It’s been a lot of talk about Steph Curry doesn’t have that signature finals moment … well those people are gonna have to find something else to cling on to
Curry's career Finals vastly understate his effect on the games, also. Curry's overall advanced +/- across the season is the clue. Teams weren't doubling KD into passing to Curry for wide open 3s. It was the other way around.
Not trying to say this for KD, but every team know and admitted that Steph are the absolute core of GSW, so doubling curry = less offensive firepower than doubling KD
@@_xiiaoyang7716 It is simple, if curry gets on fire, its == loss to the enemy. Thats why they prefer double Curry on open three and leaving durant open way to the rim.
@@bamb8s436 not true. Ty Lue said he doubled Curry to keep the ball out of his hands. He said this during the Finals and again this past season a few months back.
People saying he's been carrying this team in the finals whereas he's in fact been carrying the team the entire season. They forgot what potentially phenomenal regular season he had, could've been his best season yet if he wanted to. But he knows he's got to preserve some gas for the playoffs. I hope he will get his finals MVP, it's been long overdue.
Steph's shot at 3:00 was simply breathtaking, for me one of the most skillful shots I've ever seen. It was not simply a throw up and hope for the best shot, it was a shot where Steph had to calculate White's defense pushing him to the base line and towards Williams. Williams', the shot blocker of the Finals, had a free path to block the shot and at least intimidate and change the trajectory of Steph's shot. You can see that Williams skied to where his head almost touched the rim. And that was no regular floater where Steph's momentum carried the ball, Steph had to adjust his path and more so had to jump straight up, and added a pump fake causing him to pause in the air as he make the shot - no momentum there to help that "floater" - I personally would not even call the shot a floater. THEN he banked the shot off the highest point of the backboard, AND released the ball with such feather touch that the ball angle off the backboard was almost straight down. This was no monster slam dunk due to great physical talent and height, no throw up of a shot and pray, it was a shot where Steph was in full control - calculating White's push, Willams as an obstacle, ball trajectory as Steph jumped, pumped, and paused in the air - SIMPLY AMAZING. I doubt most of the fans in Boston Garden and TV viewer noticed how great this shot was. Great that this video broke down this shot in slow-mo. Steph is my favorite player of all time - and I've been a NBA fan since Bill Russell and Jerry West days.
This game was a lot like game one, in a role reversal. Felt like Boston was going to put them away at some point, but the warriors kept hanging around, and hanging around. Never letting Boston hit the knockout, until Steph just took over and won the game. Exactly like Brown did in game one. Heck of a series going on.
I remember seeing a graphic from a game a few years back that said that Steph runs over 2.5 miles per game while comparable stars run about half that in a game. I could be misremembering the details, but nobody's memory is perfect
3:08 is when I suspected it was going to be an extra special night for Curry. R Williams had blocked a Curry shot earlier. We have seen Curry shoot extra high over a shot blocker but not recently. (We take it for granted that Curry beat White on the dribble and uses body to prevent him from recovering.) Curry reached deep into his bag and found extra spicy sauce.
I’m glad you pointed out how they attacked Horford in the pick n roll. Word right now is that Horford is this incredible defender meanwhile he can’t guard a cone in the pick n roll.
on the pick and rolls Horford drops back alot allowing too much space on curry for a splash and if he does try and guard curry on top he will just drive past him for a runner floater or layup . great offense beats defense especially a guy closing in on 40 . you cant expect him to consistently guard a guy like Steph who is poetry in motion . either way its pick your poison with steph one on one with a big
Thanks for breaking down that shuffle step. I try to explain it to people that it's like when you take your gather step for a layup, except walking backwards but people always think he's traveling still.
I love how this channel is unbiased with it's breakdown showing all th great plays but also showing the turnovers that could have been called.. great job!!
impressive how the warriors held their nerves, 'cause refs where having quite a hard time calling fouls on their team. and i'm glad steph didn't get hurt in that hoford contest entering the landing area. no one talked about that, the way it looked wasn't good. one of the many 'no calls' for gsw, coach only pointed that tatum one...
Warriors are used to it now. That's the way it's been since 2016, they lost their cool over it and lost the finals, but since then they haven't let the refs get to them mentally
I hope that Curry will keep this performance until the end of the series whether it's game 6 or 7. I hope that he stays angry. And for Klay to have a great game. And for Draymond to stay focus on the game. I want them to win this championship before Iggy retires. I also want Wiggins to get a ring, he is a nice guy and deserves to win it.
I think that stephen curry himself is one of the most difficult players to defend because of his extensive range of abilities. He can run off screens, set screens himself, move without the ball, hit three point shots without a lot of airspace or even while getting fouled. Even though he does not average many assists for his position, it does not mean he lacks vision. He sees plays before they materialize, therefore he can create an accurate scoring opportunity through his willingness to give up the ball when the defense makes a mistake. In addition, he is a great teammate who uses his shotmaking ability in order to make his teammates look better.
Curry makes so many insane shots outside of 3s but the casual haters will always say all curry can do is shoot 3. That floater to end the game and the float banker over Robert Williams that hit literally top of the board before going in is why curry is more than just a shooter
I think their drop coverage on the three is a denial of the roll or the drive but more on the former. We haven't seen much of it all series long. They refuse to double and trap Steph, banking on the mistakes the Warriors make, basically playing the percentages. I get the logic behind it--take away their bread and butter, eliminate a 4v3 disadvantage, eliminate their ball movement. They've seen how the West defended it and probably saw that it crushed their opponents. But you shouldn't do that on Curry, as evident. The beauty of the Warriors offense is it is versatile. I believe this is the reason Draymond's assists have been down. He's not the distributor on a potential 4v3, which he excels at. And when the Celtics trapped and doubled him late in the fourth, they've had no success. The Warriors are simply great at exploiting that advantage. I think the Celtics can use their length and athleticism to disrupt the pass on the roll if they decide to use it later. Steph can be a pretty careless passer, often opting for the overhead pass instead of the pocket. Excited to see how the rest of the series pans out.
Joey A - am I watching an alternate universe series from you? The series I've been watching shows Boston trapping or doubling Steph several times. Not that it's worked a whole lot.
You nailed it on this one unlike those casuals bruh... It's like when I said that GS can afford to let Jokic averaged 40ppg against them instead of him keeps getting double figures in his assists. Turned out that his highest assists on that series was 6, and it translated to GS's easy W. I know that it's different and Denver plays different game than GS, but the logic still applies I think. Boston *wisely* choose not to double Curry bcos Warriors will thrive even more if Curry keeps making those hockey assists to Draymond and they get so much 4 on 3 offensive possessions. Just like Kenny said some times ago, you defend Steph the right way instead of over-compensating for his presence, contest his shots as best as you can, and if they still win based on Curry makes all of those shots, then all you can do is just shake his hands after the game ends. Ppl who mocks Boston's defensive approach rn are nothing but casuals who don't really understands the game.

