after buying like 50+ switches, they can only sound so different from each other honestly. imo, just buy based off whether you like long pole vs short pole, or thocky vs clacky.
I bought zakus back when they released and absolutely botched my lube job because I was stoned out of my mind, still regret it to this day, they're just sitting in a box ruined :(
At 2:23, what's the name of the technique you used to get rid of leaf ping? I'm hearing "comp technique" but I'm not finding anything in Google, RUclips, and Reddit. Also, what lube did you use for the stem, housing, and leaves? I'm guessing Tribosys 3203 or Krytox 204?
as soon as he said emogogo I was waiting for an 5 seconds intro with helena by my chemical romance in the background hahahahahahah. Liked the deep sound of the switches, really nice.
Picked up the Emogogo tactiles and they're very solid stock. I have them in a QK65 with PC plate and all foams. Dense and deep sound and strong and round tactility. They're the most tactile switches I have.
@@seishun9611 No leaf ping that I can hear in my board, but mine has a soft plate and lots of foam, so it would mask it. I'm sure with an alu plate and no foam, you would hear some.
@@CabooseTheAwper U4T is more deep. They have a high pitch loud upstroke though. Emogogo has a very quiet and deep upstroke. look into U4TX and go for those if you want to avoid that. Emogogo have a slightly stronger bump than the gazzew imo. I got them because I had some Kono Midnight/JWK Prince and loved the strong bump, short travel, and no pre travel. Didn't like the PC housing for sound and durability, and they have pretty bad stem wobble so they just sound rattley. The Emogogo Tactiles fix both of that.
my batch of emogogo switches I've used for a few months now and the spring and leaf noise in them are UNGODLY, it is so bad. Is thing something normal or should I have returned these switches when I had the chance. They sounded worse when unlubed, they are lubed now, a few switches have be relubed multiple times on the leaf and spring and still the noise is so bad
What switch films did you use? Also I'm going to get the keychron v2. You recommend these switches there. Any other keyboard kits do you think I should do instead 75 percent or 65 percent.
I don't buy switches that sound a certain way- I buy switches that DON'T sound a certain way but that don't lose any quality in how they feel. I can't stand switches that don't emphasize being quieter. They don't have to be silent switches - like the Haimu Heartbeats for example - but how could I even think to show my face at a coffee shop or at work with medium or especially clicky or loud switches? I CANNOT fathom why no one seems to talk more about this. Loud switches are INHERENTLY bad. I need switches that stay out of my way and don't impede my thinking.
1:52 covered by ur keycaps* confused me there a sec not gonna lie. haha good vid though gonna check these switches out wish this came out a day earlier cause i paid an absurd amount of money to get zakus from canada
I JUST put these in my Glacier80. Lemme just confirm 2 things for sure 1.) the switch is smooth stock, you’ll only need lube on the spring, no lube anywhere else needed. 2.) the housings are loose, at least my batch NEEDS films. Overall, this switch is nice but I’ll be sticking to the techno violets switches for now.
Ah I see. I personally don’t get bothered by stem wobble so makes sense why i wouldn’t notice it. People don’t like my inks bc they have stem wobble and I’ve used them for years lol

Real talk, it's insane how many more views my Zaku review video has than many of my other videos. I got caught up in the hype of Oil Kings too and they were such a let down. Emogogo are definitely a solid switch, but they're not hype worthy in my opinion. I'm surprised you think they are similar to Zaku, they are quite different to me.
@@AndyVNguyen that's the thing, Oil Kings need the factory lube removed and then to be relubed to be good, which to me, means they aren't good stock! Stock they are mushy, too muted, and inconsistent feeling Zakus are *significantly* louder, and clackier. They also have a different feeling than emogogo. Zaku definitely stood out for their sound compared to all the other switches I've reviewed. Emogogo are much deeper and have a different tone and are nowhere near as loud. I really wouldn't consider them to be comparable replacements at all. Zaku stock are pretty bad honestly, but once lubed they do stand out. Emogogo are surprisingly good stock, but lubing helps some of the ping and consistency, but otherwise doesn't really do much.
@@siegekeebs do you think emo switches would sound better on fr4? Or would Zakus be the better switch for that plate. I’m trying to get my endgame rn and I really want one of those switches on fr4.
@@kename1280 It entirely depends on what you want, better is super subjective! Zaku are extremely loud and clacky - Emogogo are more muted and are less clacky and deeper. I recommend listening to the switch reviews I put out, everything in the setup is kept the same so that they can be directly compared as much as possible and decide which sounds better to you.
