Also guys, Gateron CAP switches take on a completely different architecture than other MX switches so those are almost always a no-go on frankenswitching. I think even the springs are a different width to accommodate the different stem column design.
@@justanotherpxrson the tops are the only standard part of the CAP series i think, not worth getting of basic KS3s tho if you only plan to part them out
Thanks for the video, manic grab man. It was very nice. I think one of my favorite frankens rn is a stock gateron oil king stem swapped with an average joe stem and lubed spring. It is awesome to type on! Great stuff. Hope you're having a great one!
i have the ikea idasen desk! it's not wood it's that like particle board material but it holds everything surprisingly well and the sit stand is nice :)
Great guide! Frankenswitching has also been a little bit scary because of the cost to entry and the number of choices, but I like the rundown. At the end of the day though, half the fun is trying stuff until it works right?
I got into frankenswitching because I decided to buy Unga stems on a whim and put them on my Meteor Whites and now it's just basically making more SP-Star/Cherry long pole abominations I wanna try putting one of the Tofu stems on a Cherry but I wonder if it'll have stick slip lol The Cream+ have also been a total disaster for my wallet. Those stems are sick but I don't wanna spend so much just to harvest the stems (I hate the rest of the switch itself)
pretty cool if you ask me (also if you have tried the tomo, jane v2 me, and the unikorn could you tell me which one is your favorite in your opinion? besides the unikorn. also have you gotten a chance to try the greatsword80 yet and if so what do you think?)
Please try Fekker match greens spring, gateron milky yellow top and stem and gateron yellow pro bottom with kytox 205g0 on the generous side! Deep sound 👌
Great video! Were those green snake switches that you were opening up toward the end? If so, what were you making with them? I have about 90 of them laying around right now, trying to gain inspiration.
@@TofuTypes Okay, cool! I am not entirely sure where to go with them, from my understanding they are pretty much a recolor of Alpaca's with a different spring. Maybe I will throw a long pom stem in and have something similar to a creampaca.
Not broken in cream housing with kingfisher stem unlube sounds very interesting, trust me. Edit: remember to not lube anything and use a crunchy spring
The goat tofu with another upload
Banger video Tofu. I can tell how much effort and time you put into this. Keep it up.
thank you thank you

I used the tops from my cap milky browns. but at that point you can use literally any gateron switch so you have more usable parts

@@oatmilk9918 yea, I just happened to have cap browns that I didn't love the sound of so at least they were good for something.
I like this type of video, for veteran in this hobby please share your knowledge
Agreed!
Great video homie.
thank you king
Thanks for vid Tofu! My tiny big boy brain didn’t understand half of it, but that’s okay because I got to hear your god tier voice 🫠🫡
thank you king

yeah! what a way to make people sink deeper to the hobby
i still find that creamsicles has a unique sound to it compare to other franken switches. Loving the frakenswitch ideas, its fun!
creamsicles are still sick :3
very nice video! love your stuff. also been meaning to ask what desk you have, or any wood desk suggestions.
i have the ikea idasen desk! it's not wood it's that like particle board material but it holds everything surprisingly well and the sit stand is nice :)
I LOVE YOU
You can call the first switch 0:42 something like, nauticals (because of the voyager and poseidon) or sea foam
oooo that's not a bad idea :O
Frankenswitch just made = Neapolitan bottom, flashquark 2 stage 67 g spring, neopolitan stem, glorious panda top.
I don't usually go crazy with frankenswitching, but I put milky tops on my gateron kangaroo inks and they are fantastic now.
LMAO sometimes just changing the top is enough :P

oh for sure! that's half the fun of them haha :)
holy shit bro, i see why this video took a bit for you. sick vid tho
LMAO yeahhhh the pain

could you make an updated version of the video? (or at least the supported/non-supported part)
Nice! What’s your favorite frakenswitch ?
Oo I would have to say whatever variation of bcp’s and that blue one I made that idk what to call lol
what were you doing to those Neson Camping Switches? Changing out the stems?
iirc i think i was using their bottom housings for a different stem + top housing situation

personally out of the list i would take the jane :3 i have not tried the greatsword so :/

Yo! They were green snakes haha! I just planned on throwing some other stems in there to match a color scheme :p

@@aj4123do it!! And yeah they’re similar to alpacas basically LOL
I'm new to this. Can someone tell me if I can use the housing of a linear switch with a stem of a tactile switch?
what about the ink bottom housing? I haven't seen it in your chart
W video tyty
Where would the haimu x geon switches sit on list? Would they be compatible with chery or SP star tops?
Have you made 2 latch frankenswitches? I haven't seen anyone do it yet but there's quite a large variety of switches in that style.
i have not LOL
I really want to make diamond polished zakus with nixie tops now ....
Heyo, just found this guide.
I wonder what it'd sound and feel like to put outemu silent lemon stems inside an outemu phoenix housing?
i would have no clue but i would imagine it would still feel kind of the same?
Unga Bunga!
What are the green switches you built in the video?
those are green snake switches!
@@TofuTypes That's a Alpaca recolor isn't it? With Cherry Clear Tops?
I have glorious panda, neapolitan ice cream, waiting on voyager to test some things.
ooo very nice!

The pain is taking like 3 batches of switches apart, then the extra parts collect dust💀
LMAO pretty much xD the pain in the fingers
I can tell you’re still a bit shellshocked from that JWK MM video lol
eh....heh just a lil bit