Steph leveled up. I thought he was already at GOAT level and peaked in 16' and 17' but he raised the ceiling. He isn't a defense liability anymore, has a good floater, can drive the lane with contact and finish at the hoop, and even rebounds!
You think he peaked in 16 and 17? Dude he led the league in scoring last year!!
He still gets targeted in pick and rolls but he is a good team defender
u missed last year... my guy was a beast, getting doubled everytime. they guarding him from half court. YES FROM HALFCOURT
I honestly think curry can play even when he reached age 40, if Paul can, then steph definitely can too

Absolute masterclass. On the road, potentially going to go down 3-1 and he carves out yet another Finals masterpiece.
6:38 this is one of the craziest shots I’ve seen. Exploding full speed, running to his left, and hitting a 20 foot elbow bank shot with touch.
I liked the one off the top of the backboard over a nearly 7 foot defender 🤣🤣 I can’t even IMAGINE myself making that shot lmao
@@mookiestewart3776 Steph and Kobe might be the two most creative shot takers and creators I’ve seen live. Absolutely insane guts to try some of these shots

So glad that it wasnt wasted now that we know they won the chip. To me this is hostoric legacy defining for him
@@funkthat well, in terms of narrative, yes. But in terms of pure numbers (like for instance, game score), I ain't sure.
Poole, Kuminga & Moody should have been taking notes.
Averaging 35 is one thing, doing it at such efficiency against the best defense in the league while carrying the team is truly something else.
Steph is about to step up to the stratosphere with that MVP 🏆
It’s been a lot of talk about Steph Curry doesn’t have that signature finals moment … well those people are gonna have to find something else to cling on to
His performance definitely deserves the OG music.
Stephen Curry Summoned his inner 2018 LeBron on this one he Carried This Game but props for Wigs for an Insane Double Double stat and Klay.
I knew you’d bust out the old music for this one coach!! What an all time classic from Steph! We are really lucky to be able to watch him

And yet he played well to close out OKC. I don’t wanna hear it

Side note, appreciate you timing the baskets going in with the music. Probably took you quite a bit of time and I appreciate the effort.
Cavs didn t double on anyone
@@bamb8s436 They were actually a good defensive team, plus they were allowed more contact
@@bamb8s436 not true. Ty Lue said he doubled Curry to keep the ball out of his hands. He said this during the Finals and again this past season a few months back.
He's on fire 🔥 He gets that look in his eyes 👀 there is no stopping him 💥
People saying he's been carrying this team in the finals whereas he's in fact been carrying the team the entire season. They forgot what potentially phenomenal regular season he had, could've been his best season yet if he wanted to. But he knows he's got to preserve some gas for the playoffs. I hope he will get his finals MVP, it's been long overdue.
Thanks again coach for a wonderful highlight and analysis of steph’s awesomeness
My pleasure! 🙏🏀🙏
Curry won that game by shear force of will. Was fantastic to watch as a Warriors fan on a Friday night.

