul trouble and more importantly no matter how hot golden state gets the moment Boston tries to outshoot Golden State is the moment the game is over but also we have to take into account some of their guys are still banged up even though they're getting rest there's always the chance of them re-aggravating certain injuries so they're going to have to have a patient offense and make sure not to force anything because the Warriors will be moving all game long and if the Celtics run out of gas too early it's curtains I say all this to say that the Warriors don't have to be the Warriors from the dynasty they just have to play smart basketball and keep moving

No Andrew Wiggins is replacing Durant. Celtics are not like the Warriors at all, they're different. Celtics have More size, youth, and something different, and the the Warriors got more experience and more efficient shooters. It comes down to who wants it more. I can see either or win, if the Warriors are smooth they'll win in 6, if the Celtics can guard the 3 well and keep up with transition it's going to be an upset for the Warriors

The celtics played an extremely finesse team in Brooklyn. Milwaukee and Miami are two extremely physical teams. The west was trash this year. The celtics are better on defense and are much bigger and more physical. Im also pretty sure that boston beat the warriors every time they played this year. I think it’s a pick’em series. Boston has to have the mental and physical stamina to play consistent D and produce elite offense. Running around on defense will have its toll on Boston. They have been elite defensively, but they dominated teams who aren’t good at what the Warriors are good at. But I would NOT underestimate Boston. They are for real and can definitely win. But so can the Dubs. Boston will deal with fatigue at some point. Their offense isn’t as consistent as it should be. And they did go to 2 game 7s with teams that are arguably not as good as the Warriors.