He runs so much it's crazy I want to see how much he runs compared to everyone. I feel bad for him he has to do everything. Beyond mvp
I remember seeing a graphic from a game a few years back that said that Steph runs over 2.5 miles per game while comparable stars run about half that in a game. I could be misremembering the details, but nobody's memory is perfect
I mean you see stars almost always stay still and watch their teammates do the work. Russ, Lebron, Kyrie, etc.
Cant believe Im in this era to witness Steph Curry's greatness
Indeed, true basketball fans everywhere should appreciate their good fortune in witnessing such a legendary player.
3:08 is when I suspected it was going to be an extra special night for Curry. R Williams had blocked a Curry shot earlier. We have seen Curry shoot extra high over a shot blocker but not recently. (We take it for granted that Curry beat White on the dribble and uses body to prevent him from recovering.) Curry reached deep into his bag and found extra spicy sauce.
damn i didnt even notice this shot was so high
I didn't notice in real-time the mid-air shot fake also, so crazy everything he managed on that drive
What an incredible shot. The level of difficulty of that is very high
Anyone else wanna talk about that smooth transition to the ad?
I’m glad you pointed out how they attacked Horford in the pick n roll. Word right now is that Horford is this incredible defender meanwhile he can’t guard a cone in the pick n roll.
Naw he just can’t gaurd elite guards that should be existed. However all they say is how Boston can switch everything but never do in this matchup
on the pick and rolls Horford drops back alot allowing too much space on curry for a splash and if he does try and guard curry on top he will just drive past him for a runner floater or layup . great offense beats defense especially a guy closing in on 40 . you cant expect him to consistently guard a guy like Steph who is poetry in motion . either way its pick your poison with steph one on one with a big
Thanks for breaking down that shuffle step. I try to explain it to people that it's like when you take your gather step for a layup, except walking backwards but people always think he's traveling still.
He's doing this while being hounded by smart white tatum brown etc then dealing with horford and Williams in the paint
Curry is TRULY elite
I’m glad we got the OG music back
the music, the analysis, this is what i like this channel about, and the ads too obviously
What amaze me the most is Steph still can be accurate despite keep running around here and there on both end
The commercial breaks are the best thing about your videos. So unexpected every time.

They done woke up the beast in Curry. He ain't gone play with them no more, he is Killer Warrior mode.
We should make "That's Steph" a synonym for magical, magnificent, or supernaturally ridiculously awesome.
The greatest condition player combined with the greatest shooting ability. = greatest point Guard EVER ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
impressive how the warriors held their nerves, 'cause refs where having quite a hard time calling fouls on their team.
and i'm glad steph didn't get hurt in that hoford contest entering the landing area. no one talked about that, the way it looked

Warriors are used to it now. That's the way it's been since 2016, they lost their cool over it and lost the finals, but since then they haven't let the refs get to them mentally
Shooting clinic. Pick&roll, off ball, iso, elite finishing and playmaking. He’s basically mastered all of it
This is dark curry, he activated Michael Jordan’s “ I took it personal” modes.
Love the trash talk he’s doing too.
Thanks Coach for saying Enough to those who keep saying Steph doesn't play well in the finals.

Yep. For the MVP. Not just another shooter. But a very smart team player at that.
I hope that Curry will keep this performance until the end of the series whether it's game 6 or 7. I hope that he stays angry. And for Klay to have a great game. And for Draymond to stay focus on the game. I want them to win this championship before Iggy retires. I also want Wiggins to get a ring, he is a nice guy and deserves to win it.

on the BIGGEST stage, the finals series on the line… curry pulls through carrying the warriors to the W. One of the G.O.A.T performance by steph
8:45 Steph plays the game like he built up a Gamebreaker in NBA Street on the PS2
That’s a transition to an ad if I’ve ever seen one.

Curry makes so many insane shots outside of 3s but the casual haters will always say all curry can do is shoot 3. That floater to end the game and the float banker over Robert Williams that hit literally top of the board before going in is why curry is more than just a shooter
Steph is the best 6’3” player in NBA history. That is saying a lot since all considered great players are much taller!
That Advertisement for Roman was almost as great a master-class as Steph's game 4, bravo 👏

Great breakdown, and you said if they win game 5 he’ll be the MVP. Coach, it’s not over!
Well, whoever wins game 5 wins this series methinks
I've been waiting for this since last night. Great job a usual.
‘Your magic johnson..’. Gets me everytime. Hahahahahha
This is a beautifully articulate breakdown of one of basketball's best players' best games. Well done with this one!
@@moeball740 your not watching enough. watch closer more than half of stephs made threes are from pick n rolls cuz the C's dont double him
I think it’s law of averages and drop is the best outcome, albeit small favorability.
